I've been a #HomeFry since they win the SingOff. Just a bunch of good guys sharing their beautiful voices.
'Try Everything' from Zootopia is a fun song, 'Helplessly Hoping' is a stunning example of harmonies, Between A Rock and A Heartache is funny, soooo many to choose from! I hope you react to more Home Free, you won't regret it😉

And...another one falls down the rabbit hole. You are so doomed. We’ll save you a chair.
You’re about to be buried in Home Fries. Brace yourself.
Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks while they were scattered across the country. God bless ‘em.
All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He’s a world-class vocal percussionist and there’re good reasons he’s called a “Freak of Nature” and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam’s incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete’s sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain’t Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer (sleigh bells? seriously?) or his drum solos.
For more of Tim’s seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version). This man’s range is incredible. You won’t want to miss his 5-octave run in 5 seconds in “Do You Hear What I Hear?”
For Chance’s smooth baritone/bass, check out Skull & Bones, Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, Cover Me Up, I Can’t Outrun You, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome.. basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow.
For Rob’s soulful tenor, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain’t Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.) One Home Fry has described him as the vocal equivalent of a Swiss Army knife because of his versatility. Just wait until you hear him whistle!
For Austin’s soaring tenor, check out Crazy, Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he’ll sing you right out of it.)
For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Life Is A Highway, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Brother, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget (Tim wrote the worst country song he could think of, and it remains one of their most requested.) A word about “Brother” - if you want to hear the lyrics, you’re going to have to listen with your eyes closed, ‘cause otherwise you’ll never get past the humor of the video to actually hear what they’re singing.
For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam’s arrangement. Nothing else like it.)
For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne.
For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let’s Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female.
The Home Free men are masters of collaborations. They put the spotlight on their collaborator, supporting them with wonderful vocals and amazing harmonies. Check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie and Vincent with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee with the late Kenny Rogers, Don’t Laugh At Me with Mark Wills, Christmas In Dixie with Alabama, Delta Dawn with Brooke Eden, or Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For with Peter Hollens.
Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you’ll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim’s mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay.
Then, when you come up for air, check out Rob’s and Austin’s “Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera.” You’ll need smelling salts after that one.
Don’t miss their official videos. The Home Free men will often do a straight, gorgeous vocal performance, but they’ll add elements of humor to the video that will leave you chuckling or even laughing out loud. (Folsom Prison Blues, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Working For A Living, Brother, Life Is A Highway).
And God help you when you get hit with the Home Free Curse. They’ll cover a song you absolutely cannot stand and make you like it against your will. I’d been hit by the curse four times before I gave up and quit counting. I’m not the only victim of the Home Free Curse, either.
Although their covers are amazing, don’t miss their original compositions. They range from the the poignant (So Long Dixie) to the patriotic (Land Of the Free). These include Dive Bar Saints (one of my favorites), Road Sweet Road, Catch Me If You Can, Lonely Girl’s World, The Stargazer Trilogy (Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lilies, MR), Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget, Love Me Like That, Skull And Bones, and many, many more.
Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road, Only In America) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don’t just own a cover, they upgrade it.”
You are doomed, Home Fry. Bring ketchup.

