    I cried when Juliette was talking. When the interviewer asked her what it was like as her best friend, she rolls her eyes and sighs at 4:00. You can still hear the pain in her voice. She looked like she wanted to burst into tears. :(

      @Lorna Fitzgerald Fan Just finished reading Tyler Jame's book, and it was the same there, she'd spoken to him over the phone after a fight, saying that she loved him and what she wants in life for him (for example for him to fall in love). Apparently Juliette and Amy had been so estranged that Amy's father didn't even plan to invite her to the funeral. Why would Amy just randomly call everyone up like this? I came to the same conclusion you have, that she was tired and wanted to say goodbye. It's eerie.

    Juliette is a real, true friend. She's been more loyal to Amy in life and death than her own parents have been. They have written books and gotten money off of their deceased daughter's legacy, and they were equally money and fame hungry during her life.

      Amy was in control of her own life since the age of 16 when she moved out with her friends,she was taking over her own decision making,no parent wants there kid to dye from drugs or alcohol or a car accident,she was also rich,she could have left everyone with her hubby and moved away but she didnt ,cause Amy was about family and friends and they lived in Londonand she was not stronge enough and i dont know many stronge addicts who have survived drug abuse or alcohol,so its like playing russion roullette ,you dont know when youve pushed it one too many times and Amy did sadly as well as many other singers,one thing tho they were all very talented natural at there craft,maybe just a little too sensitive for the world sometimes

    Everyone blames Blake. Listen to Rehab. Listen to and watch her fathers behavior from there on. You will find the driving force behind her demise.

    • @stefrodriguez3017
      @stefrodriguez3017 7 років тому +36

      Absolutely agree. However, unpopular opinion, Blake seems to be the only one who tried to understand her. I think that’s one of the main reasons she fell madly in love with him. It’s just a shame that his own needs (drug abuse and partying hard) outweighed his actual connection to Amy.

    • @soda1850
      @soda1850 6 років тому +27

      Yes Blake was never the main problem, she would've gotten into drugs sooner or later anyway she was a destructive person and not happy deep down and it started with the eating disorder so that is what should have been cured, that should've been the focus as well as therapy. Destructive life and destructive relationship... She was attracted to him because he was a toxic person and she had no good confidence so she might've been able to let him go and found a healthier man if she'd gotten better help but instead she was pushed to continue performing... Something that still happens today, just look at Avicii who recently died for the same reason. Very sad. But broken people attracts other broken people that's how it works... But sadly that can never end well they only dragged each other down.

    • @JazzFlop212
      @JazzFlop212 5 років тому +29

      Blake and Mitch Winehouse were both horrible parasites who leached off of Amy. Both had equal parts in her downfall. Her father imbedded what Amy referred to as her "Freudian fate" very young when he cheated on her mother and left the family. The song "What Is It About Men" details that. That left her vulnerable to people like Blake who used Amy by taking advantage of her predisposition towards needing men in her life. You can argue that many outside factors played roles in her descent into addiction, unstable mental health, and eventually death. Her father, blake, the media, the record label, etc all had a hand in it. Its easier to blame one or two individuals then face the sad truth that almost everyone played a role in that sweet and beautiful woman's death.

I am a recovering alcoholic, and for years had a self-destructive personality and self-sabotage. I felt a huge connection to her. I miss, Amy. The world was robbed of a beautiful and talented soul. Shame on the tabloids for using her for profit, they destroyed her. There should be a law against that crap.

      she had blake tattooed on her chest 2 months after meeting him knowing full well he had a partner and a kid with his partner. they had a one night stand that lasted too long. also he was in prison the full time 36 months when she went on her drug bindge and writing a album about her bad relationship was what her record label wanted or they would never have agreed that this sad relationship sell's stories to the papers. I don't blame the boyfriend i blame her management record label and the media. She had to make a broken lifestyle for herself to sell to the public first time i heard the album i though that is depressing crap and i still do. How can anyone think that is good music it's very sad they should never have let her sing that crap poor blake has to get the blame but we all know Amy had mental health problems and they knew she was worth more dead than alive.

