I gave up my CDL about 8 years ago. Now enjoying the retired life. Keep up the GOOD work. You have a beautiful family. May God bless you all ...or ya'll. :=D
You have a beautiful family and home bud and you guys /Girls are what keep America the greatest nation on earth so God bless you and yours and keep the Videos coming as i just subscribed to ur UA-cam Channel and you show more of the inside of pickups than most do so keep them coming
@JustTruckin - I noticed in a few of your videos, that you're always talking about trying to locate the address/location of your pickups or deliveries. I'll give you a helping hand, especially for public ways (street) locations. The USA has been numbered for the 911- Emergency system. If you take the Street number and add a 0 to the end of it. That is the approximate number in Feet from the beginning of the roadway. So, if you are looking for 528 Main St. It is 5280 feet (1 mile) from the start of Main St. 1640 Main St, is 16,400 feet from the start of Main St. (3 miles approx). This can help you find locations, especially if you need to approximate how far you need to travel on a road, to get to your destination. (This works for State, Municipal roadways. NOT all the time for Private roads). Hope that helps you a little. Keep up with the videos. Respectfully, One of the Boys in Blue, up here in Massachusetts. Be Safe, God Bless.
Did you actually believe the BS you spewed here? Nothing could be further from the truth. I have never heard anything so absurd in a while. What about the houses that were numbered before phones? Did they just renumber? Houses are numbered in consecutive fashion. Nothing to do with distance. I am in Mass as well and my house number is 199. 5 miles from the center of town (same road) and 14 miles from the start of the road. I have another house in Florida which is numbered 7806 on a 1/2 mile road. Obviously you have never been out of Mass. Scary part is you claim to be a cop. Just scares me that someone so ignorant could be a cop.
@@MrThisIsMeToo He confused me as well. I don't know if there is some hint of truth to that, or its just based on some internet rumor? I can't think of any streets/roads in my town that would follow that system. On some older streets, the numbers are actually out of order. That
sure enjoy your videos', reminds me of when I was trucking in the early 70's. Lots of changes and the money is a lot better. I had a 1972 Kenworth conventional with a sleeper, 290 cummins, brand new $29,000.
When I went to driving school up here in Canada in the spring of 93 the cost was $3250. 27.5 years of driving under my belt. Currently work for XPO ltl in Winnipeg.
I remember back in 2006 when $2/mile was a great load. Though the best load I ever saw was hauling a building across the usa. Took 2 weeks one way could only drive late night early morning. Took a lead truck and a pusher. $25k for each driver after permits and other over head cost.
I always put something over my son's feet after he fell asleep...so he wouldn't kick it off while awake. I got the honor to deliver my son at home in the bathtub...just my wife and I. That was high stress for me! Back then I was flying Internationally in DC-10's and later MD-11's...retired now. I would normally be gone for 14-16 days a month some where in the world, like you are somewhere in the USA. I When I was home I did 100% of the diapers changes. When I was home my son would make a fuss if anyone else tried to change his diapers, because in his mind it was Dad's job. I would talk to him 100% of the time while changing his diapers. He would listen intently to me all thou he could not say one word...talking would take his mind off the diaper change process. Great memories!
Great video, I appreciate the info here!! I’m up in NYC area currently running as a Company driver but looking to get my own Authority too. You said it best brother “why make 0.38 cents a mile when we can make $2.00 or more a mile”
Another great video brother I really love watching you remind me of so much when I was on the road and I really miss it like I said God bless you family beautiful as usual but I was mad because I didn’t get a Piece of candy bar OK next time God bless you guys
Just started watching last night but ive watched probably 20 of your videos. It's really pretty interesting, makes me want to drive a truck and be an O/O but I already have a good job haha. Maybe on the weekends
Chris McFarlane nothing. I was a heavy equipment mechanic for the State of California. They paid the $74 for the testing fee and took written and driving on the clock. I didn’t do any practice driving, 20 years of driving them around the yard and backing them into parking spaces was enough to get me a perfect driving score. The Pre Trip was long, I basically did a full BIT inspection as I have done a couple times a day when I sign off their 90 day inspections.
Hey I'm new to your channel. I live in Greenville, SC and currently working at a hotel as a shuttle driver, before COVID I would pick up a lot of truckers at Christopher Trucks on White Horse and Piedmont Road I really liked asking them questions about trucking. I just was accepted into Greenville Community College truck driver training program. I am looking forward to getting into a new career. I'm 31 years old and my hotel job only pays $10/hr and I am lucky if I get 40 hours a week. I think its very cool that you are driving your truck right where I live/have drove my shuttle van. Have you had to go to a Christopher Trucks for a repair? I might of picked you up, probably not.
Yeah good money going into Florida because it's not good getting out. I hate Florida just as much as NJ no parking after like 2pm even reserved spots are taken.
Hello my bf and I are out of S.C and we are thinking about getting our own authority. Could you talk about getting your own authority, rate cons, and how you deal with the paperwork a little bit more. Thank you and also beautiful family!
I’m considering going to get my cdl. You have helped me see what the day yo day is like. Would you suggest starting with a company for a year or so and then trying owner operator or going straight for it?
I’m in school now and about to finish in a few weeks. Was buying my truck right after and getting my own authority. Was it easy to start getting jobs from the load boards right away?
