The distance from the check rail to the tip of the frog should match whatever standards Maxitrak follow for their wheelsets. One UK standard is “GL5” but I don’t know if this is what Maxitrak use. Here in Australia, we have the AALS standards so everything runs nicely together. The GL5 specified check gauge is 4.810” vs AALS which is 4.803”, near enough equal for practical purposes.
Nice!! Great work trimming the rails. That is a nice fit. The operation looked nice and smooth. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Larry. If I had milled them instead of cutting/grinding they would have turned out prettier, but so far they seem to work fine.
Kep is a good helper. He deserves his own car...
When he settles down a bit from T-Rex mode. 🤣🦖
Great job have a great day 😀 see next time
Thank you, Frank!
Thank you for sharing. I like it, very nice. Have a great weekend Stan. Raining here in N.E. Ohio.👍
Will do. Thanks! Tomorrow we're off to see our 9" wheel molds get cast iron poured into them.
On the grind😊 Looking good and Kep seems to approve 👍
I ran out of patience to make the grind mill-perfect, so it's a bit ragged in places-- kinda like me I guess. 🤣
Kep: (kêp) Thai for great helper [albeit, sometimes a distraction] 😂
Great work on the switcher! Looking forward to the completion!
Fun fact on Kep's name, thanks! He does get in the way a lot! 🤣
@StanFerris here's the fun fact...I totally made that up 😂, great puppy, though!
