Good Morning 😊 Beautiful Pipes Buddy 😍 Informative and Educational Video 💯 Thanks For Sharing and Having a Piping Moment Together 🌬💨💨 Have a Great Day & Greetings From South Africa 🇿🇦
I have never heard of a briar pipe with a block meeschaum bowl, not that I have researched it deeply. The only pipes I know of that have a block meerschaum lined bowl are the Hilson Fantasia pipes from the 60s. They carved the block meer bowl first then formed an acrylic plastic pipe around it. Some of the colors and shapes they made were pretty cool! The two meer lined pipes I have are estate pipes. the meer has cracked and chipped away in the bottom of the bowls. I need to fill them. I Haven't decided what to fill them in with yet. Thanks for sharing these with us Pat. They are beautiful pipes!
Hi! In some cases I am not even sure if it is Meerschaum at all! Could be just clay too! I also have two pipes where the lining is just on the walls of the bowl and the bottom is left out intentionally. Regards, Chris
Hey Pat, love the intro to this video. I did check and meerschaum lined briar pipes will wick away moisture but not to the same degree as a full meerschaum pipe would. Keep enjoying your medico pipes. Can't wait to see the next ones you show us. Cheers.
At antique stores and flea markets I saw dozens of codger pipes with burnouts and heat damage. So I think the idea was to create a pipe that is burn-out proof. Also in some cases I am not sure if Meerschaim was used at all but clay instead. Or clay with added Meerschaum dust to advertise it as Meerschaum...
I think im in agreement with theory 1. But you raise a great question about it being able to actually do its job wrapped in briar. Enjoying the series 😊💨💨
I collect them have 100s,,don't use for same reason,,would not if they worked good,,always perceive the fuel,, butane is expensive,,bic is all I use,,roll my own smokes for 40 plus yrs
@@wonyankeesays5661 wow ! Thought I was the only one that had issues and hate them! Zippos were the worse! One caught fire in my hand ! Bic for the win!
I don’t get how guys light flakes with Zippos. I have zippos , I want to use zippos but I end up grabbing my Kiribi or a Bic. I think zippos work great for ribbon or ready rubbed blends . Thanks for your video
Thanks for sharing, Pat! For some reason the meerschaum lined pipes never seemed like a good fit for me. But they do seem to have a place in a lot of folks rotation.

I have a tinder box Hungarian pipe meerschaum lined. It’s great absorbs moisture and smokes cool. Also it does not ghost.
Nice!
Every fluid lighter I’ve ever owned has never ever worked for me! I never could understand why. Nice video Pat

Interesting. I have never had a problem. Now the pipe lighter inserts I get a chemical taste but the regular ones I do not. 🤷🏻♂️

Yep I get it. Totally.
Having only one pipe with a meerschaum bowl would allow for multiple different flavors without fear of the dreaded ghosting effect perhaps?
That’s another thought 🤔
Hiya Pat! Nice to see you!
Thanks for stopping by!
Just how many Medicos do you have?
Not telling!🫣
All kinds of pipes aren't there
