Remakes are tough if you do your own thing fans get pissed it isn't close enough to the source and if you do the same thing fans get pissed it isn't new enough lol. For me with remakes, I prefer when they do their own thing as long as they keep the core concept. The less I have to compare the original to a remake the more I can judge a remake as its own film. Some people are going to complain it doesn't have the dark gothic atmosphere of the original but that's also on purpose because they don't want to repeat that movie. If this film can work as its own thing with its own version of the characters then I will be able to judge it more as its own movie. This easily looks like the 2nd best Crow movie of the bunch already.
This trailer made me have a new appreciation for The Crow: Wicked Prayer

I’m excited for it. I used to think the original was great until I rewatched it recently. It wasn’t some amazing untouchable piece of cinema. It had charm but plenty of room for improvement. I’m down for a new take on the movie.
No< don't see it. What the original killed, and I like the original, about the book was how they died. The book was heart wrenching because Eric watched. The original movie changed that but still sort of kept that tragedy That's what sets the tone for the story. This one, plastic bags? Really? Then you have the resurrection. It seams Eric doesn't have to pull himself from the grave and that's an issue that's important as well. Coming back to life and finding yourself buried. Also, didn't see a hint of Gabriel, Sarah (Sherri in the comic) or Albrecht. All important characters in the book and in the original. Just as the villains. Fun boy, TinTin, Top Dollar, T-Bird and Skank (Tom-Tom in the book.... In the book he get's his feet cut off, it's kinda cool.) Look, not going to dunk on the accents which makes it seem it actually takes place in Europe but it's there. Hey look, you want to make a Crow movie, make a Crow movie. Just make your own story. Look, I'll say this, after you watch this movie, message me and let me know. Is there the cowboy or the Cat in the Hat for that matter? Is Albrecht white this time ( I love Ernie Hudson but in the book Albrecht is white.)? Sorry for the tirade but details matter. I mean, imagine remaking The Evil Dead/ Army Of Darkness where Ash has a dildo instead of a Chainsaw.
100 percent agree. If your going to remake the crow. Then let’s not do this John wick with crow wallpaper with post Malone auto-tune music shit .Let’s make it look like the graphic novels. Maybe a Sin City Robert Rodriguez vibe. And more importantly let’s make sure there’s aTRAGIC vibe to it. Let’s make it look dark, gothic, grimy and violent. And oh I don’t know some haunting music. This movie looks too clean and so far has laughable music for the trailer. Also the look of bill skars…. I’m sorry but to me he doesn’t look the part. At least have rocker hair like mick mars which would be accurate to the crow graphic novel and oh I don’t know white fucking makeup. They made top dollar into an old Rich white man?…. Why?… is that some kind of statement. In the graphic novel I’m pretty sure too dollar had long hair and goatee and was a dark scary scumbag. Geez Hollywood maybe you oughta stop trying so hard to please the muppets and make some films

I have Norwegian heritage, but not actually from there. My grandfather immigrated when he was a kid. I know Bill is Swedish, but I'm not sure if I missed something.
@@NORSEVIKING oh I see… well I’m pure blooded scandi so I’ve obviously grown up with the culture and all so it might just be me making philosophical connections based off of that n stuff. But anyways like you said bill is also Swedish aka Norse blood, and in Norse mythology oden brings those who died in battle to Valhalla, and he have two birds (they are ravens to be fair but they do look like crows so whatever) Hugin and Munin. So it’s like Oden is bringing Eric aka bill back to life. It sounds super far off when I’m trying to explain it if you aren’t familiar with the religion, so I guess it’s one of those if you know you know kinda situation. But I hoped some of it made sense anyway lol

Look closer exam in the video the CGI is shit, the city doesn’t look like it’s on universe. It looks like it takes place in John Wick, and the dialogue is cringe. There’s nothing special about it. Nobody is delivering a crazy performance if it wasn’t for all the violence in the video we would say.… Also one final note does anybody else feel like we just saw the whole movie from beginning to end in the trailer rehab check them and check them dying Check him coming back check him killing people without make up check on the make up check all the villains have supernatural elements, Check not to mention they said he doesn’t even make up until the third act of the film for one and that seems silly
I’m not gonna jump to conclusions yet. I’ll wait and see…
I want you to do something huge take a Ernie Hudson scene take a scene of the TV movie / show that plays the exact same character and react to both then watch the scene in the trailer where he is like I killed you and Eric says yes you did you will understand it’s the detective it’s the Ernie Hudson character
It's look interesting to me due to the look in the comics. There a crow character thats tattooed. This makes up for wicked prayer. I enjoyed crow salvation for that storyline.
I’m super hyped even James o bar the creator of the series wrote and produced and ran what happened with city of angels that was the worst of the series wicked prayer is a step above the crow with Brandon lee is above that then I like the TV movie and show then salvation is my all time favorite this isn’t showing enough for me to be able to rank it or so where I would put it bad boys 4 just got a trailer they come out the exact same day

