The lists are either a list of pointless things or the list it's self is what's pointless so it doesn't matter if the things have a point if theirs no point in making a list of them to begin with.
Arugal is that kind of dude that you accidentally cut off in traffic one time, and then forty years later shows up with an army of followers to enact his revenge.
Miranda the Hag could also be a disguise that Chromie was using back before dragons were on such good speaking terms with the mortal races. Chromie was hanging out in Andorhal back in Vanilla and you wouldnt have encountered her until some time after you had crossed paths with Miranda. This would have been the very first encounter with a bronze dragon for the vast majority of the playerbase either way as the rest of them were sealed up in the Caverns of Time until the Aq patch rolled around. I also kinda feel like Tabetha was originally intended to be Aegwynn before all of Dustwallow got rewritten around that one Inn that got burned down and the Innkeeper's family got butchered. Did we ever truly solve who did that? I feel like in cata the mystery was brought back up but I dont recall if it was ever solved.
That's a pretty lengthy questline, but if I remember correctly, you find out it was some of those evil-looking Tauren that torched the Inn. It's not a major point on the map, but there's a small village of them (Blackhoof Village) that you eventually have to burn down as payback for the Inn deal. While it is basically poetic justice, it's a very strange quest as you run around their camp and set tents on fire while killing everyone.....
@@vtr0104 yeah it’s extra strange because the entire narrative is mixed up with the Theramore deserters story that seems to be somewhat connected but not entirely so. Do we find out why the Grimtotem do it? I remember the Grimtotem from the Cata rework but can’t think if they were there on vanilla. It is definitely one of those zones where just on its face you can tell some behind the scenes fuckery took place while it was being designed.
@@Qprah Grimtotem were in Feralas dyring Vanilla for sure. I think they had thia belief of ownership for all of Kalimdor and any foreigner was an interloper or whatevs.
Inside the booty bay statue in the treasure is a large black diamond ring toy. I've had that toy equipped on my DH for as long as I've had the ring. Yes you can see it on the character, it's literally huge.
@crendor Deadeye is a “dark shaman” but later the class name was changed to warlock, hence why Garrosh wouldn’t help them because he outlawed the dark arts.
7:29 I just wish thr Dwarf who Punched Deathwing was a different dwarf from Theldurin, because ANY Dwarf can tell a drunken tall tale. But Vanilla Theldurin was a really cool haunted paranoid ex-twilight cultist in vanilla, and that was somwthing unique and cool that writer Dave Kossak chose to remove RIGHT AS WE GOT AN EXPACK ANOUT THE TWILIGHT CULT!
I think my favourite NPC you should know about, is Trag Highmountain. He is this tauren from the comics, who travels around, somehow ends up in the Eastern Kingdoms, and works for this Forsaken baron who comes into posession of a powerful item called the Orb of Ner'zhul. They eventually run into Anveena, the baron turns out to be evil and tries to take Anveena's power for himself, and uses the Orb of Ner'zhul to raise a Frostwyrm. Trag fights the baron, crushes the Orb, causing the Frostwyrm to crush the tower they were in, killing them both. Now how does Trag end up being an NPC in the game? The Orb raises him as an undead Death Knight, with the orb constantly regenerating him if he should die. He hears the call of the Lich King from Northrend however, which makes him go berserk from time to time. During Trag's journey, he comes across Thrall, who he fights, but Trag eventually calms down enough to reason with Thrall. He befriends the Taunka in Northrend, reaches the Lich King, and gets dominated by the Lich King. But when Arthas sent him to go kill the Taunka he befriended, he broke free from Arthas' control and struck him in the chest. Arthas wasn't very pleased about that, and launched him away. The orb reconstructed him again, however, and he was now free from the Lich King. That's a pretty impressive story, but what does he do in the game? Walk around the Argent Tournament with his Taunka friend, having even become a part of the Taunka faction which I find to be a neat touch. When the assault on Icecrown happened, Blizzard made an "arrow to the knee" joke about him when asked what Trag was doing during the assault. Finally, during Legion, you can find him in the Ebon Hold. No idea when he joined the Knights of the Ebon Blade or why, but he's there, but Blizzard technically remembered he existed. Now there is also the weird thing of there now being "Highmountain Tauren", but Trag predating them while not being a "Highmountain tauren" despite him being their "predecessor" in the game/lore, but there also were Blackrock orcs before they knew about Blackrock Mountain on Azeroth so stranger coincidences have happened.
