I go over the absolute best ones that'll carry you through the whole game with ease as well as the weapons you should avoid if you want to play more efficiently. This guide will go over every weapon type you can get, and show you why some weapons are much better than others. I go over the pros and cons as well as ammo efficiency and other stats to give you a full understanding of what to use and why.

I use Torpedoes in the rear so if the Rogue NPC ships are chasing me i can slowly wear them down with them.
Just use bombards on the back, it's easier to hit them

Mast breaker does more damage when sails are broken meaning once there broken I can hit the ship and still get bonus right?
I like rear fire torpedoes also for the same reason

Been using low level ballista, fire reload charge and fire takes about 3-4secs. Exclusively target weak points.
There is a mission in the story, were you sail John Scurlock's ship. It has demi-cannons with the range to hit a fort.
His ship has the Zamzama 2. The Zamzama 3 that you can get for endgame currency is INSANE
@@DonyeWump I can definitely attest to that. Got them last night and they are beast I'm running those on either side a mortar and fire bombards on either end.
@@MarcusEnsley-pk3hp Try running the volatile fuel furniture with them. Everything ignites in 1 or 2 shots.
This is insane, I literally just got a fire bombard III from a kingpin chest as I was hearing you talk about how good it is lol. I now run it in the stern, Great Springald II in the bow, Zamzama II Demi Cannons in the broadsides, and a Mortar II in the aux. It's aa powerful combo for raiding convoys with remaining capability for hitting forts.

Long Guns on the front for persuit, Bombards on the side for general use, Torpedoes on the back for when being persued. Mortar always.

@@jamienorris4217 That's my general setup for farming 8's. Sturlocks long Nines (front) Fire Bombards III (sides) Rhamas Legacy (rear) Leopold III (mortar). My go-to for bounty hunting, Legendary Heists, Sea Monsters, Le Peste etc is Brig with Fire Bombard III all round, Leopold III, Black Prince, all furniture related to Bombard/ablaze
Only ammo I run out of is the missiles as I go through a lot. Got every ship bar the last 2. Just made the medium tank and due to its large amount of health I've finally stopped using repair kits 2 and using advanced repair 2 kit and repair kits 3. Lucky I had unlocked the big medium ship in the beta and got to max rank before beta closed and my save data transferred to main game.
I got the legendary edition so I could play early and still really enjoying it. Need to rank up one more level to be able to unlock the last 2 medium ships, find there blueprints and craft them.
If I could give any advice to new players on the official launch day that would be make sure you have plenty of meals for buffs which last a good while and loads of normal cooked food to boost your ships stamina when your traveling at full mast. And to equip them to your first captains menu screen for easy use. One last thing when you unlock the funiture that epic that gives you 300 acceration when you go to full mast make sure you equip it straight away it's a game changer that can get out of many dangerous issues that may come up when you need to run away quickly. Last and foremost always have enough silver for a rebuy cost of your ship incase you get killed. Otherwise you spawn and at a port and your ships wholes loot may have been taken by other players. With a rebuy you spawn close to where you was killed so can pick it up quickly and then sale back to port to fix the percentage of your ship that wasn't healed on the rebuy. Thank me later for advice
I'd recommend doing some test shots with the bombard and measure distances.
In my experience if you line the bottom aim reticule up with the target you hit just over 600m away. Spyglass to determine how far an enemy is and adjust accordingly till you got a good feel for the bombard.
I do a weak spot build with long cannons 😂 at the moment might have to try a bombard build👌
After playing all the open beta during a total of 58h and getting the early access from the purchase of the premium i'll agree about the torpedo since are quite easy to avoid but the brigantine + flamethrower from the ghostship isn't too bad but you need some teamup to reach your target.
Once you level up more you'll end up using bombard V so your ship level gets to 10. Once you get that done. Then it's a grind to get the gold coins to get the really OP weapons. Its possible missions will give them but so far im ship level 11 on my brig. I seem to be maxed out until i get the gold coins from the empire part of the game.
If you do the roving deliveries they pay out the most. I do them first then do the lower ones. Rinse and repeat. You can make 1k PO8 quickly.
I played beta, is that the whole map for the full game ?

