  • Alfonso Díez Ausín (1969) and Wiliam Cara Zanda (1967). Born respectively in Burgos and Pirri on the island of Sardinia, they have spent years dedicated to the research, conservation and dissemination of traditional culture, especially clothing. They have been working in their garment-making and restoration workshops, although for some years now they have been sharing projects. This will crystallise in a shared shop in Burgos called Orbace & Manflor in honour of the representative fabrics of their places of birth: orbache is the twill and wool fabric used to make costumes in Sardinia and manflor is the carved wool fabric of the barragán family used in Palazuelo de la Sierra, Alfonso's family village. They dare to make traditional or historical costumes from witness garments and also with recreations taken from engravings, paintings or literary descriptions. Their extensive knowledge of ethnographic heritage (rites, music, etc.) gives them a global vision to contextualise their work in costume.