Welcome to Home Free rabbit hole.
The group started in 2000/2001( there’s contention on the year)by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp
They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular.
They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do.
There is no Lead singer in the group. They each ( except Adam )sing the song and who’s ever voice or voices sound right for the song gets the lead unless is a bass/ baritone song then that’s Tim or Chance.A lot of time they each have a part in the song.
Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries and are very loyal to the guys.
Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire can make almost any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonica (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).Co founder from Mankato Minnesota.
Rob Lundquist :Lead tenor(beard and glasses) Very soulful voice and master whistler from Minneapolis,Minnesota
Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland,Texas
Austin Brown:High Tenor ( Long wavy hair )Voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia. He will be leaving the group in the fall.
Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass Deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County,Alabama.Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder in 2016)
They have collaborated with many singers and legends
    Don McLean: Vincent (newest release)
    Don McLean:American Pie
    Oak Ridge Boys:Elvira
Kenny Rodgers:Children Go Where I Send Thee (Please watch the end message)
    Billy Gilman:One Voice
    Alabama:Christmas In Dixie
Mark Wills:Don’t Laugh At Me ( important message at the end )
Lee Greenwood & US Airforce Band:God Bless The USA
    Any many many more.
They have 3 amazing songwriters in the group Tim,Austin and Chance so they have a very large playlist of covers and original songs
End of the Road (Boyz 2 Men cover )
    When A Loves A Woman
Helplessly Hoping (5 part harmony masterpiece )
    Unchained Melody
    Butts Medley/ Remix
    Listen To The Music
    Can’t Outrun You
    Brothers In Arms
Stargazer Trilogy( All Originals written by Austin)
    Give Me A Sign ( Chapter 1)
    Stargazer Lilies( Chapter 2)
    MR ( mister) (Chapter 3)
Skull And Bones ( original written by Chance for Ubisoft new video game Skull And Bones)
    Playing With Fire ( Original)
    Remember My Name (Original)
    Oh Pretty Woman
    Life Is A Highway
    Stand By Me
    Cruise
    Colder Weather
Ring Of Fire ( 2024 version)
    Jump Right In
    Any Way The Wind Blows
    I’ve Seen
Mayday(DON’T WATCH TILL YOU ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE GROUP AND THEIR RANGES )
There's not a song that you pick from their 200+ catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet.
They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is IMO
Sorry for the long read 🏠🍟

Love Home Free. Tim Foust is the bass. Another group is VoicePlay they were on the Sing-Off together. VoicePlays bass Geoff Castellucci also did a cover of this song. Geoff likes to clone to sing and harmonize with himself. VoicePlays covers everything from Metallica to Disney. For VoicePlay I will subscribe.

This is one of the most popular Home Free songs. It was the first song I ever heard from Home Free & I was instantly hooked. It really showcases the talent of these 5 men (their tight harmonies, Tim Foust's bass & Adam Rupp's incredible beatboxing). They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old (about 100 yrs.) & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney. Not only do they do awesome covers but they also have a lot of original songs as 3 of them are songwriters.

    Left to right
    Rob - Chance - Austin - Adam - Tim
    Welcome.
As soon as we tell you they are a country group, that they are a cappella and what parts they each sing, you’ll find the exceptions.
If you like this style of music, I recommend “Folsom Prison Blues” next. Same five guys, but less Austin, more Chance and Tim.
For pop fun, “Can’t Stop the Feeling”.
For sad country “I Can’t Outrun You”.
    Thanks

Great first reaction to our #HomeFree guys! As other will tell you, their catalogue is deep and you will not be disappointed! From more great covers (we call them upgrades), and amazing collaborations where they always ensure the featured artist(s) shine, to fantastic originals; you'll find many genres and songs from sweet, silly or serious and everything in-between. My (current) Top 5 in each of these categories are:
    Covers/Upgrades:
I Can't Outrun You - video concept and direction by Chance
Brother - hilarious video; you'll likely need to watch a second time to concentrate on the lyrics and harmonies
One Man Band - video shot in one-take
Stand By Me - they've taken a classic and given it new life, while respecting the original
Castle on the Hill - great harmonies and a sweet video/storyline
    Collaborations:
Vincent feat. Don McLean - their newest and perhaps one of their best thus far; Don's masterpiece about the life of Vincent Van Gogh
American Pie feat. Don McLean - done separately during Covid at Don's request for the 50th anniversary of this American folk classic
God Bless the USA feat. Lee Greenwood and the USAF Singing Sargeants - also done separately during Covid for the song's 25th anniversary - listen for Adam's snare drum and flyover at the end
The Horses feat. Travis Collins and Amy Sheppard - this is apparently an anthem in Australia
Dreamer LIVE at the Ryman feat. Texas Hill - also an original, but done with a fun mid-song intro of everyone (Texas Hill opened for them on their first tour post-Covid)
Originals: (The first 3 have a small thread from one video to the next.)
Catch Me If You Can - Rob shines in this one!
Dive Bar Saints - great lyrics featuring Chance
Leave This Town - great storytelling featuring Tim
Might As Well Be Me - please pause to read their "bios" and written answers to add to the hilarity
Road Sweet Road - about their touring adventures
So Long Dixie - thought provoking lyrics re growing/changing
With 50+ originals and over 100 covers and collabs this just scratches the surface, but if you keep going down this rabbit hole the Home Fries will come and enjoy the journey with you!

