I'm sorry to hear about your homeless cousin. It is really scary. Being a citizen doesn't really grant us anything. I worked from about the age of 12, was attacked at work and injured really bad at the age of 33, my husband died several months later and I had two young teenage sons. I was desperate, had no income, and could not get any assistance for 3 months while I waited for my husband's death benefits to kick in. Yet, living in San Diego County and working at an elementary school I saw a lot of families who never worked here, never paid taxes, and were not citizens get every sort of assistance possible. It hurt. I never had asked for assistance before, I did not grow up on assistance, it is very confusing when you don't know how to play the game. I couldn't even get healthcare for my 2 children, forget about myself. It just isn't ok. It is wrong. I hope your cousin is ok. I hope she is able to get some help soon.

When I was in college, I had a (Female) business teacher. She was probably in her 50s. She made such an impression on me that I remember her to this day. She was in shape and beautifully dressed. She had beautiful grey hair and always wore it tied up in some fashion. She wore light makeup and never tried to hide the lines on her face. I admired her so much and made the decision right then and there that I wanted to age gracefully and look just like her in my older years. She dressed for her age (conservatively and appropriately) but she did it with CLASS! She was absolutely stunning! I have no doubt that she turned men's heads when they saw her and women admired her just like I did. Even young men couldn't help but think" I hope my girl looks like that when she gets older."

The problem is she has not evolved and grown as an adult performer. She not only has become a laughing stock to the younger generation but has alienated her aging fan base by not growing along with us. I made my adult daughter something to eat last night when she finally got home after taking care of sick people all day because she is a doctor. It was after 9:00 pm. She buys all of our food all the time. I always fixed food for my husband when he was alive. Continue fixing your family their food and when we fixed really big meals we all worked together making it. I consider it an act of love and It’s my part in helping. It isn’t Madonna’s age that bothers me…in terms of her performance or performing. There are so many legendary performers who are putting on beautiful shows. What is disturbing about Madonna is that she’s afraid to show herself as an older woman, who has had disfiguring surgery to deny age, and who tries to move in ways her body does not want to move. If she’d adapt her performance to match her current skills, maybe she’d be appealing to watch.

I remember during covid, I had to pay lab fees for my child attending college even though they were learning remotely. They never attended a lab even though the faculty got paid as though they were. It’s greed. Pure greed by the academic system.
Remote labs was a total joke. My son tried to do engineering labs remotely. No materials provided. Build this together but you can't be physically together. He dropped out.

I'm severely mobility handicapped, just short of 70 yrs of age and living in a broken down minivan... I would dearly love a motel room to stay in. So, not only do we not get a room, but the homeless elderly are completely ignored when it comes to much needed personal help that the non homeless get. As a woman who’s the same age as Madonna, I’m utterly mortified at how she’s conducting herself. She is incredibly embarrassing, it’s SO pathetic and sad. As you rightfully say, she’s terrified at her declining years and lack of relevancy - and I think it’s only going to get a whole lot worse 😳
Madonna is one of the most attention seeking women there is out there but her sexuallity is the only thing that made her gain something. She values the wrong things in life instead of being a good grandmother she cares more about her appearance she is ugly and all that plastic is disgusting.
This might be true about Madonna, however I think she is doing what she has to, to keep her relevance and life going. So far, she has sold out her shows this year and people is attending. For me, a person who can put together an entertainment show for a specific public, and be able at her age to keep hustling a tour… it is what’s keeping her alive. If you put Madonna in a home, you will probably kill her in a 2 year period. Let her do whatever she wants. Her shows are private, so it’s up to the people who pays for them to judge.
I am close to Madonna's age but I don't think of myself as all washed up or anything. Madonna's attempts to stop aging has made her look older and scarier. There is a balance between throwing in the towel and hitting Ihop in a housedress and strutting your old self on stage in a cat suit. If you can't look sexy at 65 one can at least look attractive.

This is why I really stopped following new music long ago. (and I love music!) In the '80, when I was born, the quality started to go down, the '90 was even worse. And then in this century music has turned into total crap. Sometimes I will check what the biggest hists of the year were, and I am baffled at the low quality of "hit" music. Take any mediocre song from the '70 and it would wipe the floor with all the "hits" of the year. Also - everything is a remake or a redo now - original ideas are nowhere to be found. I guess the perversion is the only field they still are creative in 🤣 This is why I and many others have abandoned TV, Cinema and gone over to UA-cam where I seek out and choose what I will watch. But even with UA-cam, if you ever look at what is "trending" it is the most absolute no-brained crap there too... But the algorythm knows me, so I don't get the morons and hoes in my feed 🤣🤣
I used to love Madonna back in the 80s, and still listen to her music of when she was normal and actually good. Nobody wants to get old, me included. You just need to accept it as part of life and just go with it as graciously as possible. But she's in denial and had turned herself into a freak.
But, as you do get older will you wish that you had the energy, stamina, flexibility, muscle tone and skills that you possessed when you were 23 that could keep you singling and dancing non stop for at least 4 hours a day 4 or 5 times a week, every week for a greater part of a year like Madonna? Or are you happy pulling a muscle or throwing out your back in your 30's or 40's just trying to get up from the couch? Let people live their lives the way that makes them happy. And at 65 yrs old, with ticket prices between $700 - $4000 per seat, she still sells out arenas. So obviously people still want to see her do her thing which is just reciprocating happiness between them and her... what's so wrong about that?

