It's cars like this that made Scion catch on here in the states when it was first introduced. If Toyota sold this version, they would've made a killing. I never knew about this until today. The closest thing to this I remember seeing was in a magazine years ago where someone modified the rear half of an XB with a full DJ booth and it slid out from the back of the car. That was sick.

My grandfather has one of these. He has Alzheimer's and now it just sits and is used as a place for my grandparent's dog to hand out while they are at work. I can't visit them this year because of this coronavirus stuff so hopefully, we can make it back to Japan next year and hopefully he still remembers us

Incredible!! Except that it seems to be auto transmission, right? I have a yellow release 2.0 xb & this reminds me so much of it, but so much better, including the fantastic mustard yellow!! I'd love to get my hands on one of these to haul vintage Vespas in!! I used to regularly put vintage Vespa small frame in my XB but had to take out the rear seat bottom and passenger seat. This would be much easier. 😅
I have had 3 XBz in my life so far..first one got T-Boned second one has 230K on it and still going..but the rocker panels are rusted out...my new/old 2006 XB is on 130K miles...never had to put anything in to these cars...minus a water pump and one motor mount...I would love to get my hands on one of these...even though it is right hand drive..
I wonder how much this would've sold if it was for sale overseas. I imagine it would've sold much more on the west coast than the east coast and looking at the old CMs for this car...Well, I'd guess that that would've been their target.

I paid 78,000 yen for two years (friend did the user-shaken). The gas station tried to upsell me on everything and asked for 278,000 yen... There is also a yearly tax of about 45,000 yen in May.

I could never understand the corporate brains, I think this would have sold well here in the US, I think it is an awesome looking vehicle.

Yes and the Bb had 4wd too people would have snapped that up its handy for the us since most small cars don't have it!

It's not legal for another three years. The current cost is about $3000 for a decent one in Japan plus export costs and shipping.
