I’m 19 dude and got my class A 3 days after I graduated high school. I currently drive a concrete mixer because nobody around will insure me for a tractor trailer. Keep at it bro!

Ryan McDougall it’s mostly because you’re under 25. I’m 25, and graduated my ACZ course on the 19th of November. And I’ve got a heavy hauling flat bed job offered to me on the 23’d without any experience.

It's been 20 years since I hauled asphalt. But the smell of hot asphalt going down brings back good memories. This video brought back good memories as well. Thanks for making it.
@Jeffrey1975 I've said that exact same thing before! I'm retired now, but my career was asphalt and Ready Mix. I hauled asphalt in Southwest Florida. We had the R model Macks, had 5 speed reverse so if you had an odd job, say a bridge and you had a LONG way to back up? You had those 5 reverse gears, some guys couldn't wrap their heads around it, it was a head trip for them! I LOVED IT, like being in that movie "HOOPER" with Burt Reynolds, LOL.
So I'm retired and sometimes when I see a dump loaded with asphalt and that smell just brings it all BACK and I wish I was still doing it! (to a guy who hauled asphalt and loved it...and how could you not, that smell is more nostalgic than chimney smoke on a fall evening...I KNOW you can relate!)

At least in my state they do not drug test you to get the CDL you get drug tested for jobs but if not get you medical card so you can keep using lol just joking (;
Good stuff bro, Sold my KW T800 several years ago. Thinking about getting another one since all the jobs have gone to hourly, we at $92.50/hr now for tri-axle like yours. We usually haul about 25 ton with that setup. Dumping is fun. You ahead of many your age. Ive been in the trucking game 25+ years and love seeing young brothas getting it in. Keep it up young brotha, much respect.

Best way to get experience. Dump truck ! Top heavy. You will respect the weight of the truck. Don't be shy spray diesel on the floor. The asphalt don't stick that much. Clean the body every day, never know what you haul next day . Asphalt, top soil, mulch, don't want to mix it. Keep on trucking and be safe.

When I was 16 my dad got me a dump truck instead of a car and I drove it illegally until I was 18 then I sold it and bought a Mack tractor with a 40’ dump trailer and drove it until A few days before my 21st Birthday and me and my older brother was in California bumping the dock and it’s been that way every sense and I’m in my 50’s now so keep up the good work 👍🏾
Nice to see a young man already having a career. I do end dump trucking. Been t/t driving since 2002 but end dump driving for two years. Couldn’t do dump trucks. The waiting game is horrible lol I get loaded mostly within 5 mins drive to my destination, dump and do it all over again. Just quick, easy and simple lol when you turn 21 switch on over. But keep up the good work young man.

@@dcartiair thats before brotha but next hr ill be hitting 6 figures now if your wondering after taxes its usually between $65k-$70k after taxes and thats not ecen trying if u work extra day and hours i made $136k last yr after taxes around $90k

The off road diesel with used motor oil mixed in a 2-1/2 gal pump sprayer works extremely well, that was my mix was when I had my dump truck. 1/4-1/2 gal used motor oil and the rest off road diesel (red)💪🏼💯

We just have tandems at the job they hold bout 18-20 tons Big yuhself king 👑 you doing den damn ting. One thing I've been driving for 15+ years over the road I've learn surround yourself with people that is like mind like you.do not involve yourself with those who is not going help you grow I've learned the hard way I'm trying to get my CDL license reinstated and get back on that black top

I do the same thing but drive a combination. Mack granite with a 22’ trailer. Started when I was 18 and now 19. We got it easy since our paver has rollers that lock onto our rear axle

I’m 22 years old I’m in Truck driving school I have obtained my Class A NC CDL permit. I also have obtained my Tanker, & Hazmat endorsements. I can not wait to start my career later or next year.

I work at the tire shop of a materials company and they just make us learn how to drive these and side dumps/belly’s like the 2nd day there, kinda like throwing someone in a pool to learn how to swim

Yea, I know that feeling, I switch up my work to stay motivated. One thing I dislike is the monotonous jobs. But the money is great so I don’t complain.

I just turned 21 and going to be trying to buy a dump truck I work at a plant and all we got is 3 solos and that’s our biggest plant but we can clean the bed at the plant our smallest plant doesn’t even have a silo it holds about 1 truck load and takes 15 min to make asphalt for one truck

Do you use soap and water for your bed or does the plant have a wet station? Did see you wet your bed. Also i used diesel only for the lip on the bed.
KW #1 the plant has the soap I use it sometimes for heavy asphalt I use diesel
