Thank you ladies, this was from 1996 when MTV played music. The bass players bass said Friends don't let friends get friends haircuts, a stab at Metallica when they cut their hair short, Jerry Cantrell the long haired guitarist wrote this song for the lead singer Layne Stayley as a friendship song. Sadly Layne passed away in 2002 from drug addiction. I would recommend Rooster, Would? Down in a hole, Nutshell, Man in the box and any others. Alice in Chains were one of the big 4 of grunge. Laynes voice was unique and deserves more listens.
True and I lost all respect for them when they made fun of Layne at a live show after his death. Don't believe me then look it up on youtube..... Metallica makes fun of Layne Stayley.
@@Chris-jv1zo They were friends, I never really thought they "made fun of Layne's death" at all. I don't know how it happened, but really can't see how it would end up like this was their intent. Even more, Jerry is still very friend with them. If they werre really making fun of Layne's death, pretty sure Jerry would have broken bridges with them.
ua-cam.com/video/llqXTjp8QPc/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NoerhakeemChannel james, lars and kirk acting like they were jabbing needles in their arms doesn't seem like a harmless joke
@@MightyPee Look up Metallica making fun of Layne,.Kirk,Lars and James are playing a snippit of Man in the Box then start acting like they are jabbing needles in their arms as a joke. Jason is the only one not doing it. So that's whay I lost respect for them and they also make fun of Kurt Cobain. The crowd didn't like it and started throwing things at them. Layne could sing circles around James anyday.
My favorite Alice In Chains song is Rooster, probably cause I'm a war veteran myself, and my second favorite is man in the box, but this song is amazing as well. Imo Alice in Chains is an underrated band.
Down In A Hole and Nutshell is must see from this same concert. Their video's for Rooster, Would and Man In A Box. One of the greatest singers Layne Stayle and Jerry Cantrell the guitarist one of the greatest song writers in music history. Their lyrics are always profound and top shelf. They were one of the most popular bands of the 90s and still.
Such good music in the 90's. Mtv Unplugged was a show on Mtv where the greatest bands and artists would perform their songs like the title of the show says, unplugged. Other bands I really liked their Unplugged performances from are Nirvana and Pearl Jam. All 3 bands are Seattle grunge bands. Worthy to check out more.
My favorites of Alice In Chains are Rooster, Rain When I Die, Down In A Hole and Dam That River, but there's lots of others too. There's no voice like Layne's.
Donna I have seen you thank me for the chair several times now bless your heart! You are a national treasure to me. Get well soon Kathy. Lulu, you are the GOAT! (see what I did there?)
Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell are great harmonizers. Almost sounds like one voice and it's actually very haunting. This song's lyrics are dealing with Layne's addiction to heroin and Jerry's efforts to help him kick the habit. Layne realizes there are "no excuses" for him to continue using the drug. "Everyday it's something hits me all so cold, I find me sitting by myself, no excuses, then I know." Despite Layne's struggles, Jerry will stand with him- "You my friend, I will defend, and if we change, well I'll love you anyway."
If you want to hear more Alice in Chains please allow me to suggest a couple that I think you might like. - Would: ua-cam.com/video/Nco_kh8xJDs/v-deo.htmlsi=4PKI_mq_YqETOMVU - I Stay Away: ua-cam.com/video/ODTv9Lt5WYs/v-deo.htmlsi=-9tfGt7-VITmQk_t - Heaven Beside You: ua-cam.com/video/TEAylKJb-to/v-deo.htmlsi=gEfK69nZxlhzDTp3
My dog was named Lulu but she passed 2 years ago. I had a dream about her last night and now UA-cam suggested this video with Lulu in it. Funny how the universe works. Checkout Alice in Chains song "I know Somethin' (bout you)" its extremely funky and good
You would do yourtselves an awesome service by deep diving into Alice's music, not just in terms of reactions but just to do it. Not just my fav AIC song but fav song of all time period. Such a bittersweet story as lead vocalist Layne Staley passed away a few years after this. As Jerry Cantrell, the bands lead guitarist and writer of this song wrote as one of the last lines "You my friend/ I will defend/ And if we change, well I love you anyway." Awesome reaction. Check out Alice In Chains "Would" BTW.
Hello ladies, love your reactions. Please do Alice In Chains, "Love Hate Love" live at the Moore. P.S. you may want to strap yourselves in for that one! Get well soon, Kathy.
Back when MTV actually played music and not dumb reality show stuff lol 1991 was the break out year for "grunge rock" with Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains *although AIC album came out in 1990. Layne has one of the best voices from the 90s era along with Chris Cornell. also Chris Cornells ex wife Susan Silver, mother to his daughter Lilly, managed AIC, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden at different times. And all 4 bands were friends and toured together or followed behind the others when touring. All the songs from this performance are great and same goes for Nirvana at MTV you can pick any of the songs and enjoy them. Im sure other have suggested songs so i will just agree you cant go wrong with AIC lol
The man (Layne pink hair) is dying in front of us and at this point, he had NO TEETH!! That's how good he was. I bet a million you would have never known. Now, go back and listen and watch, you will catch it now. He gets that mush-mouth for an instant a few times. Has a rough time with "excuses". We all knew it was just a matter of time. Nobody was surprised when they heard they found his body. Sad situation.
He didn't actually loose his teeth until later. You can see them in other photos and videos from around the same time. He does have a slight slur at a couple of points but that could be the heroin he had to take the be able to perform. He was apparently coughing up blood backstage x
Although I love their live performances in my honest opinion this one is not a great example of his vocal ability and I'm not a fan that the tempo is faster than normal. They have been my absolute favorite band my whole life and Layne is without doubt one of my 2 favorite vocalists.
Please Reaxt To A Video Called " Death Note: The Life & Death Of Chalino Sanchez | True Narcocorridos Ep. #3 " The Video Is 13 Minutes And 13 Seconds! Basically He Was The Tupac Of Mexico! Thank You!
#GabrielHenrique is my suggestion. Gabriel Henrique's cover stand up by Cynthia Eriva Gabriel Henrique''s cover earth song by Michael Jackson Gabriel Henrique's cover and i a telling you i'm not going by Jennifer Hudson

