Female sounds like a viking.
Male sounds like a classically trained actor playing as Eivor in theatre.
Now this is an actual comparison video, thank you. You really shown me that as great as Magnus Bruun's voice is, the female Eivor just sounds more organic.
Your ears are broken female eivor sounds like shes smoked cigarettes for 30 years and has a hole in her neck yall crazy 😂😂
@@wsharp8077 I mean yeah, she literally has a hole in her neck. She was bit in the neck by a wolf as a 9 year old. My point is that the female sounds much more authentic, whereas the male sounds like he's acting, reading a script and putting a stage on it. Works very well for one like Odin of course, but Eivor is is not Odin.
He didn't do bad by any means, if anything he's... too good.
@@alexanderthered5603 yeah bitten when they were 9 on the back of the neck not near the vocal chords it wouldn’t have had any long term effects on there speech it just doesnt seem realistic, like i said it sounds like shes a heavy nicotine addict they just tried to hard to make her gruff sounding which wasnt needed especially when you look at kassandra who was a good lead but didnt need to do all that
@@wsharp8077 Okay, sure. Doesn't change anything I said though in my original comment.
@@alexanderthered5603 doesnt change what i said either
male sounds like he's supposed to be British, not a Viking
Thank you, im playing Valhalla now, and I am very indecisive about who to choose, I believe I'll be going with her, if not I'll let the animus decide lolz
Playing Valhalla right now and I just found out the reasoning because why f eivor is a bit raspy is because of the wolf bite In the intro sequence. Male sound awesome true but they hinted literally the different tones between the two that is ingenious especially considering male sounds fine but for some reason female sounds she has throat damage here and there.
The wolf didn’t bite her throat
I honestly feel like female Eivor voice fits better. Male Eivor feels like a fancy british guy, doesn't sound like a viking warrior at all. Meanwhile female Eivor has a raspy voice because of all the yelling while fighting the warriors do.
She-vor is so boring, he-vor is easier to listen to and give a crap about but Valhalla as it stands is my least favorite of the three. I’m going to finally finish Valhalla after completing odyssey and hopefully I’ll have a definitive opinion but as of right now, every time I’ve tried to play through Valhalla was with she-vor and it is just so boring with her
@@JoseGonzalez-pf7mdI tried at one point but I couldn’t take her voice anymore
The male sound more like a rich nobleman than a viking
Yea I'm not a fan either.
@Negan turned legend
But the voice actor Magnus Bruun plays Cnut in the last kingdom
Damn bothe are good but ill go with fem eivor here because male sound like he's reading a book and really soft for his look. And female well have more depth in here voice and that intro with her words sounds baddass af
Maybe because the male actor knew he wasn't the Canon choice and thought fuck it.
Male Eivor's voice is perfect for Odin, though.
Female eivor sucks. Especially during the poetry parts. She is clearly over acting
@@alexanderthered5603 exactly
none of them are@@artisticskillz01
It’s revealed that female Eivor is canon and all that time as we play as male Eivor is just looking at odins dna revealing that Eivor is a reincarnation of Odin
Both are masterpieces. Can't choose either. 🥺
Female Eivor performance has more conviction to its tone. Like she is grown up through hard battle and hard living. The male voice actor sounds like some dandy that should be standing in front of a parliamentary procedure.
I played as female and I didn't regret. Just began as male *insert nordic female name* and I just can't get into it.
complete opposite here. Female Eivor is just lifeless compared to male Eivor.
I guess it's a Yin-Yang effect? In this day and age, u could be either despite gender, but the Yang = "Light" while Yin = "Darkness" .... stangely applicable here since Male Eivor gives an energetic vibe (thrillers) while Female Eivor is soothing yet deadly (horror movie vibes).
Ok
@@teamtrpt8216 Fr. Male Eivor sounds so wise but at the same time he’s a crazy warrior
Male voice sounds like he is reading of a script.
To be fair he was. Magnus was hired to play Odin and then when they decided to throw in the male option towards the end, he was given Cecilie's script and told to read it. He sounds MUCH better as Odin.
they both have very good and very bad parts. sadly I can't choose
I initially thought male eivor had better voice but now I’m not sure, male is good but does sound like reading from a script....maybe I’ll just let animus decide
Female it is then. Quit Odyssey after playing as Alexios, few months later gave it another try as Kassandra, couldnt put it down from start to finish and I usually play male characters in other games.
But the voice acting in these games are so much better on the female side, it's amazing.
Thank you for the video!
I want to play as male Eivor. But the female one has better voice to my ear. Since this is gonna be a long game, I prefer to hear my favorite voice over and over again.
I guess everyone has an opinion. I like male voice more
I much prefer Alexios in Odyssey, but female Eivor here
I'm about to start my first playthrough and yeah the male voice sounds way too soft to be a viking killing machine..The female voice is way more intense even if it is forced.
100% agree. Choose "Let the Animus decide", its the canon option and you play as female Eivor. I dont want to give anything away, but you'll understand by the end.
I feel like the male voice doesn’t fit the character and kinda sounds like he’s reading a script rather than trying to be in character. I think I’ll go with a female character just like with Odyssey.
His voice is cool, but it’s the same with Odyssey,, the guys aren’t putting enough vibes in.
It doesn't sound manly enough... i expected to hear a deep badass voice if im gonna be running around chopping arms off🤷♂️
I agree. It doesn't matter much to me though either way as I'll be playing the female version. Everything about her right down to her very name screams "I'm canon", whether Ubi wants to openly admit it or not lol.
@@QuantumShadow Nice. I'm gonna stick to the classic male tho. Gives me the nostalgic vibes from childhood haha.
@@QuantumShadow they both have the same name
@@FeathersMcGraw643 Yes
i mean are you saying the female is manlier?
Whats hapenning with the male voice casting? Alexios was terrible, looked like que had an egg in the mouth while talking, and now we get a broadway stunt playing viking. For god sakes ubisoft. Fire who is leading this cast. Bayek was so perfect
It's because in both Odyssey and Valhalla the main character is female. They were forced to add in a male version far to late into development and therefore had to get the male actors to read the script damn near the last minute.
@@QuantumShadow Didnt know this
@@rodrigoparanhos3080 Yep. According to the Ubisoft execs "females don't sell games".
damn, I really wanted to play male version as always, but this voice doesn't suit his look at all. Not manly enough.
Voices don't have predisposed look to sound like. That just expectation not being met
Honestly I'm not a fan of either. I'm currently playing the newer AC games and I'm not looking forward to this in terms of voice acting.
Bayek was great and Kassandra as well. Alexios was too cartoony for my taste and lacked nuance.
These two sound forgettable at best and the male Eivor is a complete miscast.
Man sounds more rough and more intimidating
The actress is straining her voice too far from her natural voice, trying to get it deeper and rough sounding. Ends up sounding like a lesbian.
The actor's voice is natural raspy and awesome.
She sounds that way because of the wolf bite on her neck,
Yea male VA is the way to go.