Welcome to the deep Home Free rabbit hole. If you play it (HF) they will come (fans “home fries “). Prepare to have your comments and subs blow up. Others have given great info - one note - the bass, Tim Foust, has long dark hair pre 7/2020 and shorter silver hair after that. Also, the baritone Chance joined in April 2016. So in videos prior to that, the beatboxers brother and co-founder Chris Rupp was the baritone. He usually wore a hat.
Fun fact: current members are all within 5 years of age and between 6’2” and 6’4”. Austins replacement has not yet been announced. He is with the group until Oct. They won the sing off tv show in Dec 2013 which catapulted them to world stage. Home Free was formed in 2000/01, went full time in 2007, and toured mostly the midwestern states and guest entertainers on cruise ships until after the SingOff. Adam Rupp (beatboxer) is only founding member still there. Chance, Austin and Tim all have solo work and outside collaborations as well.
If you love pure harmony, Brothers in Arms and Helplessly Hoping. For some larping fun, Brother. My favorites: In The Blood and Go Rest High On That Mountain (church sessions). DO check out How Great Thou Art as one of your next ones.
Thank you for your reaction. Much luck to you on your channel.

The group has 5 great soloists, in which I include the beatboxer, Adam Rupp, and harmonies that are out of this world. Yes, welcome to Home Free, all acapella, no instruments at all. Masters of all musical genres. They won the 4th season of the Sing Off in 2013. Their covers are upgrades, their medleys are brilliant, their collaborations with the original artists are inspirational, and their original songs are masterpieces. Within this 5 man vocal band you have 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 2 bass-baritones. All of them can sing lead and they choose depending on whose voice best fits the song. They can do just about anything and they continue to grow and improve, yet they remain so humble. When they have featured guest artist, they support and allow their featured artists to shine. Several of them have their own channels and do some solo work. And just for fun Rob and Austin sing Opera. What else can I say? Their catalogue of work is quite large and continues to grow. You are in for an exciting journey and the Home Fries will be there for you all the way.

  • @varnishgal

They have an extensive catalog of covers from every musical genre, and a good number of original pieces as well. Rob (the bearded vocal scratcher) was trained in opera; the lead singer here has a musical theatre background. Chase, who was doing the jaw harp at the end, can take over the bass line for Tim (Mr. Deep Voice) when Tim takes lead as a tenor. They're just remarkable, and really good guys as well: community minded, respectful of their fans, and creative as can be. A couple of my personal favorites are their cover of the Doobie Brothers "Listen to the Music" and their collaboration with Don McLean on "American Pie." Don approached them to work with him on a new recording of "American Pie" for the song's 50th anniversary. There's just no end to what they can do.

    Popular and good harmonies:

For a giggle "Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget"
They have a whole album called Land of the Free, of patriotic songs, if that's interesting to you.

