How are your customers liking the power in this trucks? Just got a 6500 4x4 with a dump body on it. Looking to get more power out of it because with a load the truck struggles in comparison to my Ram 5500 with the same load.
HI! How is your chevy 6500 holding up so far? How many miles you got? Any breakdowns or repairs needed to be done? Any down time? Any pros or cons about the truck?
Thanks!! Apples to apples pricing is not 100% straightforward. Fords discounting program works well for upfitters, but you’d have to talk to your local Chevy dealer to get best price. Best feel we have for the market today is that if you purchased retail, Chevy would be about $4500 more than Ford but a decent sized fleet should be able to close that gap.
I’m guessing you’re referring to the tow hooks on the front bumper? Sorry, we do not have a part number for that. Would have to check with chassis dealer. Thanks for watching!
Can’t remember if we’ve done one on the front before, I think we have. But we’ve definitely cut a hydraulic winch into the rear bumper several years ago! Thanks for watching!
Saggy suspension, low body to ground clearance, no extended cab option, rides rougher, and harder to upfit. Sounds like a 550 is a better choice. Keep in mind Ford is now offering an F600 as well, which is a 550 with higher GVW. The DEF fill is on the passenger side, which is opposite the refueling side. This is very inconvenient at a truck stop fuel pump which dispenses diesel and DEF from the same pump. I will say I really like the forward opening hood, and solid drivetrain. The interior seems slightly nicer than the 550, other than it being tighter.
No thanks....I'll stick with the 550...Chevys are beautiful truck with very comfortable cabs....iv got one as my personal truck love it!....but for a work truck well....I dont think so....also not much on this truck is GM....and if you think I'm going back with a navi star product....keep walking.....I wouldn't buy a truck with only the door handles made by those crooks on it....my play truck is a chevy.....and my service truck is ford...great service body tho....I'd like to hear more on the enpak....if there worth it or is it just another fancy let down
The topkick/Kodiak were NEVER dependable trucks, they were a hacked together work van on a medium duty chassis that were 24/7 wiring and electrical nightmares. I worked on them for 8 years 🤬 from 2002-2009 those were the WORST yet cheapest piece of junk medium duty trucks on the market.
You don,t know what you are talking about, I currently own a 2008 , i has been trouble free since new! Love it. Have you ever owned one? I didn't think so!
Thanks for the feed back, I am also a HD Mechanic have worked in the industry for 35 years ,Sure there has been some issues with these chassis over the years but who has not issues. These are damn good chassis and people that have had them have been asking GM to bring them back for years. That is the facts, so go back to your Fraud (Ford) /Fiat Dodge blogs and leave people alone. Time will tell how good these are. I am betting they will be awesome
@@waldend248 Thanks for the feed back, my proof is i own a 2008 5500 that that has a 36 foot motor home built on the back of it that has been absolutely awesome, + 35 years in the HD industry of pulling wrenches on various brands including Top kick and Kodiak from the 8.1 to the Duramax. You want to compare facts?? Bring it on. Cry baby!
It's a downtuned 6.6 Duramax. Navistar built the frames, assembled the trucks and dialed the power down to a level that would be safe to run basically flat out all the time. Take a look at the 6.7 Cummins power ratings in commercial vehicles vs the Ram. Same with the powerstroke like he said in the video - in the F550 it's tuned down to 330hp.
I'm so glad that chevrolet Silverado is back in the medium duty business since they've been missing for a long time
For sure!
110v power plug is available on the 4500 - 6500. We have it on our 2019 4500 that we ordered.
Thanks for the info!

Do you happen to have the part number for the tow hooks by any chance? Thanks!

You should think about putting a winch on the front of the truck

Why is it so small
Only 350hp? Wow 😕😢

Stop comparing it to the Ford 550 compare it to the Ford 650 omg
Got it. Thanks!
Wish ram would make a bigger pick up to compete within this market. As far as I'm concerned Ford and Chevy are simply junk.
Ouch Mr. Rogaine!!! If RAM could actually deliver units (this was true even pre COVID / Chip B.S.) they would put a hurtin’ on the blue oval.
