Giving you an insight into all things BADMINTON! - Спорт
I think unpredictability in your shots, using variety all the time and assessing your opponent's weaknesses quickly, is the difference between good and weak badminton players.
Definitely another one!! Thanks 😀
Mine smash is so inaccurate it’s a blessing
🏸🏸
Got a state tourney on Saturday and I’m vs a ranked 27th in Australia haha see how I go lol
Good luck! 👍🏼🏸
Do it like Nozumi. Return everything he plays, until he(she?) gets frustrated xD
Goodluck fam
Sheesh good luck
@@realmtraveller lmaoo that's what I was going to say
I think the biggest differences I’ve seen playing with untrained vs trained players is the way they handle the racket and their footwork. Trained players can use just their racket to guide shots, without having to move their body along and they can vary shots easily and unpredictably and get more power with proper grip. Their footwork is also way more efficient and they don’t tiptoe and stumble after the shuttle, but often wait to pounce and use efficient, minimal steps which they can easily return back from without breaking form.
I love your video tutorials. They’re so clear and address the topics really well. Thanks
Ah that’s amazing to hear, thanks Marcus!
You guys are actually insane, you guys have allowed me to become from a second round loser to a much better player being able to actually win matches agaist stronger players!
What sorts of things have you applied? :)
Hi there mr crab 😂 sorry we didn’t reply to this - it seemed to get lots amongst other comments! And thanks a lot for your continued support! @@BadmintonInsight 🤣
I'm British but live in Japan and work at a private school in Tokyo. Playing badminton in the school club with my students is one of my favourite things to do. I had never played before coming here, and the coach treats me rudely, thinking I can't understand his Japanese, and so refuses to help me learn. As a result, learning the game is made rather difficult.
Having said that, thanks to this channel and a small handful of others I've been able to improve so much in just one year. I'm going to keep getting stronger and then be able to teach my students more than just how to speak English.
Wow, they're so rude.
That's brilliant - keep up the good work :)
Right on 💪
I like to play with my students as well
Keep playing. We all have to start from somewhere. It is sad to see people not playing with a beginner - or give some suggestions when being asked for advice. We were all beginners at life. Don't forget badminton is a game - it should be fun .
at 55 i really should embrace again a sport I used to represent the Royal Navy at. I guess my pride at knowing I am no longer capable of playing at anything like that standard now has made me feel it would be a pointless excercise but your videos have inspired me. I agree most whole heartedly with the " don't hit it to your opponent". The number of players that seem to do this all the time is really surprising. Also better to play a low percentage return that leads to a good position that a high percentage shot that gives them a huge positional advantage. Thanks again for making me think about this sport again.
I'd add a 6th one for beginners, speaking from experience: good coaching. I just started taking lessons a few months ago and while my coach is good, I feel he may be coaching me as if I'm a more advanced player who knows all the basics of the game already. Said coach is away for a month and I'm now taking lessons with a substitute coach who's fantastic with beginners like myself. Good coaching, along with having a playing partner on a similar skill level as yourself, can make all the difference when you're first starting out.
This is the #1 channel on badminton, modern, concise, and full of quality content.
Wow thank you so much ☺️

Love from India…🏸

I find your advice really helpful and interesting. I'm always struggling looking at the shuttlecock and the opponents' position at the same time. That's why they can catch my shots easily quite a few times. Maybe because I always put the practice at the top and game reading at the end of the list. Thanks a lot for your videos. Looking forward to seeing yours.
This video is a must watch. It improved my game no end. Especially the tip to watch opponent's body position to guess which shot they play and where they'll play it. Just won 4/5 games tonight.
Thanks for the coaching tips🏸
Been playing badminton for years. Confident in my footwork but still not sure if i'm using the right grip in every shots I make. Thanks for an amazing video.
Glad you enjoyed it Oplok, keep working on the grips - you'll get there!
Me too. Often finding myself dropping the racket because of a too loose grip. Or having skin issues while grapping too strongly the grip. Or simple lacking power in smashes.
Do you have any advice for me please?
OMG SO close to 100k!!! 😱🥳 Can't wait for you to reach this milestone, so deserved.
Aahhh thank you so much!
And can't wait for both of them getting married . As they said in last year's video
@@shubhamsnehil8023 yes that's what we are waiting for
Waiting for the marriage lmao
Ur teaching improved my game a lot.Thank you very much.

I absolutely loved this video !!! This is prefect for us who are trying to improve at this sport without access to a coach. Bravo 👏
Thank you !!!!!!🏸
Got 100k!!! Congratulations Greg and Jenny you deserve everything with what you've done. Amazing Videos 🎥 ❤
🎾 Really miss playing at the national centre in MK, now living in Spain and playing regional in Murcia and Valencia regions. Your tips have helped me to a singles title in Murcia and doubles title in Valencia. Thanks for your help.
Nice - you'll have better weather in Spain! That's great to hear 😃 Have you come across our old coach Mike Adams in Murcia?
@@BadmintonInsight Not yet, but have tournament in Las Torres de Cortillas next to Murcia on 20th. Will ask to see if he is around.

