@@TravelTomTom on last november when we arrived ,we received free sim with some minutes free to any country .but we brought sim with ID because sim you receive with visit end when ur visit finish .
Dubai is clearly the most expensive place I could imagine one could use mobile data in. Not far behind are Canada, New Zealand, the US, and Japan. It makes me wonder how do people enjoy their phones whilst driving.
Great video. You gave clear idea on each sim card and especially on offers. It really helped me a lot. I didn't know I can expect some offers on sim cards. Thanks a lot
Only half info. Discount not included for Burj khalifa apparently only some places like Aquarium, ski, waterworks. And Careem is only up to 25 dirham off per trip
I read that, one person can only have 1 sims / 1 number. So how can you buy a new one at a store if you already been given a free 1 days sims card at the immigration control? The store has to cancel the 1 day free one first?
Du and Etisalat are the major and only "serious" carriers in the UAE. Virgin mobile and other carriers are just a joke here and its mostly thanks to the government monopoly. Both Du and Etisalat are owned by the government and it is a huge monopoly, meaning they can charge unfairly for basic internet. Etisalat beats Du 100% though. As a person who is born here and still lives here every single person, no matter expat or local uses Etisalat simply because of the better coverage and overall stability. They also have the fastest internet simply because they block like 50% of websites here 😂 Anyways great video and it looked like a fun adventure for you running around the Airport and the mall too. Hope you enjoy your card.
Haha thanks! I loooove Dubai. Happy with your advices. Massive thanks and I am sure people are going to use your Dubai sim card advice. I will definitely buy an Etisalat prepaid sim card next time on my trip to dubai thanks to your explanation! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Can we recharge / top up with the free DU SIM card given to us at the airport? To recharge only Du to Du or can be Du to Etisalat? or that free SIM cannot be recharged?
I am indian here the price of 1 gb is almost 10 rupees. Thats means you can run 7gb data in 1 doller.. if you buy high price package you will get low per gb price.. it may be 8gb per doller cheapest data in the world. Thnx to jio.
Hey thank you for the informative video. I'm heading to Dubai tomorrow for a week and a half. I won't be using the internet a lot but I want to make sure that I'm covered for my stay. What would you recommend is the best option? Also, what is the 40% deal?
Thank you so much. Now I won't need to spend $50 on a crappy international sim, instead I can just buy one at the airport. Headed to Dubai the next week.
Hi am using an iPhone 14pro e sim only us version, I'll be flying next week to dubai will I be able to get a esim on the date of arrival in the airport
hello... i'm gonna stay 5 days in dubai next month.. if I get the free sim card from du in the arrival it comes with a local number right? because i'd like it only to register in some apps like DTC (for taxi), whatsapp, telegram etc.. do all the places in dubai have free wifi right? because we can call through de wifi right? i'm a little bit lost
Great Informative video and thank you for all the hustle undertaken for all of us soon to travel to UAE.!! You do not mention if all these data sim cards are also good all over the UAE i.e. Abu Dhabi, OR Ras al Khaimah for example? Tc thx!
Yes these are UAE sim cards and although different Emirates, it is one country. There is no border or anything. You can use your Dubai sim card in Abu Dhabi and the other way around no problem.
Du telecom is awful, they gave us a sim at airport and we charged 100 AED , after 7 days we used only 30% but it suddenly stopped working. after over 2 hours standing in line in du telecom they said ,"we can't do anything and you can buy another one". That's a shame
Wonderful information and thank you for sharing. Just out of curiosity did you try doing a upload and download speed test to see what you were getting for speeds? I'd be very curious to see if you have done that or if not if you could do that and let us know what the speeds are. Additionally I know you said that they are very restrictive as far as video calling. Is there any video calling capability of any type of service at all that you know will work? Or.... Is there a way of using your phone's VPN to bypass any restrictions to allow you to do video calling? Third question. If I'm in Dubai but I'm trying to access things back in the USA to do my work or anything else, are there any restrictions as far as what I can or cannot access if I use the phone for data communication back and forth to the USA? RSVP with any answers if possible and again thanks for the video and look forward to your replies :-)
man what you got is expensive infact you would buy sim from local shops especially for virgin sim with 225 AED we get 7GB + 750 mins free + 300 international mins free. Overall this plan was good
@@TravelTomTom yes it is expensive but along with that you are also getting free voice call within Dubai and international I don't think with that price DU & Etisalat offer such scheme.

Free sim can be charged. You can buy top-up cards from many stores or go to the carrier shops in the mall.

If I’m living in Dubai for 7 months what is the cheapest option?
You cant even get a prepaid sim card for tourists because it is only valid for 1 month
You need a postpaid or prepaid with your emirates id
Is the sim valid for a month or more than a month !
More than a month. Package for 1 month
from now on-words dxb is giving du sim for free on tourist visa
They have always done that! Watch the video

Is currently everyone getting a free 1GB sim card after arriving at Dubai?
Yes but read the blog, link in bio what it actually is.
Yep I saw that. Only valid for 24h and only 1gb. But that's sufficient for going from the airport to the Airbnb 🙂
