@@eknight1804 same for me, the 118d has a great engine but the 40 horsepower extra would be perfect. Sometimes i wish i had the 120d acceleration, absolutely no shame on the 118d though
I’ve got the 116d msport shadow 68 plate n I’ve got to be honest I absolutely love the car comfortable to drive even on long journeys good on fuel also use it everyday and on average I’ll only have to put in around £20 every week and a half I know it’s only 116bhp but honestly feels like it’s more unless it’s just me don’t get me wrong it would definitely be a lot funner having that extra bit bhp that the 116i or 118i does but this is perfectly fine in my opinion on the bypass in 6th gear there is definitely a lot of power loss in the manual which can be pretty annoying
The need for winter tyres or capable all- season tyres, goes beyond just how much snow or ice is potentially on the ground. It’s about temperature too. In any conditions below 7 degrees, summer tyres are objectively dangerous, affecting stopping distances and grip. Same is true for the opposite, winter tyres are just as dangerous in the summer. From what I can tell it doesn’t matter the power of the car or which wheels are driven. Watching enough comparison videos on summer vs winter tyres in winter conditions should be enough for people to either use all seasons or splash out and have two sets of tyres. I absolutely love these videos, one of my favourite pov driving channels and I hate potentially coming off as a bit of a “keyboard warrior” but this is vehicle safety we’re talking about and the UK seems pretty lazy about it.
The preface lift if I’m not mistaken is the same engine as 120d just smaller injectors and a different map, if you map a 116d you’ll probably be more than happy with the pace of the car
@@harviepugh5495preface lift is the exact same engine but like Magic said the 16/18d have smaller injectors and turbo then the 20d but for the facelift like in this car the 16d is a 3 cylinder and the rest are 4cylinder so different engines.
@@wmfootball5288 hi, I’m considering buying a 116d 2017 manual for around £7500 100k mileage. Would u recommend me buying it? And any other tips or warnings about the car? Thanks

Love my 118d its a comfortable amount of power and its great on fuel, cheap to run and insure at 21 too! Would highly recommend
I got that engine as well, really good, tho I regret not going for the 120d... I think that was the sweetest spot...

I have this exact model but mine is manual never knew they did the 116d in automatic but although manual still a nice car to drive.👍

I got a 125i, and it’s a real pleasure to drive. 😊

Great video, please can you do a video of the 120i or 125i for this same gen?
they’re quite rare but will add to the list 👍

Nice review, got a lexus ct200h but need a second car, could do with some fun dropping off the kids to skool 😂
Can you do a bmw 320d manual estate
If we get one i'll review it. Manual estates are rare though.

Just found one on 64k miles 66 plate 116d auto m sport for £7450 I think it’s a good deal?
Yeah that’s good, for those specs and mileage you’ll be looking around 8K normally

How does it compare to the CT200h. I’m looking into the CT200h but worried I’d get bored !
The 116d is a lot more fun, the lexus is more relaxing.
you did say when you reviewed the 118i not to ger the 116 do you stll not recomend it
The 116i i wouldn’t recommend, the 116d does seem to be quick enough though.

Try out m140i that won’t be slow that’s for sure 👌
No doubt. Can’t beat a B58 😏
Does the 118i feel much faster than the 116d?
i’ve had a 1.6Litre 118i and i’ve currently got a 1.5Litre 116d…
I would honestly say that the power is very similar. Happy to answer more questions
the 118i did 8.77 seconds on our 30-70 sprint, the 116d did 11.06. Quite a big difference

It’ll do but try and get a 118i if you can. Got enough punch to have fun then.
Is it faster if you use petrol instead of diesel😅
Diesel has slightly more torque
Should try the manual version of this

Thats slow, my F40 116d does 0-60 under 9 seconds
Who configured an 116d, with a M-Paket? xDD
