She is the epitome of class and grace. This is how you conduct yourself when you feel the need to step back. No muss and no fuss, assist others and be happy knowing that you are positively enhancing or helping someone else.
She left at a different time when the media was more respectful and not in your face. She also was not in line to inherit the throne. She was also white and not accused of shacking things up or being the cause of the breakup of the family.
Katherine, Duchess of Kent is a role model for young women. That is how one should lead one's life with love, grace and dignity being involved with one's family and after the children are grown continuing to support your husband's endeavors as well as giving of yourself to help those less fortunate.
Got to meet her back in the 60’s, first impressions that grasps you apart from how beautiful she was, she personified dignity, gentleness and a genuine decent human being which leaves a last memory.
As Chancellor of the University of Leeds and Patron of the Leeds International Piano Competition, she worked tirelessly to promote music in Yorkshire - and was always eager to learn more - I remember accompanying her (on strict anonymity) to a number of Yorkshire churches so that she could experience playing their organs - it was great fun, too...
Proud of Katherine . As a Yorkshire born and bred . Like myself but I'm from West Yorkshire. And Katherine from North Yorkshire. York Minister is beautiful. A down to earth lass who never let the Royal title changed her
Her husband and late mother-in-law are/were down to earth people who have made a positive difference in many peoples' lives while fulfilling their duties to their family and country. People with purpose not the vain, self-aggrandizing people who fill the tabloid news with their latest acquisitions and scandals.
I had the honour to be in her presence in the 60s. Such a graceful lady. She held her own with an occupation & still being a RF member and the committments she had to uphold. Her exit from being a working royal is how it ought to be done. H & M should have learnt their lessons from her. Any further RF exits should be carried out this way with dignity!
Thanks for this video. I had wondered for a long time what had become of the Duchess of Kent. I remember her well from her Wimbledon days in the Borg etc era. Here departure was a dignified one. later royals could learn from it.
I always liked her when seeing her at the finals in Wimbledon. She has so much grace and kindness that it was nice to watch. 💝 I wish her much Health , Joy and Blessings.
Beautiful Woman but she had to give up her Religion Catholic to marry into the royal family and a few years back got permission from her Queen to go back to Catholism❤❤❤

How fantastic - I've always liked her - but this makes me know why I always liked her so much. Such a kind, sweet, lady. She has done so much for England and is so understated.
I am pleased for her that she has been able to teach and do her charity work and still be able to support the duke when he's in need due to health concerns. She gets to give so much to children by teaching music. It gives them discipline and expression. BY THE WAY, is Lucy Worsley, who does all the TV re: royalty & history, a relative of Katherine's either by blood or marriage?

Something that two people we all know should learn; Just do it and be quiet!

@@afirmrose she was and IS a lady, that’s the difference and you don’t have to be born a Lady to know how to behave as one.
A real standard bearer for being true to oneself and others with grace and style!
This lady is a teacher of us all. Showing how to live a productive and fulfilling life of service to others. What an inspiration!
This Royal is the epitome of beauty and grace! Total honesty!

A very gracious lovely woman. The Queen respected her & gave her permission for Her decision.
I know she would always get her husband and the Queens approval before moving forward. Lovely wife, mother, teacher, friend, woman

Admirable lady. This is someone who is so self assured that she doesn't need the limelight to know that she is somebody. You have to respect her. ❤
She's a kind person.

Thank you for this very enjoyable video about another 'unknown' royal. A very pleasant change and relief from the trial news.
She is a beautiful person, heart of gold. Duke of kent is also a up standing man. Love them both 💕 ❤️ big fan of both of them.

Hi there! Lucy Worsley confirmed in a Q&A session for The Guardian in 2017 that she’s not related to the Duchess.
Beautiful loyal, just how a loyalty should be it's not about her. it's about the good of the monarchy and the people

Best of all she's a Yorkshire lass.
Such a loss. She is just a beautiful soul.
When Harry and Meghan decided to give up their royal duties, they should have followed the Duchess of Kent's example.

Well she stepped down with no issues you have to take your hat of to this royal unlike those from today
Living with Chronic fatigue syndrome is depressing in itself.
Never forget where you came from -- a Yorkshire lass to the end.

Well, that's a surprise--her music choices.
Excellent and informative...a Narrator with a lower vocal Register would have been preferable...dgp
The nicest lady on the planet together with Princess Diana..too nice for any of the others that's there now
I wish her everything good in life.
She has her HRH. She just chooses not to use it. Unlike Prince Andrew who had his HRH revoked.

Meghan could learn a lot from her.
Meghan and Harry, watch and learn - service before self!
She already 90 years old, she might need to take a rest and reitre ? Or...
I read she had a mental breakdown and marriage went wrong
I wonder if she’ll go on Oprah
It is awful to shake hands and visit charities and follow stupid oldfashioned rules😂
