she's been part of the band for a few years. as mentioned by someone else, she contributes to songwriting and vocals on the last 2 albums. so i wouldn't say non-essential at all.
I was there too. The only things wrong to me were it was too short and the audience didn't seem that into it. Tonight Tonight sounded excellent. Agreed about Green Day's performance as well.

Was here last night, extremely disappointed with the pumpkins set!!!! Thank god Green Day was incredible
