A lot of truth and wisdom! Especially about young guys thinking that winning the lottery and becoming rich will solve all issues in life. It is interesting and sad hearing friends talking about how they are planning to become millionairs at 25 so they can retire. A lot of them being obsessive gamblers. One friend of mine said he was going to quit college and become a salesperson if he failed his exam. Instead of just retaking the exam. I think there is a lot of irrational beliefs from many young men today. They think that they have to do something special/ be successful and make a lot of money to feel content in life. It is obviously nothing wrong with having ambitions in life, i have as well. But it is great to have found ocd-recovery as I can see when these things can become irrationell and obsessive!

Great page for moderate ocd. If it’s severe severe ocd, no amount of acceptance or thought changes will save you.

Hey Henry! Thanks for the support but this page is strictly for chronic OCD. Every single person here had arguably some of the worst OCD on earth so that's not true 🙂

@@OCDrecoveryNick If it’s severe severe OCD, it wouldn’t be possible to “sit with the discomfort” for more than a few hours. Humanly impossible. There is another level. I don’t doubt folks here have suffered 10/10. What I’m saying is there is a level of 10,000/10 where sitting with the discomfort is equivalent to allowing the sensation of being stabbed with a knife every 3 seconds. That’s the level where medication beyond just ERP/CBT is necessary. Maybe I’m misunderstanding the channel but it seems the general theme is that simply ERP/CBT alone is enough. Please correct me if I’m wrong there. I just know there is a level in which no amount of ERP/CBT is going to be able to do more than a small fraction of the work

@@henryzhao4622 This is incorrect. This is what this channel is for. The best thing you can do for yourself is stop trying to prove why you're the worst case and compare. best of luck Henry!

@@OCDrecoveryNick best thing I can do is go in for somatic therapies instead of spending another three years thinking that somehow it’s all my responsibility and I can think my way out of it. It’s a disservice to everyone to not acknowledge the limitations of just talking and thinking through it. If you can just talk and think your way through it it’s not the most severe level.
