I keep returning to this game to watch what I saw in 1972...now my 56 year old eyes are watering as they did 39 years ago. 'WHAT A GOAL...WHAT A GOAL' !! giant killing at it's best....the stuff of dreams.....years before football died of gluttony.
@holicman Can't forget Gazza v Arsenal in the 91 semi or Ricky Villa in the 81 final. 2 Of the finest goals ever scored in the whole history of the universe
As a Wolves fan, supporting my team in the greed league, I actually have to agree with you all. I love that Wolves are in the top league/division, but Football is exactly what we see in the video. It's not about money and big clubs and trips to Europe, it's about following your local club through thick and thin (4th division and back!) and living it on the terrace with your dad or mates as MrHufcFan says above.
Glory days, but Hereford United are now owned by a man who was banned from football club ownership by the FA. He allowed the club to be relegated 2 divisions, and is waiting for the chance to sell the very stadium that this legendary giant-killing moment took place in. The club is on the brink of extinction, all thanks to the FA's disregard for lower division football.
i've been looking for the 'rocket man' version of this since i saw it on TV years ago - good skills. Weird how motty knows it was a goal before it went in, no?
the goals, the fans, the celebrations in this video are what football should be all about. Not this multi billion pound, only the big teams matter and fuck the rest product that FIFA have been peddling out!
I was 11 when this happened, and I think it still rankles NUFC supporters over a certain age, having seem a lot of non league football over the years and seem the commitment of the players over the years you just wonder how much more marvellous the game would be if professionals always put the same level of endeavour into the came..
with the exception of the Goal steven Gerrard scored in the last minute of extra time against West ham in the 2005/2006 cup final, I think this game and goal of Ronni radfords is close to the best Fa cup goal of all time, not only for the strike, but from the team that were not favoured and not given a hope in hell of winning that game. awesome game and I felt the atmosphere of the game just by watching the clip.
I agrre. Supporting a football club (well one like mine, Bristol Rovers) I compare to family life, the cracking moments make up for all the dull and grey times ten fold. You just have to stick with it and not give up.
You will never beat this, it's the greatest goal in football history.
I am in it! 10 years old and the best football moment of my life! I love HUFC!

Ronnie Radford's goal belongs in any top 10 list. One of the greatest FA Cup moments.
That is why this is the best cup competition in the world. Brings a lump to my throat every time I see it. Just love it.
Rocket Man indeed- ideal choice of song, as it was a hit that year
What a belter!!! On a mudbath of a pitch as well. Never seen a goal like this in the Premier League.
This isn't just the beauty of the FA Cup, this is the beauty of football in probably it's most innocent of times/
I'm a Norwich fan but I love this!!!

It makes me cold all over every time I watch it, 4 years old and my Dad swears he sees me every time he watches it!
Best goal ever scored