I'm so happy they brought Jorin Deadeye in orc heritage questline I think he's pretty major character in a way because he's son of Kilrogg which is kinda equal to garrosh as son of grom
All of these neat NPCs with awesome backstories really make me miss the days before the writing became absolute trash. I haven't played in years, but I still follow along, on the wisp of a hope it'll get better.
Ehh is it really fair to say the writing is "absolute trash" with such conviction when you haven't experienced the writing and are only getting second hand accounts?
I've always felt like the big bosses of SFK and Deadmines should've held a more prominent position as end-game bosses. Edwin & Vanessa Vancleef, Arugal, both situations held promise for their stories to lead up to something more end-game expansion worthy. Sadly they're more or less just beginning fodder bosses that become irrelevant after you conquer the dungeons. I remember some expansions had intro bosses in minor dungeons that lead to raid boss encounters, so I don't know why these bosses couldn't have gotten the same treatment.
4:47 I like how Zanzil and some of his zombies even in Cata use a odel from the WoW ALPHA intended for Forest trolls (that shares animation with the forest and ice and shadow trolls from wc3!!) It makes them very buff for Jungle trolls, and honestly has a cooler sharper face than thr Burning Crusade Zul Aman version of Forest trolls too.
it's always neat to see models that are just directly imported from WC3. I mean they look kinda awful in comparison to even models from Classic which is why they've almost all been replaced but it's still neat.
Oh my god, I haven't seen Crendor in years and forgot about his top 10 lists, but as soon as I clicked the video and saw the Booty Bay intro it all came flooding back.
Funny coincidence: Just a couple of days ago I was checking stuff about Grim Batol (the function of the place in WC2, not WoW), and both Bleeding Hollow Clan and Jorin Deadeye came up. Watching this video gave a good blast of déjà vu I had to think a while what for.
Something else to note about Tabitha, she seems to be extremely skilled at placing and removing demons from powerful orbs. She is involved in 2 different quests to one warlock class quest and one mage class quest that has her exorcise powerful demons from orbs. And mentions her history with the warlock meenara voidrender.
That magician in Dal is the source of an awesome, pointless toy: Akazamzarak's Spare Hat from the Mage quest: Down the Rabbit Hole. But once you get the toy all your toons can do the trick. Tabetha is very important to Mages. And Zanzils mixture was the most mind numbing drop rate in the game. Also somehow I have Jorins eye patch in my mog set. Use it on my NE Hunter. I thought it was so cool I pack ratted it. Not sure if it's still available, can't recall how I got it other than it was a long quest chain.
I love the concept of an incredibly powerful wizard pretending to be a sleight of hand artist. Something about using UNLIMITED COSMIC POWERS to pull a rabbit out of a hat is hilarious to me.
Ah-kah-zam-zar-ack. You'd have it memorized too if you had to listen to it every single time you walked by him to use the alliance side bank for that whole expansion.
It's funny - as a dyed in the wool "resident" of Southshore until it got nuked, the second I saw him onscreen in this video I instinctively growled, "F*** you, Helcular!"
Huh. For some reason I always assumed Tabatha was Aegwynn in disguise. Like, assumed it to the point that I didn't realize it wasn't common knowledge and just my assumption.
Lol i find it hilarious how no one in azeroth realises how dangerous akamzarak is.... One mistake from the goblin and azeroth will turn into outland... After all its canon in legion that illidan used portal magic to destroy Nathreza... And that was a single portal...this guy opens 8 at once
It's so funny to me that crendor started incorporating lore into these videos after a good chunk of the wow community gave up on the lore. The only wow lore vids I watch anymore are crendors 💀

Maybe Tabetha is a dragon. That would explain the aging and why she is next to Onyxia's lair
Arugal was also brought back by the scourge during wrath. He then started spreading the Worgen curse in Grizzly Hills, before we stopped him.
The Great Akazamzarak has another bit of trivia!