    Juliette was jealous of her friend.They may have been friends since four years of age but friends can still be jealous-and now she sings (if you wanna call what she does singing)? And she was not in her life so much at all toward the end.Her or Lauren.You have to read between the lines.When Juliette says,"what is it now?!" in the film,because she and Lauren are ALWAYS coming to Amy's rescue (bull), she says,"that's what you come to expect."Like Amy was a nuisance.And nothing about her mother,father,Reg,Dionne and other friends-besides these two.The film makes the viewer believe that only Juliette,Lauren,her musician cronies were in her life toward the end.Give me a break! In case they don't realize,Amy Winehouse fans all over this globe followed her career.We KNOW how she was toward the end of her life.We KNOW she was NOT using drugs anymore.We KNOW she was getting her life straight and she was seeing Reg on a regular basis.Was she drinking somewhat still? Probably but they made it look like she took her life by drinking on purpose.Pathetic.

      You can see how competitive they were with the old footage of Amy singing Happy Birthday at the beginning of the doc (the shot turns back to Juliette who looks pissed off that Amy upstaged them all)

      Late response - Amy had a lot of “haters” in her personal circle, I’m sure the realization of that is part of why she succumbed to drugs and alcohol. When someone is naturally talented and genuine as Amy was, people will be jealous. I really wish things were better for her and that she actually had someone that legitimately cared for her. She deserved it.

      She might be jealous- but that video was when she was a kid. THEY were kids. Kids get jealous but best friends get jealous even more. It doesn’t mean Juliette is bad because she wanted to sing, it doesn’t mean she wanted something out of this, since I can tell she feels devastated and dismal over Amy.

    Why should Amy's so called 'best friend' be trusted anymore than her father? These are people coming out of the woodwork now using Amy's story to bring attention to themselves. Juliette's trying to become a musician herself, why can't people connect the dots.

      Did you not see the documentary? Her best friend's gave her an ultimatum and Amy didn't want help (which is why she released "Rehab"). They broke off contact because they couldn't handle the pain but told her they will always be there. A few days before Amy passed, Amy called her and couldn't stop apologizing and they wanted to meet but she unfortunately drank too much a few days later :(

    Juliette doesn't come off as sincere to me... She keeps repeating what everyone knows already: "Amy's funny, beautiful, like a normal girl..." Daaah, Yeah -- she wasn't an alien. Juliette appears overly dramatic with her emotions as if she's acting. Her feelings seem newly manufactured. She's concerned how others perceive her like she has something to prove. It's not from the heart. She / they need to be honest and admit, they are trying to cash in on their early on relationship with Amy. Parasites. I don't believe Amy had any "real" friends; or at least Amy didn't really know who her real friends were.

      +Joy A Jaxon Bullshit. There's no doubt Juliette was a dear friend of Amy's since age four and that she cared very deeply about her and still does. Have you seen the documentary? Also, exactly how do you imagine Juliette is benefiting from this financially? That's clearly untrue. She hasn't even written a book. This is the first time she spoke to media, and that's because she was part of the film - for which she wasn't paid a dime either. Here she's on live TV - anybody would be nervous and repeat themselves. And just in general, how dare you presume to be able to discern or judge whether she's being "overly dramatic". Did you know Amy? Do you know Juliette?
      And just because somebody seems "overly" emotional to you doesn't mean they're fake! Emotions are deeply undervalued in this culture and it's time we stepped back and admitted that emotions go hand in hand with everything we do and who we are, and they're never fully disconnected from so-called "rational thought".

      +Joy A Jaxon Ofcourse there are going to be people that think this. You assume, and you're also not very empathetic. It took a long, long time for her to come out about this. She wasn't even interested in speaking about it for a very, very long time BECAUSE people like you would say this. Juliette is my cousin, and I know better than anyone else her struggle. Stop talking about something you know nothing about.

    • @dmann1115
      @dmann1115 8 років тому +10

      Please let your cousin know that the haters are few, they just always make noise because they need that feeling for some reason. There are many, many more people who do not say such things, and in fact, admire and empathize with her. To go through such an experience so young, the kind that will always be part of life afterwards, is quite something. My heart goes out to her.
