      I use Blue Magic on her hair and scalp. I've been advised not to put grease on her scalp because if suffocates the pores and prevents growth, but that's not the case with Journey. I moisturize her hair using the L.O.C. method and use Blue Magic as a sealant. It works for her! =)

I also apply oil (black Jamaican castor oil or wild growth oil) directly to her scalp and massage for about 2 minutes or so. I do that 2 - 3 times a week. Both my girls sleep with a satin bonnet. How often do you wash moisturize and style her hair. I was always told if you keep ya hands out ya hair it will grow. I try to take that approach with my daughter but she is experiencing breakage at the temples and has a stubborn spot in the back middle of her head that is so slow to grow. Ive been braiding it but that seems to be a double edge sword. Any advice sis? Your daughter has beautiful hair and your doin an amazing job.

    • @NaturallyTiffany
      @NaturallyTiffany  5 років тому +2

      Hey, Jasmine! I moisturized her hair 2-3 times a week (depending on the style). If her hair is out, I have to moisturize almost daily. If it's in ponytails, about twice a week. In braided styles, I just moisturized really good prior to styling and stretch it until next wash day (usually one week). Braids are tricky. I had to learn this with my other daughter who has very slow to grow, fragile hair. With her, I can't do braided styles back to back. Her hair does better in semi-loose ponytail styles or puff styles. I also, deep condition weekly and moisturize her hair at any sign of dryness. Hope this helps! =)

    • @NaturallyTiffany
      @NaturallyTiffany  5 років тому +1

      Okay, so I've tried rice water one time and it completely dried out my hair and it took WEEKS to get my curls to come back. I basically had dry afro hair. Very frustrating. I realized later after a bit of research that I probably left it in too long (I was leaving it in my hair for 1 hour...sigh). I've recently started using it on Maiah's (my 6 year old) hair and her hair seems to be responding well so far. I only leave it in her hair for about 10 - 15 minutes (twice a month) then I deep condition her hair for about 30 minutes under a plastic cap. She's only had one treatment so far but I've noticed a lot less shedding. I'll keep you updated on any hair growth. So, yes, don't over do it and always follow up with a really good conditioner to keep her hair moisturized (keep a good protein - moisture balance). =)

      Hey, Ashley! The product I use (for now) is the Blue Organics Castor Oil (it's hair grease). It's heavy but it keeps my kids' hair moisturized for days. I also put a satin bonnet on her hair at night. If you don't like hair grease, try a cream based moisturizer (Shea Moisture Kids Curling Butter or Aunt Jackie's Knot Havin' It are two that I really like) and top with an oil. My daughter will be two next week. And I try to keep her hair moisturized all the time. She still has that baby bald spot in the back of her head. Do u know how I can grow her hair back there ? Also what type or rubber bands do you use. I use the ones that don’t seem like they will pull out her hair. But they break 15 minutes into the hairstyle. Someone help please 😩

      Hey, Jada! I simply keep both the girls' hair moisturized and it grew. For my other daughter, Maiah, her hair is very fine textured and was extremely short at one point. In addition to keeping her hair moisturized, I also used a product called Baby Don't Be Bald. I was skeptical but it actually worked. It was only about $6 so I think it's definitely worth a try. =)

      Also, I use the rubber bands that everyone says not to...lol. They work for me and I haven't noticed and breakage. They're the little black rubber bands. The super stretch kind (it says on the bag it won't break the hair). Here's a link: go.magik.ly/ml/ao9s/ (this is an affiliate link. You can purchase these at Walmart for $1 a bag.)

    my baby lost all her hair at 4 months now she is nine months and still bald ,have been using castor oil and olive but still no growth ,what can I do ?

    • @NaturallyTiffany
      @NaturallyTiffany  6 років тому +1

      Hey, Cordellie! Honestly, just keep doing what you're doing and be patient with it. She's still very young. Maiah (my 5 year old) hair didn't start to grow until around her 4th birthday. Every child is different and develops in their own time. Just continue to keep her hair moisturized and it will grow. =)

    • @NaturallyTiffany
      @NaturallyTiffany  6 років тому

      My other daughter's hair was like that for a very long time. I usually would just moisturize her hair and put a really cute headband on it or put the top in ponytails and slick down the rest. =)

    Why do you use olive oil on her hair ?

    • @NaturallyTiffany
      @NaturallyTiffany  6 років тому +1

      Olive oil is a natural moisturizer. It's an emollient so it has the ability to penetrate the hair shaft and help keep the hair soft, shiny and retain moisture. It can also promote healthy hair growth and healthy flake-free scalp. Just to name a few things. =)

    I have been told that rubbers bands break the hair

    • @NaturallyTiffany
      @NaturallyTiffany  6 років тому

      I've been told that also but I have not noticed any breakage. Also, the rubber bands I use, say on the package "will not break hair". Here's a link: go.magik.ly/ml/ao9s/

      joleen masha I’ve trained mine to associate it with candy 😂that’s the only way she’ll let me do it without a fuss but it’s only once a week and she doesn’t get candy any other time so I’ve become okay with it. If she’s good through it she gets a lollipop at the end.

    When I use regular blue magic, my rubber bands snap! You don’t experience this with the organic castor oil one???

    • @NaturallyTiffany
      @NaturallyTiffany  6 років тому

      The rubber bands sometimes snap after a few days. Usually when the style is old and ready to come down anyway.

    Hey, great video Naturally Tiffany! Her hair looks adorable! And yeah those barrette backs do come off too easily. How you tried using hair snaps on her hair? My friend uses them for her daughter's hair and says they stay on. Here's the link: www.twistbraidsnap.com/collections/hair-snaps. Check it out!

      I've heard the same about the rubber bands. However, I haven't noticed any breakage in my girls' hair from the bands. I purchase the ones that say "will not break your hair" on the package. =)

      All the links to the products are in the description box. If you'd rather not order online, Target has a large selection of products for natural hair or any local beauty supply should have all the products as well. =)

    How can I know my baby hair type her hair is thick and curls and stay dry I use blue magic grease and water and spray bottle

    • @NaturallyTiffany
      @NaturallyTiffany  6 років тому +1

      You can search online (or here on youtube) for hair type charts but, in my opinion, that's just a guide. Everybody's hair is different. I use a cream based moisturizer plus an oil under the Blue Magic and that seems to do the trick for dryness. =)