Don't forget to add that Metallica were attending the show, they were front row.

Layne Staley has one of the best voices in Rock.🤘
You may as well go ahead and watch the entire show. Every song is a banger.

I like Them Bones.
Good shouts, Rotten Apple is my favorite.
How is one of the biggest bands of the 90s "underrated?" It's like calling Led Zeppelin underrated.

Their vocal harmonies are fantastic and MTV should bring back this unplugged series

Thanks for watching
Any Alice in Chains would be grand.
Man Layne really sounded great here. It’s a damn shame losing people.
He sounded "good". He had no teeth at this point but that just goes to show how good he was.

Dude. Best band ever. This was later. Layne was dying. Go into their older stuff. Wildly talented and versatile. From metal to ska
You ladies need to react to their song would. Absolute banger. Rip Layne

Alice In The Chains lol. It’s Alice In Chains 😁. Y’all are from DFW, right? This was played on the radio a lot! I know, I played it!

Lanye Staley is one of the best of the 90s RIP
AIC unplugged is regend. I recommend AIC "Brother" , "Rooster", "Got Me wrong" , "would?"
Friends don't let friends get haircuts ladies
I wish Kathy a speedy recovery and I would love to see you all react to The Abyss by Dax one day. 😎
You have to do more reactions to their unplugged set. I suggest the song - Sludge Factory

R.I.P Layne Staley 🥀
Alice in Chains/ Love Hate Love... 🔥
Alice in Chains is worth going down their rabbit hole. Do Love Hate Love live at the Moore. Then Down in a Hole.
Stick with these guys, you won't be disappointed.
I Stay Away
Man in the Box
I’d like to recommend Dan vasc - a metal singer performs amazing grace he’s a UA-cam singer but he’s 👌