I am an advanced badminton player and I still learned a lot from this video.
We’re glad! It’s definitely not just for beginners!!
I really love your videos!!! Very informative and easy to understand. More power to you both and your channel!🏸
Thank you so much!!! This video helped me a lot to improve my game
Glad it helped! 😄
Yet another fabulous video. You both have been continuously giving us the best ways to improve our game. Can't thank you enough ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much Umesh!!
Hey, check my channel as well for badminton videos :)
This video really helped me. I love your other tutorials. Thank you for posting these! ❤
Thanks for watching!
🏸Refresher course for me after 2 years of quarantine. Here’s to becoming a better badminton player in 2022. Planning to join a friendly tournament in January. Wish me luck! 🏆
Good luck 🤞🏼
Wish there was content like this back in 2010s when I was actively learning and playing more. Just started playing again this year and your videos has given me a refresher on everything. Keep up the great content!
Glad they’re helping now!! 😀
+1 and became a Patreon member!
Another great video 🏸
Practicing the shot using the correct technique over and over again is so important. This can only be achieved by having someone to feed the shuttle into the correct spot over and over and over again! Not always easy to find such a person 🤔
Ah thanks, and thanks for watching until the end 😜 Yes definitely is!
I’m one month into badminton and I’m so addicted to it. Your channel is really helpful. Cheers 🏸
Glad we can help Marvin 😃
🎾
Thanks a Lot for the guidance and tips. Very helpful ❤
🏸 I didn't think that the video was _that_ long. Thanks for the tips; I think I've really got to work on that "purposeful practise" part. I think I would categorise myself as a beginner, with my footwork, so that's one area I'll need to really work on. I'll keep an eye out on the channel for any advice (and maybe drill advice?) that you both have! Thanks again.
We’ve done a couple of videos on footwork on the channel already, have you seen those? 😃
I thought I had, but I've only seen the four-corners related one. I'll scroll through and find the others!
this helped me to get a 3rd place i normally get last place tysm!
You’re very welcome! Glad it has helped 😀
@@BadmintonInsight wow u replied You helped me so much im going to a badminton game today and see if your tip can help me get a first place😇
thankyou so much!!
You're welcome! 😄
🏸 Yet another informative and clear video. Your channel has really helped me (a 50 year old man 😊) get back into playing and enjoying badminton again. I am hoping to join a local club so that I can improve my game further. Keep up the good work! 🙂
Thanks for your videos im actually gonna play on september 30 on a "all you can play" in the philippines and i can't help but binge you videos thanks!
Great summary compilation of advice - thank you 🏸🏸🏸 Really appreciate that you're putting these videos out weekly! Doesn't it get harder to think of new content? Anyway, it's all brilliant - so clearly conveyed - keep going please 🙂
Thank you so much Tom! 😄🏸 Fortunately we have a list of about 70-80 video ideas, so we should be OK for a few more weeks 😆

🏸 Well done for creating quality contents like this one! Great advices, well explained and friendly vibe here. However I found the advices were a bit technical for beginners, as an Intermediate I'm gonna follow your steps but it might be hard for a real beginner to apply everything 😉 See you in the next video!
Thanks, hope it would help me in improving the game 🙏
🎾 Great video! Thanks for the advice guys, lets's take the game to the next level! 😁
You’re very welcome! Good luck 😀
Thank you guys soo much!!! you both have helped me improve my game as i watch more videos of yours 🏸🏸🏸🏸🏸🏸 and i hope you both keep making these videos and we all keep supporting you!!!!!
edit : thank you for the heart also there are many fans of yours from other countries as im for India
Thank you so much!
I generally play in doubles and find myself comfortable in it - however playing in singles is a challenge to me - and so visited your video to get some more tricks
I watch same video in every winters 😂
Awesome video Greg and Jenny!! I love watching your videos about badminton.
There is one question if you answered, it would be much appreciated.
In doubles, if the server serves the serves and shuttle is going to the wrong court(not diagonally) but the shuttle is hit by the receiver's partner, not by the receiver himself then who wins the point?
Fault as only the receiver can legally return. Point to the server
Thanks for doing our job for us Raff 😃
Thank you so much! Hope Raff's answer is clear 😀
@@BadmintonInsight Always happy to ‘serve’ 😉
@@BadmintonInsight Yes, thank you so much!!
Amazing helped a lot thank you
Thanks for the video ! In my opinion, footwork and consistency are the most important things to progress further as a player. Being able to return every shots in the court is the very essence of badminton. PS : the wedding is getting closer and closer ...
Yes definitely 2 very important things! Haha, we know - crazy!
Informative as always. Quick question though, I hope you don't mind: how do I improve my reaction time, especially when it comes to returning a smash? Keep up the good work, regards from Vietnam 🏸🏸🏸
Thanks Dat! Check out this video on improving your reaction time - ua-cam.com/video/A2FA2qcBVjE/v-deo.html and also our video on reading the game! And thanks for watching until the end 😃
