Hi Shelby. I'm also looking into this. I recently found some fibers in a bran new BH cosmetics Zodiac eyeshadow palette that I bought at Beauty Bay on november 2020. I freaked out thinking it could be asbestos and sent a sample to a lab to test it. It came out negative for asbestos but the lab did find fibers, however they seemed to be synthetic. Fibers in the eyeshadow is a sign of bad quality control, whatever they nature. BH Cosmetics is based in USA but production is made in China. I emailed BH Cosmetics and I'm still waiting for a proper response about the fiber situation. Since I learned about asbestos I lost my passion for makeup, it's sand cause it was my only hobby.
I totally agree! It’s scary because when we do our makeup it goes into the air when we dip our brush into it. It’s so hard to know if the talc or mica was mined near asbestos even if you make your own makeup, like me. It’s annoying that we have to contact manufacturers to be sure that they regularly test the talc and mica that they use. They need a certification on the packaging or something.
Does anyone here know if we are safe with Alter Ego? I know Alter Ego is probably The old Bad Habit and I really want the Goddess and new Luster Charm palette, but now I have no dang clue what to think or do. Great Video, and thanks for the info.
Oh my gosh I'm gonna have to go through my makeup .. who would have known right that's crazy 😯😯 I would assume the USA brands should make their makeup here in the USA as well .. Shelby Does Natural I know and it sucks bc June was my bday and got myself some ucanbe pallets for myself new to makeup again after all these years and bought 2 eyeshadow pallets and a highlighter pallet which I haven’t used yet just swatched except highlighter so I really hope they are safe and I bought profusion mystery boxes to start my collection u know affordable but I have enough health issues disabled don’t need more
The best way to know your wearing safe eyeshadow is if you make your own there’s some really easy diys you can make from scratch

I wish I knew, but I don’t. You could email them and see if they test their pallets that are made in China. It’s sad that they don’t have to though. 😢

I really don’t think so. Anyone can go buy talc. It should be up to the manufacturer.
