- Take a ride on Puffing Billy, the famous little train in the Dandenong Ranges in the East of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This 2'6" gauge railway running through the beautiful hills lined with tree ferns and greenery everywhere was once part of the Victorian Railways before being closed and then saved by dedicated enthusiasts. Now it is a world famous tourist railway carrying multitudes of visitors every year. Running from Belgrave to Gembrook, it is a trip not to be missed.

That ‘puffing’ and working of the engine as it climbs hills is so magical. @ 11:00 you seemed to have arrived in Gembrook just as the CFA siren was wailing…
The siren started just as the train was arriving. 🙄🤔👍
Lovely video. It brings back many memories. It is a pity that I have moved too far away to get to the Dandenongs often.

I enjoyed the enginemanship in that start away from Fielder.
That was a bit of a test to the crew to lift the train from a stand on that steep grade. 😄 Glad you enjoyed it 👍 😄

I would love to se the full driver's eye view from the camera at head of the engine, like many of the ones you have provided. Will that be happening? I also like the trackside coverage provided, but there's something relaxing about 'being on' the train as it traverses the route.

Puffing Billy is really cool, except for when you're one of those people waiting at the crossing for it to pass, at glacial pace.
