Eddy took piano lessons for several years and managed to get to grade 7 I believe before quitting to focus on violin. His sister (Belle Chen) is also a professional pianist
No, it doesn't. His fingers are really, really curved to the point that they're almost circles. Also, he was intentionally playing badly for this. (He's a good amateur, not a beginner, but a violin major, and not a piano major.)
The most impressive thing about Sophie here is that in the Grieg, she turns the pages for Eddie even though what he’s playing has nothing to do with what’s on the page. She’s a great pianist and violinist, and she can read minds too.

nah, just play it fast
Eddie approximating the general direction of where the sheet music seems to point.
Love it, I'd never be able to just yolo full speed, I'd crawl down to like 20 bpm and play it note by note. It's got nice jazz vibes, too!
Eddy isn't even a beginner, he is just not as far as good as the professional.
And he's obviously trying to be funny
Eddy took piano lessons for several years and managed to get to grade 7 I believe before quitting to focus on violin. His sister (Belle Chen) is also a professional pianist
Well a true beginner wouldn’t be able to play it at all. XD
He play piano but I think he is more focus on violin
@@kiramortwilson7411 yeah a true beginner wouldn’t be able to read the notes.
Well if you looks at his hand position, you’ll know he can actually play the piano quite well. He’s obviously exaggerating it😂
Yes this is obvious
Well he is also a trained comedian...

@@ayej26 It means looking over a piece of music before actually playing it. Like Key changes, rests, sharps, flats, yada yada yada.........
If u mute the video it actually looks, like eddy is a professional pianist XD
Just gotta act confident XD
No, it doesn't. His fingers are really, really curved to the point that they're almost circles. Also, he was intentionally playing badly for this. (He's a good amateur, not a beginner, but a violin major, and not a piano major.)
@@lifeontheledgerlines8394 Yeah, his form was not that great.
Comicadia not really his form was not there you could tell he was doing it on purpose but still

I’m saying how tf is HE a beginner?
I can’t even read music 😭
lmao same and to think i’ve been playing the piano for almost 3 years 🤦🏼♀️
The most impressive thing about Sophie here is that in the Grieg, she turns the pages for Eddie even though what he’s playing has nothing to do with what’s on the page. She’s a great pianist and violinist, and she can read minds too.
The sound of butchered Chopin is now one of my biggest fears
Yeah lol
Haha same
Oh, these puns))0)

Too many ChoPuns for today
No, seriously, we should stop this
Brett should’ve done this one for he actually does not know how to play as well as Eddie does
LastOtter yeah that’s what I thought
they both learned piano and brett knows how to play pieces but still majors in violin, im guessing eddy is better at piano cos hes been playing more for certain things for their tour
8:49 Her: Time for him to completely fail again.
8:55 Her: Wait it actually sounds not horrible wtf
9:17 Wow, it's been fine up till here.
9:28 Her: There we go
The Grieg. I see you Eddy. Still goofing around...but flexing at the same time. 8:48 and 10:00. I would love to watch him play seriously and show us his real piano skills.
This is so different from all the Beginner vs Pro videos because Eddy is clearly intermediate
Kilmor meh i'd say amateur or something between beginner and intermediate
His sight reading was decent, to be honest.
Flying Swordfish well that comes from being a violinist and it was pretty inaccurate but yet again no beginner could have read that with that speed.
I agree, beginner really like me, do not dare to try those professional pieces.
He is a beginner...

He did piano before Violin !
He played piano for 7 years.
You know, if you hear Eddy's scales the right way, you can actually hear Prokofiev.
It's that sophisticated.
*She was paid to play, smile, and watch as a Beginner butchered every piece she ever studied.* Lol
He's actually a classically trained professional violinist and she is their touring accommpying pianist. I think he is playing it up for laughs.

Do you know when to turn a page when reading a book? Literally the same thing 😂
You just a little more practice.... its not difficult tbh just try to get used to it.

*triggered jazz musician who spends half of his life practicing scales xD
Jacek Jazz musician practices scales? That’s first from me as a classically trained violinist!
I don't understand what "that's first from me" means in English (seriously). We have a "jazz for classical musicians" course on a jazz department in a conservatory and they're totally lost XD
@@sam8603 "Jazz players practice scales?" I don't know ask oscar peterson
If this is the “beginner” level, why am I even trying to learn the piano at all?
Are you asian?
I gave up long ago, but I still love piano!
He's been to music school and had lessons. I'm pretty sure Eddy can play much better than he's demonstrating in the video if you've heard him accompany Brett on piano. He's not a professional but he's not a "beginner" like in the trumpet video or something
As part of the piano gang, I can just hear and see the pure talent of Sophie oui oui. She is so A M A Z I N G. Literally blew my mind. Mad respect for her. And mad respect for Eddy because he can play well with the slower parts and he's very capable of the more intricate sections while also conveying emotion. Love y'all
Bruh i just started learning to play piano and with the fingers of a twelve yo its kinda hard. I tried doing fast notes and i just kept hurting my hand
hey! 13 year old here. been playing for almost 9 years. my best advice to you is play what you would want to hear. don’t just be the performer, be the audience as well. it will help you improve as you progress in your learning.

Ah oui oui
Want to know a secret about playing at that level? No joke... almost guarantee you that she either _was_ ambidextrous _before_ she learned to play. Or she learned so early, that she _became_ completely! Try to teach your non-dominant hand to write & draw. Takes years of work for most of us to use both equally.😁💕
