I think my hubby has caught the dumpster diving bug! Finally! He and my 16 year old just left the house to go make the rounds to rescue stuff from going to the landfill that can be donated, sold or consumed. I hate the waste. I’ve showed them your videos so they can see that stores literally waste stuff all the time. It’ll be interesting to see what they come back with. 👍🏻. I stopped by my Aldi the other day emboldened by your channel I wanted to give this a try. The dumpster was full of potatoes and apples. I came away with a bag of red potatoes that I fried in the air fryer and wow they're awesome.
Stores are so wastefull. They could donate all of that food. Just think of how much doesn't get pick up by a dumpster diver. I am so glad to see yall getting this food? I am 100% for dumpster diving for food.

with all the apples you get, you can peel and slice them, freeze them and then make apple sauce or apple jelly and then can them in that big canning pot you found
I usually shop for clearance items......last week I got Italian bread crumbs for 77 cents, regularity 1.50.... just yesterday I wind up getting flowers....peach orange color roses.....from a flower vendor......a man gave money to buy but said to the vendor give me the flowers he bought and walked away.....the vendor did so....lifting my mood a bit since I had been grievous over the week
I know many comments have said this... But I can't believe the amount of waste! That food looks so good! My husband and I are very hard workers and we struggle financially to provide good nutritious food for our growing family... And they just throw it away. 💔
Those strawberries looked delicious . I have made carrot , zucchini , apple bread before so yummy and add some chia seeds and flax meal or most of the time I use chia or flax eggs .

Here where we live if we ask in the produce section for veggies and fruit scraps for chickens they give you all you need. Most are still good and some goes to the chickens.
I’d love to see you team up with Crazy Lamp Lady on her metal detecting forays. She also fixes and resells lamps. They live somewhere North of Philly, I think. Her kids are sweet also. I think the humor would spark .
Today I was looking for ideas for making purse/phone charms and jewelry. Need to make some things to sell to supplement retirement. I am not a crafter, but will learn.

Here in Memphis, Tennessee...all food that's still variable goes to M.I.F.A....that's one of many religious organizations than band together to take care of the elderly...homeless...food shortages around the tri-state area. That's what I found out when I asked an employee of Aldi's. Merchandise get destroyed being dumped. Anyway it's what my Dad would call a hustle. What someone don't want repurpose and help someone else...being elderly or cash strapped. Oh...on that package of ground beef...when it makes a big bubble, then you know something is gone wrong. Well that's about it. Stay blessed and frugally happy😉😊👌

When it's summer I'll take a cooler in my car, adding some freezer blocks (like you use while camping) and then immediatly will put chicken and meat stuff into that before I drive home and that's even when I just buy store bought meat. You know why they throw all that good food away in those dumpsters and most of it's good food it's a write off they get their money either way instead of donating it two people that need it they'd rather throw it in the dumpster and honestly I'm sorry to me that's a shame before God so you know how I feel about it if it's in there and it's good food and you and your children can eat it bless your heart go on in those dumpsters and get it honey

Try this out...find out when the truck comes...in the Mid-South the new sales starts on Wednesday, so look early that morning...again on Saturday/Sunday. Someone may be getting there ahead of you. Before my early retirement...I shopped mark downs...saved a bunch on meats and such. Just a valuable hint to help you haul journey.

The Malta.... its a strange drink... usually seen here in Miami.. most people drink it straight from the bottle (its a bit TOO strong for me) it is non alcoholic but reminds me somewhat of the taste of Bock Beer. I LOVE it poured over vanilla ice cream to make an Ice Cream Float!
You will see Malta in places where there is a large Latin American population. It is an acquired taste. Strong and yeasty and as Connie Swanson states non alcoholic. It has a nice tempering affect on sweet creamy foods. In fact one of my Anthropology teachers liked to make milk shakes with it. It is derived from yeast. Besides the Crown brand Goya also makes and sells Malta.
That what I am worrying about. I just started diving at a small Aldis and with the weather warming up, I'm not gonna get healthier food at the right temp. A friend said to bring a cooler bag or 2 but we really want meats and refrigerated, freezer stuff more then a ton of veges and fruit like we got last week. Advice?
I don't know if in will ever do what you do. But one thing I will say is the amount of waste that this country throws away is sad. All that food could be donated to a variety of community pantries, shelters etc.

The malta is a malt drink can be drank as is or mixed with milk and sugar and some prefer it as a punch mixed wth an egg yolk and sugar
