- Jenny Rodgers went to a regular OB-GYN visit for her 20-week ultrasound expecting everything to be normal. Instead, the news she received was earth-shattering. Her baby had only half his heart -- a rare and life-threatening condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS). Jenny and her husband Philip chose Texas Children’s Hospital to ensure the best possible care for their son. Aiden Rodgers was born at Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women and just four days later, he had the first surgery to help repair his half-formed heart and get him home. @@wongjock648 he’s doing well! He was the INCU for 2 months😞 turns out my son has a rare syndrome called VACTERL his heart condition is called double ventricle outlet he’s had 1 surgery and he will need another one in a few months praying for you and your family everything will be ok❤️

I have hypoplastic left heart syndrome and I am 21 years old and I have a pacemaker and I went through lots of surgeries my whole life and now I am perfectly healthy with half a heart and a pacemaker

I had this surgery when I was small, I actually didn't new about this till I was I think 8 years (14 now) and I wasn't restricted to anything, I only had asthma but now gone and now I am experiencing Gerd symptoms and will have an appointment in Saturday with the same doctor who did my surgery.

My 1st born was a boy born 2018 with HLHS. He survived 2 years and a few months. What a joirney we had in and out of hospital and all the appointments. He passed away October 2020 😭😭😭 Oh how I miss him 😭😭💔 Your kids are luck to have the help they can get. In Tonga my son couldn't get the help he needed 😭😭😭

I got to know yesterday about my baby .. I am 36 week .. I hope my baby comes out stronger and sustains the surgery.. if anyone can please pray for me and my child.. We need this the most 😔

My first grandchild Samuel was born January 16, 2003 with HLHS at the University of Michigan. God answered our pleas, and he is thriving . . . . in college, and soon to be engaged! He has lived his life as a normal, beautiful child. His life is blessed in every way, and he brings me pure joy. Of course, I will pray for your family!

I’m 29 week pregnant and the doctors told me my baby has hlhs but they said to me he’ll not breath after birth and he’ll die so don’t do it anything but you return hope to me , I’m syrian and living in KSA it’s very hard and expensive to do surgery here ! We didn’t even have an insurance 😔😔 I hope my baby be lucky like yours god blesses him ❤️

The medical system in South Africa has failed us the gynae did not pick up on this syndrome and there was no priority for my nephew ,he was born on the 11th of Aug 2021 and passed away 13th Aug 2021 ee are broken if only we knew we would of prepared 😢 💔

I am 31 weeks now and We also informed that our baby is with HLHS through anomaly scan. Both of us are hopeless. Because doctors said that there are no facilities in sri lanka for such disease and sometimes he would be die after birth 😪😪Please pray for my baby🙏🙏

@@sureshkumar-ic4hv very sorry for this situations. Acutely my baby did not had half of the heart ( one part growth was stopped ) . We have tried a lot, but doctors said recover impossible. And scanned so many times,but every time we got same reports,so were gave up after suggestions from doctors and family.Pleae makesure follow your's doctors and family suggestions.Be possitive,this is way of life. We are just humans.
@Ankit Jindal we had twin boys. elder one is diagnosed hlhs.he felt trouble in breathing after 8 hours.was kept in ICU for 3 day..his condition worsened on each single day..finally he left us on his 3rd day.his mother not even seen him..

My granddaughter was just born with this. She goes in for Glenn surgery next month. As a grandfather I’m scared to death but can’t let my daughter see that. These last 2 months have been insane. We lived at the hospital for the first month after her first surgery. Ronald McDonald house saved us. But yea it’s scary my daughter and granddaughter live with me and Mom my wife. It’s nothing but feeds meds oxygen checks over and over all day and night. It’s a rough thing to go through. Glad your son is doing great. I hope my granddaughter will be just fine she’s my best friend.🙏🙏🙏