I'm not going to 💩 your comment but what I will say is this. Try looking at it with a different frame of mind. Look at it as a love story more than a revenge story and then taking the scenes between him and a shelly and with that then look at therevenge aspect after to see if you see it differently.
@@thetrasharoundmyplastic6342 It's a revenge story led by love, what are you trying to say? The original was already doing this, it was just in flashbacks that you could see Shelly. It still doesn't hit if I know that, it just feels generic and light hearted compared to the original and revenge movies in general
@@MrJojoringo that's what I'm saying that's what it disconnect is this movie is emphasizing more on the love aspect and not as much of that revenge aspect you're actually getting origin story that's going to pull you in and make you feel the connection as opposed to just having the connection shown to you that's a huge difference in storytelling. I can feel it I believe when you watch this trailer you were already in slightly biased you were going in ready to hate so you didn't let yourself feel it. Sometimes you have to watch these movies and free your mind is if you're watching something new for the first time. It's like Bruce Lee said empty your mind. A lot of people are coming in already emotional based off of the first picture alone it's not what they expected so automatically they don't like it. Sometimes you have to look at things with different eyes that's what I'm saying.
@@thetrasharoundmyplastic6342 I've already watched what this director has done, people seems to judge just by the trailer but when you know what movies this director has done you already know that this won't be a masterpiece. One of the issues with this trailer is that you already know the whole story, like you said we know that we will have a chronological story this time compared to the original which doesn't mean that it's more based on love than revenge like you said but that it's a normal way to tell a story but the original had already this love thing more than the revenge, you seem to forget it's ok. Listen I don't think that this remake will be an awesome movie, the issue is that everyone will be comparing it with the original which will be miles better, idk why they took the same characters they really could have made another story, the project in itself is already a failure because of that...
Straight the movie looks like a cheap cash grab. “ hey let’s do John wick meets the crow and add some post Malone auto tune music. The vibe isn’t even close to the TRAGIC comics by James OBarr. I think that’s why actual crow fans are mad. We know how tragic the origins of the birth of this comic was. Of course no where near as tragic as James O’Barr. But that’s kinda the problem with this trailer/most likely the movie. The vibe isn’t dark, tragic, dirty/Grundy. It looks too clean, the main bad guy (top dollar) is a rich old white dude… the music in this trailer is shit. The reason why 1994 crow did so well was the vibe was like the comic. It was dark, tragic, dirty and grimy. Brandon Lee looked and acted the part. The music was haunting and epic!. And yes the action and violence was great. The only thing this new version might have going for it is blood and gore and a John wick feel….it’s John wick with crow wallpaper. I ain’t buying it.
This is John wick with crow wallpaper with post Malone auto-tune. That isn’t t even close to the tragic graphic novel by James O’Barr’s the Crow. At the very least I’m a crow movie I think getting the TRAGIC feel is pretty important or else this turns into Hollywood cash grab bullshit. I think it’s disrespectful to play down the tragic/ haunting vibe of James O’Barrs the crow.
It looks good to me, but it looks like he’s depicting him more like the joker than the crow
It looks amazing salvation the TV movie and the show are my all time favorites and this has all 3 plastered all over it has the samurai sword which is an Easter egg to the Brandon movie and the comic where a samurai comes back the eye in the middle of his stomach is an Easter egg to the Brandon movie Brandon is climbing a ladder they show the exact eye and the skull cowboy is there as a human and the detective is there the detective says I killed you the exact words out of his mouth is I killed you Eric says you did it cuts to something else I need a scene where we see the skull cowboy he starts walking the camera goes nuts we see him transform and become the black guy with the umbrella then have the moment where he picks up Eric like he weighs 2 pounds and drops him into the water and he comes back to the land of the living chocking

Probably. I'm sure a lot of people will, but they also hated the idea of making it in the first place. Ever since I shit on Heath Ledger as the Joker before actually watching and being proved wrong, I've tried keeping an open mind. I hope it's good.
@@NORSEVIKINGoh i always try to keep an open mind. but so far it looks generic. and its not eric draven. example snyder and whedon cut. it looks softened up, regardless of brutal killing scenes. as you said, too bright
I've read the leaked plot for the movie. It has nothing to do with the comic. I had the same thought with the lighting. It's too crisp and clean. Needs some grit. I'm also a fan of, well all of the Skarsgards really. Bill is awesome though. Tattoos look like shit, along with his haircut. I'm open to the movie, I just wished they would've used someone else instead of Eric Draven. We'll see, but movies of late have not been good.
This trailer alone body bags the shit out of the sequels minus City Of Angels. The Edward Furlong trash was the worst. This isnt a reboot. Its an adaptation of James Obarrs comic series. They never intended to redo the work of Brandon Lee. They even said so. This from what I see stands nicely as the SECOND proper sequel. Thats how Im seeing it. One was a follow up sequel in City Of Angels and this a re imagining of the Obarr comics. Hey crow fans could have gotten another shitty Furlong type Crow movie so yeah.
If you think it looks good, that’s fine. Everybody has their own taste. But, a readaptation of the same story isn’t a sequel of any kind. It just isn’t.

I was somewhat interested in this project until I saw the trailer. I’ve lost all interest. It looks so sterile and generic.
This movie looks horrible i definitely will not watch this i can already tell it's going to suck. It will not even come close to being as good as the original.
Nothing will ever come close to original and the great Brandon Lee 💔 This looks and feels NOTHING like the Crow... actor looks lame and the whole tone is wrong. Crow world is suppose to feel artistic, dark, gothic, almost post apocalyptic... this looks like just another template generic superhero movie that someone wanted to make slightly darker and "edgy". No artistry with modern day film makers god so sick and tired of these hack making the same generic movies with same generic scenes over and over again!
I agree no one will ever capture what Brandon Lee did. I'd feel better about it if they used a different name for the character.
