This is incredibly helpful. Thank you so much. My daughter has asked for one of these expensive carriers for her baby and I wanted to make sure it was going to be a good buy for the money. When she was a baby (30 years ago) there was no such help and so I got a simple Mothercare carrier, it was rubbish and I never used it after a couple of difficult sessions. Looking back I am quite sad about this as she was such a cuddly girl, I know how much she would have loved to be carried.
Glad it was helpful! I’m sure you carried her in your arms as much as she needed. Maybe you could put a grand baby in a sling! If you’d like to try, check slingpages.co.uk to find your local Sling Library/Babywearing Consultant. 👍🏼
Thank you! I'm a nanny, it's my first time taking care of a newborn and this video has been so helpful and reassuring. I've watched it multiple times. Thank you for helping me get out of the house!
This is so helpful! Every time I’ve tried it on I end up with the straps crossed so high on my back and right in to my neck. I think your demo will help me get it in the right spot next time I try. Thankyou!
Thanks very much for this detailed video. We were very excited to get this carrier but after seeing your video we think our son could still be just a bit too small to optimally fit.
Hi, thank you so much for the video. Very helpful. I tried to put the straps like you showed but I just feel like after a bit they slide inwards to the neck. How can I prevent this?
Make sure you’re pulling down towards the floor, not out towards your hip & keep tension on them until they are done up. If they creep up over time, try this - ua-cam.com/video/hBktVk_W0wM/v-deo.htmlsi=ZTPxP5yhgsX0r4Z8
the top panel can be folded inwards which makes it much more suitable for newborn so it doesn't come up too high on their head. Try and let me know what you think.
Sometimes I feel like baby's spine isn't totally straight in the Zeitgeist - is this a concern? She has a slight slump to side when sleeping. Otherwise fit is great. Maybe I need to tighten side buckles?
It sounds like she's possibly not big enough yet? When she gets a little bigger, she'll take up more space within the carrier & won't be able to slump to the side.
If you need to bend down & don’t have a hand free to give extra support to Baby’s head, then you can use the extra head support. Most of the time, you won’t need it. The majority of the support for baby’s head & neck comes from getting them in that nice (knees up/bum down) seated position- it encourages the natural curve in their spine &, when they’re relaxed, they’ll just rest their head on your chest. 👍🏼
Do you mean the extra strap that hangs down once you've tightened them? There's an elastic loop at the end of the strap, this is so that you can roll the ends of the straps & loop the elastic around to keep it rolled up.
@@korielance Generally, it fits from AROUND 10-12lbs. HOWEVER, this will be different for every baby. Make sure your baby can sit comfortably in the carrier, with their knees gently bent over both sides & that you can complete all of your safety checks as mentioned in this video.
Like most carriers it is theoretically possible, but whether or not you can feed in it will depend on your anatomy & your & your babies preferences. You will also not be hands free whilst feeding until your baby has full head, neck & torso control in order to latch themselves on & off.
Yes, I wouldn’t use this carrier for a true newborn. It tends to start fitting at around 2-3m of age. Babies should be held in the carrier in a seated position with their knees comfortably bent over both sides.
as a new mom stressing about how to use my 300$! piece i appreciate this immensely thank you
You're so welcome! 🙂

Yeah, it doesn't make the seat narrower, or reduce the height of the body panel though.
Thanks for such a helpful video! - can I ask if this is the carrier positioned with the body panel on the narrowest setting (i.e. one snap only?)
Yes, it is. 👍🏼

p.s. thank you for your great content!

❤️❤️❤️
What about the different neck support options? Here you have it folded down - when would you have it positioned up (if ever)?

Is this still relevant that you would Not use it for a newborn even though they have the newborn insert now included with it?
The insert isn’t designed to help the carrier fit a newborn, it’s to adjust the carrier to fit in the “facing away” position.
What do you do with the slack from the straps so that the extra material isn't hanging down?
Do you mean the extra strap that hangs down once you've tightened them? There's an elastic loop at the end of the strap, this is so that you can roll the ends of the straps & loop the elastic around to keep it rolled up.
How many pounds do you think the baby needs to be in order to safely use this carrier?

@@TheBabywearingAcademy you are so kind, helpful and thorough!! Thank you so much 💕
Could you do one that is like 1 or 2 minutes just hooking it up
I’m afraid the Artipoppe has now gone back to its owner.
The shoulder straps have a tightening buckle on the back which is impossible to reach while carrier is on, what is their function then?
They come into use when you are back carrying.
@@TheBabywearingAcademy ahh okay thank you!! Been wearing it so wrong all this time 😅
Hello!
Is it suitable for breastfeeding?
Like most carriers it is theoretically possible, but whether or not you can feed in it will depend on your anatomy & your & your babies preferences. You will also not be hands free whilst feeding until your baby has full head, neck & torso control in order to latch themselves on & off.
This still looks uncomfortable for a newborn
Doesn’t look safe for the legs
Yes, I wouldn’t use this carrier for a true newborn. It tends to start fitting at around 2-3m of age. Babies should be held in the carrier in a seated position with their knees comfortably bent over both sides.
