My brother has tried to end it multiple times and also deals with addiction. A couple of the times I found him. Even from the couple of lines from this song, I can feel those emotions and know it will be healing for so many people ❤ (my brother is doing wonderfully now after finding help and support- it gets better but you can’t do it alone!) edit: just finished the video and I am sobbing. Hit me so hard
When I first heard this song I thought of my brother who’s going though an emotional roller coaster and he feels like the only way off is ☠️. It’s been 2 weeks and three days since you gave us part of this song and I find my self in the hospital recovering from back surgery I had on my 21st birthday( July 10th) due to a pretty nasty crash I had on my dirtbike the day before (July 9th). I don’t want anything from you I don’t even care if you like this comment I don’t need that I just need you to understand even just the small portion you gave us has helped me so much. I’ve struggled my whole life with anxiety and depression so when I first woke up from the accident my first thought was “why am I such a fighter, I don’t want to fight this it hurts to bad” but everyday I wake up I do what the doctors tell me to do and I patiently wait for this song to drop I can’t thank you enough for this song it 100% changed the way I think and the way I take on life. I originally thought of my brother when I heard this song I will now forever listen to this song and realize how hard I fought to be where I am today and how easy it is to change your mind.

You know, it’s crazy how people think that just because someone is “Famous” or because they have such a big following/fan base that they don’t have their own back story. I’m so glad to see people like Alex not be afraid to share their pain and story with the world! It truly is nice to be able to have music like Alex’s to listen to! My dad chose his abusive girlfriend over me on July 2nd and I was forced to move back into my alcoholic mother’s house. This whole situation has made my mental health spiral downhill to the point where I can’t even cry no matter how hurt I am.
I miss my dad. The night I ran for my life, it felt like my dad passed away.
i lost my dad, well stepdad but i called him dad, a couple years ago.. when he passed away i had to move in with my biological father (bad alcoholic too) i felt the same way. A year down the road i finally was able to leave and worked on my mental health. Just know it will get better. Don’t let her words or hatefulness get to you. I’ve been in your shoes and didn’t expect to be where i am now. Stay strong girl. You got this❤ IT ALWAYS GETS BETTER.
Girl I went through this at the end of my senior year in 2020 , TO A TEE. My abusive stepmom came back and moved back in over the course of 1 weekend. I came home to the whole house being took over and decided I wasn’t going through abuse again, took as much as I could and never came back. I had to go to my moms house who was a serious drug addict. Lost some family members and mom was down on the deep end. Lived in a house with no AC or running water. It was so hurtful because it was like I was betrayed by my dad. I understand your pain, things get better as you get older and are able to provide for yourself. 3 years later and im married with our own little humble place. LIFE GETS BETTER!!! I know it’s hard to have dysfunctional parents but as soon as you are able to care for yourself you know that you can’t let yourself down like they let you down. You know that if/when you have kids that they won’t go through anything that you went through. It makes me really sad looking back to my hopeless 17 year old self but i promise promise PROMISE that life gets better. Going through things like that also gives you a drive to succeed like no other. I’m with you and you got this❤️❤️❤️

As someone who has been suicidal in the past this helps a lot!!! The last time I was suicidal I actually was texting with someone on the suicide hotline and they told me they weren’t gonna call the cops and they actually did, they got me help! My uncle is a dispatcher and showed up when they got the call!! There are people out there to help with thoughts of suicide, depression, anxiety, anything you can think of! There is support. It may not be your family and friends, it may be family and friends, but if you don’t have them there for you, there’s always other support!!! Thank you Alex for this song it made me cry my eyes out!!!

Even though im months past my absolute low and on medication now I still have a love for emotional music. 3 months ago I was passed out in my garage with my car running. eventually waking up to laying in a stretcher in an ambulance. Now im liking life a little bit more everyday and not taking for granted as much which feels really good because I could've been dead instead.

as someone who has lost so many people due to suicide and personally struggling with it myself, and almost losing my brothers due to suicide this song means so much to me. thank you for putting this song out, it’s not only going to help me to keep going but it’s going to help others as well. suicide and mental health isn’t talked about enough. and especially when men go through it, people just look at men and tell them to “grow up” , “your a man”, and “your not allowed to be sad or deal with it”. it’s so fucked up that society has made it a point to show men they aren’t allowed to show there true emotion or struggles. so again thank you for putting this song out ❤
