Blender Knitting tutorial

  • Hi everyone, This is a quick upload of my resent research about the knitting process in blender. i was playing with the vertex weight modifier when it gave me the idea to try this. I'm currently working on a more simple way to deal with this kind of effect in AnimationNodes. I think it can be a lot more effective and accurate with animation nodes by creating a simple knitting animation of a single loop and then control it by a null object. Let me know if you guys have already done something like this in blender it could really help me, let me know in a comment. Hope it will help you.
    I'm selling 3d model scan based and retopologized professionally for a really good Price/quality ratio :

    I already worked on a similar project, but the modeling process based on the wireframe modifier is really clever.
    Congratulations.

    So the video seemed kinda cool, but the title said "tutorial". So where is the tutorial? Can you upload that please? This wasn't a tutorial, but rather just a video of somebody somewhere doing ...... something? Yeah, I'd love to see the tutorial.

    hEY Albin, Great tutorial, I saw your scene file and quickly realised how simple the logic of generating the knitting pattern for a plane is, but I can think of a procedural method for tackling a more complex geometry like a sneaker. I am assuming you had to manual set up the base geometry for the animation by individual selecting vertex groups on the sneaker and also deleting every other face edge loop in the desired direction on the mesh. I am taking depending on the order of operations this can be a pretty streamline workflow to tack any new base geometry that requires a knitting animation? Thanks for the explanation vid!!

      Hello Omar, peux tu m'en dire un peu plus sur ton problème :) ? je ferais de mon mieux pour le résoudre.

    • @omardaghstani6246
      @omardaghstani6246 7 років тому

      Alors, j'ai crée une forme (mesh) ressemblant à un "X", ensuite j'ai créé 3 weight groups (1- tout bleu, 2- tout rouge, et 3- un gradient weight). J'ai appliqué un Displacement modifier, attaché à un empty, et l'animation est correct jusque là. C'est le vertex weight proximity qui me confonds. Je comprends pas qu'est-ce qui vas avec quoi!

    • @albin3010
      @albin3010  7 років тому +1

      Ouch ça va être compliqué par écrit mais pour faire simple le vertex proximity modifier sert a influencer ton vertex group avec un nouveau mesh. disons par exemple : tu créer une sphere, tu la place sur ou a coté de ton tissus. Tu ajoute le vertex proximity modifier a ton tissu, tu met le group tout rouge ( qui a donc une intensité de 1 sur toute les vertices ) dans le slot vertex group du modifier. Puis tu met ta sphere en objet dans le second slot disponible à droite. dans le menu déroulant qui indique alors object à gauche, tu met géométrie et tu joue un peu avec le paraître " Highest " . ça va modifier ton vertex group ( pour constater le changement je te conseil de passer en vue vertex weight edit grace au raccourcis Ctrl Tab ) Je te laisse me dire si tu constate un changement ?

    • @omardaghstani6246
      @omardaghstani6246 7 років тому

      Donc voilà, ca à marché! Si je comprends bien, la suite, tu fait un mix entre le weight bleu et rouge par appliquer "multiply" ?

      It's a priximity weight modifier, and the object is animated.
