I have replaced the compressor twice on this unit. Before replacing the compressor the second time, I thoroughly checked that all possible causes (EEV’s, correct gas charge, pipework specs etc) we’re all fine. The unit hasn’t missed a beat since. Very odd.

Replacing a daikin compressor fan and board. I think it would be better to install a new sytem :)

System under warranty, customer won’t pay to get it replaced. Its Daikin to pay for parts and labours to save the ac

Typical bloody daikin. Comp fails, tech support says replace all boards and fan motors 😂

Yeah it’s crazy, high voltage DC components are garbage. Even fan motors have a little pcb in them now, so they will tell the PCB if the rpm of the fan is down. Things are so over engineered now that they always fail.
In regards to this job, the compressor has failed twice and the unit is 2 or three years old max 😂

@@maracservices They’re designed to fail. Can’t beat a DOL compressor with a basic control circuit. Easy to diagnose and will run forever. I look after a site in Sydney that is full of Daikin VRV units. They’re problematic and poorly designed. It’s the way this industry is going so I better get used to it 😂

@@cjohns28 I 100% agree mate. You should watch some videos on UA-cam of Fridgie’s in the USA. They are all working on Air Conditioners that are basic af. It’s like we get Japanese brands in Australia that are full of unreliable technology but the US manufacture their own stuff and keep it simple. No inverter, just a contactor and thermostat.

@@maracservices yeah mate I’ve seen a few of the US hvac channels on here. The systems are so basic, the part most likely to fail is the capacitor. I wish we still had air cons like that here. Even the Australian made units are getting more complex. The top of the range Temperzone and Actron machines now all have inverters with EXV’s. Engineers are so obsessed with energy efficiency that it just ruins the reliability.

@@cjohns28 haha yeah mate. Actron definitely needed to have a look at their technology because their soft starters were failing constantly but yeah I agree man.