Think of the Matrix: *there is no harmonica*. Most people use the term "nomonica", although I kind of like "harmanica".
This video is amazing and the perfect introduction to HF, but literally no one here is showing off what they can really do. Rupp (the beatboxer) can not only play more impressive "nomonica" (see, for example, Working For A Living), but his beatboxing has most of us convinced he is not, at all, from this planet. (Look for "Adam Rupp Drum Solo", if you dare.) Tim Foust occasionally blows out the amplification system at professional rented venues. (Okay, Rupp does too, but again, alien life form, doesn't count.) And just when you've decided you're going to call him the human subwoofer, you come across something like Why Do Fools Fall In Love, and begin to question his terrestrial origins as well.
The whole group is just absurdly good.

3:39 if you want to see Adam Rupp’s “(no)Harmonica” in more depth you need to check out “Ain’t going down til the sun comes up”. The man is a vocal percussive genius!! I swear he has an orchestra/sound effects machine where his voice box should be.

I saw them live last month, they were amazing! They are a vocal band and although they do a lot of country, they do a little of everything, End of the Road, Life is a Highway, Listen to the Music. Thanks for reacting to my favorite group! I am subscribing in hopes of more Home Free!

Home Free does everything from Dire Straights to John Mayer, to Boyz2Men and some Gospel. They're funny, humble and extremely talented. Check out The Butts Medley, How Great Thou Art and The End of the Road. Warning ⚠️, it really is a rabbit hole. There's no better a capella groups out there.

New subscriber. Great reaction, too! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are a freakishly talented group of fellas that excel in all music genres. They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, American Pie featuring Don McLean, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints, The Driver, Crazy and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone and Ray Stevens' Mississippi Squirrel Revival. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They have recently released several new songs that you will want to check out. Unchained Melody, Listen to the Music, Brother and Stargazer Lilies trilogy: Give Me A Sign, Stargazer Lilies and Mr. ...Their latest releases are Might As Well Be Me, Playing With Fire, Remember My Name, Oh, Pretty Woman, Cruise, Stand By Me, Colder Weather and Life is a Highway. To switch it up..try Two Country Singers try singing Opera. Adam Chance just wrote the theme song to Ubisoft's new Pirate themed video game, Skull and Bones and Home Free performs it. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!

While Home Free does do a lot of country music, they can (and do) sing a much broader genre. Check out their cover of Boyz II Men's "End of the Road" and their spectacular cover of "When a Man Loves a Woman". A couple of other of my favorites include "Sea Shanty Medley" (you can hear Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, "playing" castanets--with his vocal cords and mouth); "How Great Thou Art" (and old hymn that they filmed in the Austrian Alps and the scenery and the vocals are out of this world; it makes me say I don't know if there are angels, but if there are and they sing, that's what they sound like). And to get a true feeling for their versatility, check out the two tenors (Austin Brown and Rob Lundquist) "attempt" to sing Nessun Dorma (and absolutely kill it--especially Rob).

You asked, are they "all" country? If you mean their music, mostly, but they've done R&B, pop, rock, even opera! They're especially loved for their humor, believe it or not. But if you meant, are the guys all "country"'; two are from Minnesota (beat boxer, and tenor w/ glasses), the others from Georgia (auburn-haired tenor), Alabama (baritone), and Texas (bass).

I would like to welcome you to the Home Free Rabbit Hole. This was the best first song to introduce you to Home Free. Now, Jump right into the Rabbit Hole and enjoy, I would like your next experience to be Listen To The Music by Home Free. There are so many it would be hard to put in order how to listen to them. Also allow me to tell you that the main Bass singer Tim Foust does solo and also with others, Austin Brown also does solo and with others, they do have atleast 1 original called Skull and Bones in witch Adam Chance wrote. This is going to be a very mind blowing. Enjoy and maybe you too will become a fan.

Every sound you hear in this video is created by mouth by beatboxer Adam Rupp or the other members. That includes the record crackle at the beginning.
Believe it or not, that is not the lowest that their bass singer can go. He can also sing high tenor. He has five octaves to play with.