I'm sorry to hear about your homeless cousin. It is really scary. Being a citizen doesn't really grant us anything. I worked from about the age of 12, was attacked at work and injured really bad at the age of 33, my husband died several months later and I had two young teenage sons. I was desperate, had no income, and could not get any assistance for 3 months while I waited for my husband's death benefits to kick in. Yet, living in San Diego County and working at an elementary school I saw a lot of families who never worked here, never paid taxes, and were not citizens get every sort of assistance possible. It hurt. I never had asked for assistance before, I did not grow up on assistance, it is very confusing when you don't know how to play the game. I couldn't even get healthcare for my 2 children, forget about myself. It just isn't ok. It is wrong.

When I was in college, I had a (Female) business teacher. She was probably in her 50s. She made such an impression on me that I remember her to this day. She was in shape and beautifully dressed. She had beautiful grey hair and always wore it tied up in some fashion. She wore light makeup and never tried to hide the lines on her face. I admired her so much and made the decision right then and there that I wanted to age gracefully and look just like her in my older years. She dressed for her age (conservatively and appropriately) but she did it with CLASS! She was absolutely stunning! I have no doubt that she turned men's heads when they saw her and women admired her just like I did.

I am soon to be 64 and at one point in my life (in the 80s) was a professional singer who…shockingly… hated Madonnas pitchy singing but could appreciate her success and innovative branding of herself. The problem is she has not evolved and grown as an adult performer. She not only has become a laughing stock to the younger generation but has alienated her aging fan base by not growing along with us. I still sing and perform…but I’m not trying to relive my glory days, I instead have found I enjoy classic American songbook tunes. Giving them a new twist. Something she could be great at (with some voice lessons)

I made my adult daughter something to eat last night when she finally got home after taking care of sick people all day because she is a doctor. It was after 9:00 pm. She buys all of our food all the time. I always fixed food for my husband when he was alive. Continue fixing your family their food and when we fixed really big meals we all worked together making it. I consider it an act of love and It’s my part in helping. That woman was probably jealous that you had a great husband to fix a sandwich for.

As a woman who’s the same age as Madonna, I’m utterly mortified at how she’s conducting herself. She is incredibly embarrassing, it’s SO pathetic and sad. As you rightfully say, she’s terrified at her declining years and lack of relevancy - and I think it’s only going to get a whole lot worse 😳

This might be true about Madonna, however I think she is doing what she has to, to keep her relevance and life going. So far, she has sold out her shows this year and people is attending. For me, a person who can put together an entertainment show for a specific public, and be able at her age to keep hustling a tour… it is what’s keeping her alive. If you put Madonna in a home, you will probably kill her in a 2 year period. Let her do whatever she wants. Her shows are private, so it’s up to the people who pays for them to judge.
I am close to Madonna's age but I don't think of myself as all washed up or anything. Madonna's attempts to stop aging has made her look older and scarier. There is a balance between throwing in the towel and hitting Ihop in a housedress and strutting your old self on stage in a cat suit. If you can't look sexy at 65 one can at least look attractive.

This is why I really stopped following new music long ago. (and I love music!) In the '80, when I was born, the quality started to go down, the '90 was even worse. And then in this century music has turned into total crap. Sometimes I will check what the biggest hists of the year were, and I am baffled at the low quality of "hit" music. Take any mediocre song from the '70 and it would wipe the floor with all the "hits" of the year.
Also - everything is a remake or a redo now - original ideas are nowhere to be found. I guess the perversion is the only field they still are creative in 🤣
This is why I and many others have abandoned TV, Cinema and gone over to UA-cam where I seek out and choose what I will watch. I used to love Madonna back in the 80s, and still listen to her music of when she was normal and actually good. Nobody wants to get old, me included. You just need to accept it as part of life and just go with it as graciously as possible. But she's in denial and had turned herself into a freak.
But, as you do get older will you wish that you had the energy, stamina, flexibility, muscle tone and skills that you possessed when you were 23 that could keep you singling and dancing non stop for at least 4 hours a day 4 or 5 times a week, every week for a greater part of a year like Madonna? Or are you happy pulling a muscle or throwing out your back in your 30's or 40's just trying to get up from the couch? Let people live their lives the way that makes them happy. And at 65 yrs old, with ticket prices between $700 - $4000 per seat, she still sells out arenas. So obviously people still want to see her do her thing which is just reciprocating happiness between them and her... what's so wrong about that?
