Downdraft Table Box attachment dust collector

Yes, I don't have much space in my workshop. And certainly not for a Downdraft / Grinding table. So I had to come up with something.
And that I don't suck off all the dust with this box is also clear to me. But I hope that most of it will be sucked off. It was also important to me that I could easily clean the filter. Now I can just vacuum it up with a vacuum cleaner.
I could also have bought a built-in fan, but since this was more than an experimental project, I didn't want to spend any money at first. The blue filter pad is a special filter mat and does not burn.

I like it. I’ve seen downdraft tables and dust collectors but I haven’t seen a portable box like this (other than a filter taped to a box fan). Nice and versatile.

Wow ,super Idee von so einem alten Abzug kann man was total nützliches machen .Wie immer top Video .Ein anderer hätte die vergessene Masseklemme aus dem Video herausgeschnitten und genau das ist es ,was den Dirk so absolut sümphatisch macht immer real bleiben👍😉.Gruß Marko

Definitely cool build! I'd recommend considering swapping the front grille with something that doesn't block as much flow.

Awesome idea. I don't have the space for a downdraft grinding/sanding table. Guess I'll be looking for a fan. I do have an axial 12" exhaust fan that should do the job.
