Recently picked up the solid body G6131T w. Bigsby PE -Cherry Red / MIJ - it's really player friendly with the way the neck is set up, beautiful, and of course it has that Beatlish 'jingle jangle' chimey thing on the middle position that I love. My first Gretsch (mainly playing Gibsons since the 70's).

Pete Townshend used that big orange Gretsch (gifted to him along with an amp, distortion pedal and cable from Joe Walsh) on almost every single Who album. That guitar is the sound of The Who more than any other.

he also smashed it on a British tv music show. but his tech saved it, and it was sold eventually to Johnnie Marr, but I don't know who has it now.

I love my old 6120, but it does go out of tune, it feeds back really easily, I have to use double-sided tape under the bridge, and string changes are a pain. Vive la Players Edition!

    "My new tusk lubricated nut!"
... "Uh, Billy, I was asking you about your new Gretsch guitar..."

It's it that hard to restring a ball-pin Bigsby. I just pre-bend the string before hooking the ball on the pin. Locking tuners help too.

I do the same thing but it's still awkward. Of course the Rickenbacker "R" tailpiece was even tougher, in my opinion.

Is the Gretsch G5410T the Electromaitc version of a Tennessee Rose? in other words The Tennessee rose is the thin body so is the Rat Rod/Tri-Five the same dementions? Mainly asking so I can figure out Case options.

The more Gretsch videos I watch, the more I am coming to realize that tone controls on electric guitars are not actually necessary.

People wind strings on locking tuners? Assuming they bought the guitar with strings, they must be fucking blind.