Welcome to the Home Free Rabbit Hole! Sub'd due to this review/react....Going to share a lil "cheat sheet" that I appropriated....
The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular. They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do. There is no Lead singer in the group. They each ( except Adam )sing the song and who’s ever voice or voices sound right for the song gets the lead unless is a bass/ baritone song then that’s Tim or Chance. A lot of time they each have a part in the song. Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries and are very loyal to the guys. Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire ( 41) can make any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonica (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).Co founder from Mankato Minnesota. Rob Lundquist :Lead tenor(beard and glasses) ( 40 )very soulful voice and master whistler from Minneapolis, Minnesota Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) ( 42 ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland, Texas Austin Brown: High Tenor ( Long wavy hair )( 37 ) voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia. Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass ( 39 ) deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County, Alabama. Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder in 2016) They have collaborated with many singers and legends Don McLean: American Pie Oak Ridge Boys: Elvira Kenny Rodgers: Children Go Where I Send Thee (Please watch the end message) Billy Gilman: One Voice Alabama: Christmas In Dixie Mark Wills: Don’t Laugh At Me ( important message at the end ) Lee Greenwood & US Airforce Band: God Bless The USA Any many more. They have 3 amazing songwriters in the group Tim, Austin and Chance So they have a very large playlist of covers and original songs End of the Road (Boyz 2 Men cover ) When A Loves A Woman Helplessly Hoping (5 part harmony masterpiece ) Unchained Melody Butts Medley/ Remix Listen To The Music Can’t Outrun You Brothers In Arms Stargazer Trilogy( All Originals written by Austin) Give Me A Sign ( Chapter 1) Stargazer Lilies( Chapter 2) MR (Chapter 3) Skull And Bones ( original written by Chance for Ubisoft new video game Skull And Bones) Might As Well Be Me ( Original) Playing With Fire ( Original) Remember My Name (Original) Oh Pretty Woman Life Is A Highway Stand By Me Cruise I Want Crazy Christmas In LA ( Newest Release Mayday(DON’T WATCH TILL YOU ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE GROUP AND THEIR RANGES ) There's not a song that you pick from their 200+ catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet. They are just funny, down to earth, humble really nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is IMO Sorry for the long read

Home Free is the real deal. All a cappella and no there is no harmonica. When in concert Austin (lead singer here) joins Adam in doing the harmonica. There is no lead singer. They all take the lead depending on the song. They sing all genres not just country although 3 of them are from the south. Home Free won season 4 of the Sing Off. Pentatonix won season 3. Love Home Free. They are known for their great harmonies.

If no one has told Adam's No-Monica is what we Homefries called it when you think you hear him doing the harmonica. The Jaw harp was done by Adam Chance but known to fans as chance.
Also you might want to check out their home away from home playlist and their vault playlist

Home Free defines themselves as a ALL VOCAL COUNTRY BAND. They do lots of different stuff though, but bring their own little something to it. (IMO, every song they do is better than the original, as I said IMO).

This is the video most reactors go with first. But go down the rabbit hole you might like something better depending on your genre of choice because,
    Austin Brown tenor 1
    Rob Lundquist tenor 2
    Adam Chance Baritone
    Tim Foust Bass
    Adam Rupp Beatboxer
    Do all genres 😊

Caution: Home Free is highly addictive. You'll forget that there are no instruments (the beatboxer, Adam Rupp, is an alien). They're all vocal chameleons. Home Free is also ego free - there is no lead singer. Whomsoever sounds best singing it, does so. 3 of them are song writers, so there are lots of originals as well as covers. Fall down the rabbit hole - you won't wanna climb out . . .#HomeFree

Agree. I listen almost exclusively to Home Free, Voiceplay, and the solo/collab work their members do (Tim Foust, Austin Brown, Adam Chance from Home Free and Geoff Castellucci from Voiceplay). Oh, and you also need to discover The Hound and the Fox, who have amazing work on their own but also some collaborations with some of these boys. (If you ever have insomnia, put on the “Lullabies” playlist on the Hound and Fox channel, and it’s like having an angel sing you to sleep.)
