I remember the RX7 from Need For Speed: Most Wanted, back in 2005. 2023, I am revisiting it now playing the game again, love the RX7. The way it looks it is just, so eloquent. And, the way it sounds is music to ears.
Fallen in love with this channel. Always chill vibes and genuinely stunning cars. I live in Wales UK so this feels like a secret back door into the Japanese scene. Thanks so much for hard work editing and sharing this! Peace man!
Never cant get enough of Rotary.....life goal! Will Mazda ever bring it back? They should have something like Omari Factory special projects and bring back Rotary! I see you put the top down on your Bmer...looking clean with that BBS!
@morericeplease8450 I live in Canada and used to import cars from Japan back in the mid 2000. When I stopped at 2010 I've asked my guy in Japan to look something for me to keep. He found me a chase white 94 FD3S type R a former demo car from RE-Sanai rotary shop. I've paid 10K Canadian for it back in the day.
Less is more in my opinion, especially when a car is beautifully designed to begin with (as is the case with the FD RX7). When the FD was first released here in the States, one of the neighbors in my apartment complex had one of these cars that was about as simple as it got, with no rear wing of any sort. All the better to show off the lines of the and the perfect integration of the awesome tail light design in my opinion. That will always remain the ultimate FD RX7 look for me personally. I'm relatively new to your channel and really enjoying your content. Also, I'm curious to know what magazines you used to shoot for. P.S. You son looks like such a happy little guy - great to see.
Yep simple is always best and so many owners are going back to this now. I shot for a lot of mags, if you’re in the US you would have seen my stuff in Turbo, Import Tuner, Super Street, Modified, Modified L&E, D Sport, AutoWeek, Road & Track. Haha yeah Gaio was enjoying the evening 😂
I bet you're tired of hearing it, but thought I'd give a tip on telling the difference between the SA and the FB. The SA has its plates between the taillight, the FB has it on the bumper down low. Learned this from Alexi, who's first car was an SA. Gotta say though, I'm really jealous. This is a bucketlist item for me, because the FD is (IMO) the best looking car from the '90s, and one of the best of all time. And I love rotaries. I love how their mechanical simplicity makes them infinitely more difficult to perfect than it's 4-stroke rival.
Great insight into 7s day! Speaking about rotaries, have you ever seen one of the rotary minibuses made by Mazda? I saw a couple of pictures of them, they look pretty interesting.
@@dino_dc tried several times to hare a link here, but I couldn't. That Mazda minibus was called Parkway 26 and had a 13B engine. Sorry for any inconvenience.

@16:40 MADDOG Arrives!!!! Whats even wilder about this car was that it used to be Bright Orange and built in the USDM Import Tuner Style and already looked amazing, he's done such a killer job with it
The Wankel rotary is the perfect candidate for some form of hybridization. There’s got to be some way to get those emissions down with electric assist.

Really enjoyed that, seeing all of the cars at the meeting including some other cars that weren't rotary powered. I am nearly ashamed to say I've never heard of 7's Day before, despite being into the JDM scene and culture for a long time now. Delighted that your son got to sit into the Knight Rider equivalent of RX7's, seemed to be a very cool owner there. He has great patience, far more mature beyond his young years and he is getting a great start into the car scene 😉
Happy to hear that, and yes Gaio was so happy to have sat in the FD and even got to actuate the hydraulic suspension! Big shout out to the owner of the car that has helped make that love of cars stronger for a happy 7 year old! Need to get him a black tomica FD lol
Crazy how Japanese police treats car enthusiasts so badly in Japan. They're really trying to brush off their rep which is kinda weird but w/e Also, as an EG sedan owner its finally nice to see a Ferio in one your videos, even if its just in a short cameo! 10:20
0:43 That S2 SA. I've seen cars identified this way with the rear plate both above and below the bumper. What was the standard placement for a JDM S2 and S3?
@@dino_dc 11:54 There's another S2 SA with the sub-bumper rear plate. UK and AUS models seem to keep the above-bumper location. But Nihon appears to have moved on to the below-bumper position like the US FB, and just kept RHD. Maybe Nihon imported some AUS S2 SA cars back? That would explain the mixture on the plates. And then of course some Yankee FBs could be in the mix too. Like you say in the video about the show, it takes all kinds!
hello dino, impeccable work as always since I discovered you in speedhunters. A question that is bothering me: which models do they replace or have they added to the fanaticism of the people? maybe I got lost but I don't see the same variety from the beginning of 2005 to 2015 more or less... I think there is a bump in models, I don't know if the 86 is still growing, Honda dropped it except with the 660, Subaru continued with the WRX but it touches the transition, mazda only miata... However, I see more strength in the more classic models.
Thanks 🙏🏻 first of all! I think the 86 has done really well and actually surprising how many GR86 I see all of a sudden. Sure there are more new Civics in the mix but the highest bump in imports like BMWs and stuff like Minis & Golfs
@@dino_dc Thanks for replying Dina. Perhaps Akio knew how to see this, if the Japanese themselves go to European brands then Japanese brands will lose fans of their models. Is it perceived that the same enthusiasm is generated in new models or only in the same ones? subaru comes to mind that he already mentioned that he would not continue with wrx, honda maybe he will be able to resume with type R and so on

About the first car, the SA..."not the cleanest car', not very cool to say, no matter what you said about driving them. Not everyone has million dollar "dope" builds, cars only driven ones of miles for photo shoots, stuck in collections, etc. Cars driven, actually used for real, should get THEE most attention❗️
I think you may have misunderstood the context. I meant that it obviously gets used and to me that’s always a better thing to see than a super clean car that sits parked most of the time
