I used to work for Miller in the UK, fantastic equipment. god I miss that job!
What happened? Contracts got closed?
The art of boat building and the art of money is not synonymous
that weld at 1.00 would not pass many inspections , its got huge craters in it , looks cold , is far from continuous , to be honest id have ground it out and tried again , the weld standard that that passes must be very forgiving , is it just a visual , or is any of it actually tested .
Whipping too far definitely... I guess those guys didn't figure out sharp arc settings on that thin gauge material
Or the crater fill🤣
@@powerstroke0459 I don't like crater fill...jus tack it again..plus ur right about turning up the sharp
You should look into synergic silicon bronze welding
Yes
I'm just here to read what the experts have to say....
Once you try Fronius TPSi welding system ..... then we talk welding again
I enjoyed your clip.
You better go back and fix those holes you left at the end of those welds.... You can solve that by giving the weld a extra tack at the end of your weld. Run the weld to the end stop and pull the trigger one more time to add a big tack at the end of your weld. If you don't do that you risk a crack starting from that hole and it can crack all the way back.
Tell em.. ROOF!
100% Correct, source I weld pulse mig aluminum boats in Seattle and have been trained well. Great job to have!
How come the "sexiness" owner doesn't have a NC accent like his weldors? Is he a carpet bagger?
peachees apoyemos a omega el fuerte🌎
Maybe welder shoud use welding mask with over pressured clean air system. Those aluminium gas in you lung can be very bad.
I don't get why the coast guard has to inspect your welds. just another example of government in our business. I am am sick of all government crap.
I doubt they come in and inspect every weld, more like SMJB sends a new employee to a "Coast Guard Approved Inspector" once and that's it
I doubt the CoastGuard has any time to inspect the building of boats. At only 44,000 to 45,000 members I really doubt they have the personnel to lend to for this crap. I hate people using the CoastGuard in there videos just to add some sort of validity.
Lol
If your building any passenger vessel, CG comes and inspects any cropping out of plate, fit up of new plate, then back gouge inspection, final either dye penetrant or vac box
Then leave the country
It’s never about ART but always out the door and cash in hand.
There was a time when men desired their craft over the almighty $$$$$.😡