@maroonAg Helm delivery missions.
You get small amounts of PO8 (around 24-25) for regular small deliveries to outposts.
You get more (100+) for delivering them to ships at sea. They are relatively easy. Only thing is when you get to the location there are several ships and you have to find the right one. They are all.Helm but not necessarily the ones you need. However they will be in there.
One is usually the Alcohol and the other is the Opium. If you do them both at once you can get 200+ Po8 easily. Then do the smaller orders after that.
Be careful with the torpedoes for antichasing. Im using them at back and no one wants to chase me without losing speed at turning

The problem is the totpedoes require using both the speed and range furnitures even in main game with the best torpedoes in the game they're not that great they can hit good damage but way to hard to use and most of the time you need to turn away from the ship to lead with them, unfortunately you have to lead the torpedoes against all ships that are fighting you
I hated on thos game death mark expired for quite a long time but after death mark expired playing the beta and death mark expired playing the premium edition death mark expired on the series x I'm actually death mark expired enjoying it. I got the fire bombard 2 and 3 during the open beta. Also got torpedos 2 during the beta. I use bombard on the sides, torpedos front and rear. I also got the missile launcher but I find it hard to aim so I have one of the rare mortars that also does flood damage. Forget the name
Scurlock's Chaser Long Guns have a 7,000 damage buff when you down a players sails like you said, and it's OP as shit when you time it right

i use hullbreaker, with the ghost ship flamer, and shotgun side cannons. ram in to them for 100% dmg (due to furniture) then flame then while i get them in range of my side cannons. even those pesky rank 10 privateers die before getting a shot off XD.

On Console you don't have the versatility to zoom the camera out to see long range bombard shots, are the tics on the bombard sights distance measurement? If so what distance is each tic mark? Cant find any references for them.
I'm zooming the camera out by using the mortar.

really curious on how the meta of the pvp will evolve with people getting better weapons. right now people have better armor then weapons so it kinda hard to see if demicannon will have enough burst damage to be competitive in pvp.
raming with a brig with rockets and demi cannon sounds really like a pvp build that would work? maybe not in the maphunt thingy but the hostile takeover where keeping the distance will be diffulct and killing npc the fastest way possible will be key

The rockets are awful. I want to like them but the aiming camera and arc are so hard to accurately determine where they'll hit outside of like 50 - 70m, which at that point you're just using Demis or other weapon options. They just need to give us the same camera as the mortar for them, or just slightly lower than the mortar cam. As they stand, I'd put them under the Torps for worst at the moment.
Rockets only for hitting towers, imo I have ships for all types of what I’m doing use your bombard ship with missiles to farm forts out your bombard cannons on the sides anchor up and unleash hell on the fort better to have a team mate with you playing that playstyle but forts disappear quick.

Nah, in PvP fights, boss fights, and harder missions you're gonna want bombard AoE.
@@SwoleBenji I'm not saying I won't use bombards no I will. I plan to but we've gotten the bounties all the bounties that were offered in the beta with the torpedoes. The only thing I haven't done is PVPs because you couldn't do those in the beta but I've done all the boss fights with the bounties and even took on the sea monster with torpedoes.
I'm telling you dude. They're awesome! I'll be on the game this weekend. Me and my dad been playing last weekend with the beta. The whole beta we put about 35 hours in. And as soon as we got the torpedoes that was the weapon we used the most.
I did use the long gun and the Sea fire.
I never got a chance to use a bombards that's on my list to use but I'm telling you
My ship I had torpedoes on each side. I had torpedoes in the rear and I had the sea fire in the front.
The front I did order me with the long gun. Sometimes I had to fire long then.
And that's what I used to take out all three bounties. By the end of the beta we were taken out level 8 ships no problem

Hello, how do you get an aerial view so that you can aim with the bombs? I'm on pc and I can't find the key.

When can you buy the surlock chacers long gun, and where are the managers? because for some ship wapons you need to go to a manager om the island where you can craft schip items, but i cant find them
The black market agents are the managers.
If you keep doing missions for Surlock he eventually awards you one for completing a mission.

