So baby’s legs are tucked in / akimbo or spread hugging my belly or chest?

They are hanging over the newborn flap.

Yes, the baby’s bottom should sit on the internal seat, with their feet either side.

How do you ensure to keep the baby’s head off his chest?

Keeping the carrier nice & snug means that your baby won’t have space to slump into the carrier & put their chin on their chest. They don’t need to be plastered against you like a bug on a windscreen, but when you put you hand on their head & do a small dip forward, you shouldn’t feel their body pull away from you. Hope that helps.

What size/age is Jamie please? Just wondering when you can fold down the top of the carrier. Thank you!

Hi Sophie. Jayme is a newborn sized doll. The thing about the headrest is that head support really comes from getting their base right. Where your baby is sitting, on the back of their bottom (think sitting in a deckchair, rather than perching on a barstool), & their knees are higher than their bum, it encourages a natural curl to their spine & when the are relaxed, their head just rests on your chest. You can then flip the headrest up, if you need to bend down & don’t have a hand free to support their head, eg. picking something up with both hands, & then fold it down again when you stand up. Hope that helps. 🙂

How easy would it be to feed baby in this sling?

Unfortunately, it’s not easy as there is a layer of the carrier between you & baby.

Is this hard on baby hips at all? Is there a time limit on how long baby should be in the carrier each day?

No. Ideally you want baby in a proper physiological seated position (look up “the M position”). It’s the best way to support their developing hip joints. There’s no time limit on a sling or carrier, as long as you are following the safety guidelines. You’ll find that baby will naturally come out (for a feed/nappy change/etc), so as long as you are safe & comfortable- you’re good to go.
