Pastirče iz Škoparjeve hiše 11.1.2023

This song was also one of the first songs we learned as a group back in the summer of 2019.
The video was recorded in an old semi wooden house behind the castle in Škofja Loka and it was our first performance this year and it was intense ;)

Pastirče mlado i milo,
kaj si se tako stužilo?
Ja uzmem frulu pa sviram,
da svoju dragu dozivam!
Sva gora ječi do frule,
a mene draga ne čuje!
Most people think this song talks about a young shepherd boy who fell in love and lost its flock and you can find it being sung with many stanzas that make it really about that. What people don`t know is that this song in this short original form represents the winter aspect. It may sound strange at first glance why winter because shepherds do not graze their flock in winter ;) in essence the sheepard is the SUN and in the summer the Earth is calling to him to come to her but he has lots of work up high in the sky and tells her to wait untill winter. When winter comes the SUN comes really close to the ground and now he is calling on Earth where is she, but she is sleeping beneth a blanket of snow ;)