Doesn't matter, the bombard is undefeated. The Meg Mons I the best version to use. It gets 50% damage increase to structures. Bur it's broken because it also does increased damage to ships and its not supposed to.
I use bombard 3 and Demi cannon 4 and it is way to good

I have the highest level Balista ... it sucks monkey balls. It says it's suppose to do 4500 damage plus 600% at full draw but 4500 is its maximum damage at full draw. It takes ages to draw and barely does any damage. It takes 3-4 to kill a lvl 2 ship, they are JUNK DON'T GET IT. The high end torpedo is slaying. It can do almost half damage with an armed direct hit to level 8 ships, so 2 and done.
I saw a thread about that weapon and how hitting weakpoints has a damage cap, but the ballista shouldn't be capped VS structures.
They should have put a circle that’s was easier to see by the player on the bombards. Like a glowing aura or something or a small transparent wall that sticks out.
The rokets are even worse nearly impossible to hit your target unless you are super close

Never used the Bombard or the Demi-cannons and things still get annihilated and I have completed the campaign. From the looks of it I was playing in hardmode because that damage is dumb. Now I know why that one play was 2 or 3 shotting contested area. I ran the whole story mode and up to Kingpin like 8 or something now with Culverns on he sides, long guns on the bow, and torps to teh aft. Now I will experiment since it seem like endgame is just abusing the mechanics for success.
how are you seeing status effects that you are applying
You can see the ships health going down slowly. You notice you are applying status effect when the ship is burning a lot for a period of time.

Depending on your ship but if you want to get best bang for your buck use the bombarder ship does bonus dmg on explosive damage so you just fill your ship up with mortars. I run a Snow ship cause I like soaking up damage I run end game demicannons rip guys not knowing what I have apart.

I really like using the bombard on my brigantine cause they brigantine can fire 4 times on the side without reloading so you just fucking destroy them

I was thinking the same thing, I’m assuming we will see a lot more players Friday when the base game releases, also I’m kind of surprised that there is barely any PvP releasing at the start do the game. You would think that they would have started the game with more PvP options

I’d be surprised if they didn’t balance the bombard to a lower damage or higher reload to compensate just how much it stands above the other weapons.
Torpedoes are actually really good for pve with the explosive ship, no one really plays pvp in this game so dont need to worry about that

@@strategosxero5843 normally I'd agree with you, but the pvp is opt in so it's not what you think it is, which I describe as pk. I'd actually say this is one of the better more preferable pvp systems I've experienced. No worry about random pkers, you can entirely opt out of pvp. But hey, thanks for the feedback bro. @Noita_ it is but isn't. It is in the sense that if you don't do everything, you don't have to pvp. But if you want to get extra prices of eight during the double rewards it automatically puts you in pvp. This helps a lot of lower levels yet all I see is people going after them and killing them when all they want is to double their rewards yet the newer player that are just getting into that stuff I've been told it kinda ruins the game for them to be forced into pvp just to do certain things that majorly benefit you.
@@strategosxero5843 so. This is not forced. You make a choice to *risk* your outcome. The other option is a slower paced gameplay, patience. You make the choice. This is not forced. It warns you what can happen and gives you a choice to opt out. If you want to live fast, you can do that. Someone like me will be there to challenge how you want to live just like how I expect and want people to challenge me when I do mine. "lower levels catch up" is not a logical reason for me not to sink ships who opt into pvp. If you want to catch up that way, you're accepting the risks.
The biggest downside to the system right now is that you can fill a server with your friends then fill a party with your friends before someone like me and mine can get in and hunt people abusing the feature doe 90k payouts can do it.
I don't think the feature was intended as a system for others to freely catch up bro. So if you use it that way, you take the risk. That's all it is. Hopefully they come up with some type of fix to prevent those exploiting it from exploiting it because that sucks. It should be equal risk and down to the player and their capacities(how geared you are, your build, etc.). People using it for anything other I don't think is a valid point against me hunting them down.
For the record. I only kill people above 200k personally. You didn't know this and that's fine. But if I see noobs doing the feature I just leave. I intentionally server hop to find people who are worth sinking to sink.

Your ship level increases when putting weapons, furniture and armor on it.
Is it true this game has no combat on land? No swords or pistols? Seems odd going from Pirates online in 2007 to something in 2024 with fewer features.
