I'm a foreigner married to a Filipina I met during our graduate studies at UBC in Canada. Unfortunately, I have never been to any beach resort in the Philippines. Though I have seen a lot of UA-cam videos like this one. Thank you for showcasing some of them. Power on!
Hello Danny, thank you for watching the vlog on Bantayan Island. We have many other travels around the Philippines in our channel and we hope you can check it out :)

Nice vid. I was recently there. My experiences were very different than yours. I actually wound up on the island and on the first evening met a damsel in distress. She was being abused by a much older Swedish drunk and was standing on a street corner in Santa Fe with bags of her belongings and his child after she kicked them out. We chatted. She told me her story. I said I needed a scooter. She said she had an extra bike at her place. I agreed to rent it. She lived on the northern side of the island. Soon afterwards, I was in a tricycle heading north for 45 minutes. I met her parents and other 2 children that evening. She gave me her scooter to use while I stayed on the island without negotiating a price. We met pretty much everyday afterwards just to hang out. She introduced me to her extended family. We ate squid adobo at her cousins in the north; all successful squid fisherman selling their catch to the Taiwan market. We walked through the lagoons and swam at the beaches you showed and others that tourists are unaware. I prepared a few meals for the family. We are still good friends. After borrowing her scooter during my stay I offered to pay money but she would not accept. Bantayan Island is still that kind of place, folks. Enjoy the moments now and keep supporting the locals.
This is a nice experience, the authentic Bantayan island life. Soon enough it will no longer be like this with casinos being built up on the island with direct flights from Cebu.
@@TheTravellingFoxes Yes I saw some construction of a casino and hotel but it was very small. I cannot see this place as a tourist destination for Chinese gamblers yet. Flying to Cambodia and on to Sihanoukeville is easier. It is still an alternative getaway. During my stay I think I saw maybe 50 foreign tourists. The downtown nightlife was fun but still quiet. That was in March. As for the seafood, a fisherman from a nearby island came ashore one day to sell his catch. I bought 2kg of fish for about $4. But they were so small! Over fishing is my worry about that place. I live next to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and we have good practices to sustain the fishing industry. That is not happening in the Phillipines.
@@TheTravellingFoxes well I live in Finland and we only drink tap water here cause it is clean and monitored so :D But better safe than sorry! Goin to Bantaya next spring!
First, thank you for what you and your friends present in your videos. I have a question and I want your opinion? I am in a very cool area and I want to start a UA-cam channel. What is your advice?
Hi Sombol, thank you for your feedback. As for your inquiry, I would say why not? If you have the time to create and edit, I think it would be a good idea. Just keep the niche small.. E.g. start with short videos on a specific topic, or longer videos, whatever it is, be consistent especially at the start so people know what the channel is about and the SEO will be better.
Thank 🙏 for the video! I’m so excited to go to Bantayan soon !

I think the Philippines has a lot of great places, but they need to promote better
Oh yes I agree! There are so many unknown travel destinations that only the locals know about.
How much did you rent for the motorbike?
300 pesos per day without gas. :)
