The rapper is Jeon Soyeon, she is G-idle’s leader and music creator. Her rapping skills are beyond exceptional.
actually holographic technology has advanced, look at hatsune miku, virtual popstar lol, called a vocaloid, she has had plenty of concerts over the years and it looks better every year. and actually is a possible performer for the 2020 Olympics in japan

Basically how it worked is, people had AR (augmented reality) glasses which allowed them to see the characters on stage and special effects (im not sure if everyone had them, or just special guests, and whether they were free or not)
But if you looked at the scene with just your eyes, you would see the 4 singers, but not the game characters

FYI. For the introduction, they showed the 4 characters. Each was shown in the base LOL form, followed by the KDA version.
I think the audience have special goggles so they can see the characters

They had the AR gear for spectators at the previous worlds, but for this I believe it was just displayed on screen.
They motion-captured the real singers to mimic their actual dancing.

The animated characters were actually the actual singers motion captured. So when they were dancing, it was the same as the singers actually dancing.

if you see more of G-idle's music videos, so-yeon and miyeon are actually really good dancers. haha. idk about the american singers but im sure for this stage, the actual artists probably didnt want to do too much of the dancing or they didnt have to since the AR would show the full range of motion for the dances. although im pretty sure the artists did the mocap for the AR as well so the movements you are seeing from the AR are their own. If you watch the behind the scenes videos, the artists did the mocap for the dancing in the MV so that probably got translated over to the AR models.
In the (G)I-DLE project behind video, they show that the girls actually made the 3D dance themselves using motion capture suits, it's pretty crazy

Yep, The Future Has Arrived!! Actually Riot isn't the first to have mastered this technique. Although it does appear to be a significant upgrade from Miku.
Hatsune Miku is technically the first holographic artist to have her own Guinness World Record.
She has become so popular in Japan. That she actually has her own band and tours around to sold out concerts lol.
Some traditionalists have worried that this could replace live concerts. But I don't think that will happen anytime soon.
If anything it will help to enhance it. This performance however really does blow the mind. I had to take a double-take myself the first time I saw it lol. :b
Just want to notice that they are holograms. This is not just montage. Everyone saw them. This is the same thing that 2017 with the big dragon.
One of the best parts in my opinion is Soyeon and Akali interacting on stage. I mean they actually used playback to make the distinction between the real life singer and the virtual representation, for frick sake. That's dang impressive.
Beat saber just got me hooked to a virtual kpop girl group. That really is a kick as song. Hoping maybe for a miracle of more quality songs and performances.
The two of g idle are Soyeon is the rapper and miyeon is the singer.
So the characters were through AR (Augmented Reality) and the audience too had some special glasses through which they could see them

John, trust me when I say you're lucky that Lulu was so into KDA. I tried getting my wife to watch the video and all she focused on were that they were all girls in tight clothing and became all judgy. My 5 year old girl loves the song and I told her that this is what she gets to look forward to. It's a great time to be a nerd.
We're both hooked on the song.... ha! It's even better than the game 😂
If you look at the Jumbotron screen the audience can see them live on that. They're not holograms tho, soon hopefully lol
That's funny that you guys didn't know that they used augmented reality. So fans were holding up their cell phones and through the app, they could see the digital singers.
You should listen to Hann(Alone), LATATA, or Senorita by (G) Idle. After finding them through K/DA they ended up becoming one of my favorite groups.

AR, not hologram.. There is a difference. You could buy special glasses so you could see them otherwise, you couldn't..
I believe that the audience members did see the AR but they could only see them on the screen (essentially think Pokémon Go AR feature on the screen)

Yes. Humanity has advanced. That's actually possible since my school implemented that during an opening ceremony. Like the one from 2018. They used a Dragon. My school used its own signature animal which is a lion. Really cool watching a holographic lion prancing around 😁

Its augmented reality if the audience were watching through Cell PHONEs or VR glasses they would see the virtual performers. They are not holograms. Holograms would need a clear cubed screen to work and then there could be no one going though

@@ReactToTheWorld K/DA was just supposed to be a one time thing to promote skins for the game but Riot ended up creating a new religion. The same thing happened a few years ago when they made a skin based on Sailor Moon and it ended up with people wanting more so then we got a bunch of characters with the skin line called 'Star Gaurdian'.
I live in Europe myself but I don't know much about French music so I'm not sure what to expect but since the community agrees that the music, animation and skin team aren't as drunk as the balance team I'm sure we will get something spectacular.

Considering how "big" league of Legend is, I was actually disappointed when I saw this opening. I mean, really ? You couldn't do a search or contest or something to actually find 4 people that struck close to the 4 characters in the video ? Maybe even gotten a little creative with costumes or something ? Cosplayers do it all the time, so what we basically have is singers singing the same song, and the digital inserts are almost an embarrassment.
