I'm building a ledges and braced gate, wider than usual, around 44" wide. I see two methods of fixing the diagonal braces, top to bottom corner, or split into two and fixed up to the central rail. Is one method stronger than the other, or does it not matter?
Hi just a quick question I was thinking about buying a new circular saw, but see you have a plunge saw and see loads of people with them now, which one would you recommend ? Cheers Ian
Hi there Ian... yes well spotted I use my plunge saw for preety much most things as you can see... all depends on budget.. the festool one is spot on and so nice to use... but if budget is a issue I use to have the erbauer one and was great machine aswell... I also seen that B&Q in the UK have the titan one for sale on discount aswell... so with a look.. hope this helps
Hi I have bought the Titan one from Screwfix and it's good for the money, I tried the Aldi special buy and took it back, check out 10 minute Workshop he has done a series on the Tracksaw. A Tracksaw is a lot safer than a circular saw as you plunge it into the wood, hope this helps
Why no commentary? I'd like to know how you came up with the proper arch, and how did you determine positioning of the hinges, i.e., left/right. Does the middle of the hinge sit on the gate or on the edge of the fence? Details details! Otherwise, its just a man making a gate.
Morning. Making a similar gate today. Can you please tell me what thickness the t and g was? I’m using 5x1 and 16mm finished t and g and am worried about screwing from the back? Cheers
I'm going to attempt to build this. Doesn't seem to incredibly hard. I'll just have to rent the saws and stuff. Hardest thing will be getting it right measurements.
It's great when you have all the tools at hand 🖐️😃
It sure is
Nice attention to detail with the angled cut on the ledge and the complimentary cut on the brace.
Thanks 😊
Looking good like the chamfer so that the water won't settle nice touch. 👍😀
Thanks mate little things make a big difference

Hello there my timber was 19mm thick boards
Lowes Joinery thanks. What size screws did you use and how far into the 19mm did they bite?
I used 25mm stainless steel screws
What thickness is the wood? And is it tong and groove.
professional grade work.
what song is this? i love it
How did you get the shape of the top of the gate?
Hiya mate I used a scrap of wood or some string on a nail central on the gate to form the arch
Excellent now my turn ☹️
Woodprix has very good designs and plans.

Why don't people talk when making videos so they can explain as to what they are doing. I hate videos like these
