We had a surprise Alpha drop and with it, all of the zones of the War Within are unlocked! I decided to start from the peaks of the Isle of Dorn and dive deep into the final zone of Azj-Kahet. Along the way I took in the sights of Dornogal, Ringing Deeps, Hallowfall, and finally the City of Threads!
(There is a single edit from Dornogal to Ringing Deeps when the Alpha threw a loading screen at me, but that will be removed for live. Also, any frame drops or hitches are from the current Alpha build.)
We've got plenty more videos coming in over the next week so be sure to give a thumbs up and subscribe! - Ігри
I love how the whole thing transitions, from a traditional island zone to a lush cavern zone with fiery areas and a few dry areas to a vast and open zone with a mix of stormheim and nazjatar and then into a mysterious open underground zone that looks like a mix of underrot and nazjatar
Yeah, despite 3 out of the 4 zones being underground, we very much get a different experience in each.
It's wonderful how much work they've put in
they truly outdid themselves. Beautiful.
It's incredible from top to bottom...literally!
I think a lot of folks who don’t like Isle of Dorn miss the point of needing an area to reset from the horror below
It also gives us a real nice introduction to a lot of the stuff we're going to be seeing later.
I like that the Isle of Dorn is sort of like a blank canvas that you can do with more over the expansion. Its also an amazing contrast to the wonders/horrors below.
I agree with having a zone like that, it just seems rather small and empty compared to the other maps.
@@imthrillz5255 it's actually massive. You only see a small part of it here in this flythrough
@@Kexman oh ok
This is phenomenal. I'm absolutely speechless with how they all come together and how you can fly so seamlessly. Thank you for the video and amazing job to the devs!
Wait, you're telling me all the zones are stacked vertically on top of each other? That's some Dark Souls 1 shit bruh. Sweet.
Ohhh yes! It's possible to go straight from the Surface to the depths of Azj-Kahet in one go!
These locations are fucking huge and amazing to look at. Once again, the Art Team carries! Honestly, between the cosmic stuff like the Shadowlands, to the more grounded stuff like DF, TWW, MoP, Wrath, etc, I really love how the Art Team continues to impress by fully realizing the fantasy of these places. The Shadowlands looked alien, it looked like a Death realm (The same way Zereth Mortis captured the feeling of a biblical workshop). And Khaz'Algar looks huge, it perfectly captures the vastness of what's beneath the surface. Great fucking job Art Team.
The flythroughs really don't do the zones justice when it comes to their size. They are MASSIVE!
if this is what the art-team does for TWW, I'm excited to see how they re-imagine Silvermoon in Midnight >.>
@Kexman The art team will do wonders with Quel'Thalas, and Northrend in the coming expacs. Can't wait for Avaloren, the new Draenei city, and the other cosmic realms too tbh. Ik the art will carry
Maybe it’s a weird comparison, but the scope and massive travel distance gives me Skyrim vibes. Especially that feeling when you first go out adventuring from one zone to the another. It looks like Blizzard outdid themselves, WoW is looking fresh as ever
I can see the comparison to a degree. It's not one I would have made myself but I do get it.
They've definitely outdone themselves though, this one is mega special
I'm hyped for this xpac like no other
Yeah, the hype is absolutely real!
As far as I remember, Blizzard said during BlizzCon that all 4 zones will be stacked on one another vertically, which is possible thanks to the new technology of moving a player between maps seamlessly without a loading screen like in Zaralek Cavern, but now I see that only the Isle of Dorn and Ringing Deeps have this kind of transition (I could see the little warp at 1:51), while the rest of the underground zones are next to one another with just different elevation levels. Nevertheless, it's cool to see this technology used again, but it looks like travelling with just one route could be less convenient than on "conventional" continents - going from the Isle to Azj-Kahet will require you to pass through two other zones through the same passage. So I hope there will be more tunnels and passages between zones.
So the warp you see is because the Alpha has a Loading screen currently. I'm pretty sure that won't be there come release.
Also, you can go straight from Ringing Deeps to Azj-Kahet if you want to and you can skip Hallowfall completely. I simply showed the Hallowfall section as a way to show off all the zones in the flythrough :)
This looks really interesting! I might come back to the game after a 2+ year break (I'm currently kinda back just for mop remix lol). Thanks for showing it off so well! :D
I really wish that the ringing deeps were less cavern-y and more like Mines of Moria, massive halls with pillars, bridges over gaping chasms, a vast underground dwarven city/titan machine to explore
That would have been very cool, and it does extend even further down than you see in this video. It does get very grandiose
Thank god these zones seem way better then dragon isles
Looks amazing, thanks. First thing I want to do on the Beta now is do that whole flight.
It's definitely worth doing, especially as you get to see every zone!
Flying in looks fine but flying back out is going to be a pita. Especially the ringing deeps back to the isle of dorn
Yeah, I'm hoping they add some form of boost, similar to the Dragon riding races, that speed us up out of the areas.
idk about you but i have never once flown out of zaralek caverns to the dragon isles. only the other way in.
@Kexman 4:46 doesn't that look kinda like a boost?
@@aFoolsMartyr I thought that when I first saw them but they do nothing :(
@@Kexman oh ok, they look so similar
3:00 that's the most beautiful Vista in WoW to date for me personally. Amazing.
Just wow
It is indeed World of Warcraft!
It'll be fun to fly down through the zones, but it'll be a pain in the butt to fly back up
another great video as always!
Thank you very much!
looks cool
It is cool :D
beautiful. really excited!!!!
It's a good time to be excited!
6:23 it looks like you can keep going down
It may look that way, but it's just for looks there. If you fly into that crevasse it's just a death zone awaiting you. I did try but it was a swift trip to the graveyard for me!
Ok, blizzard. It is really good looking.
Are we seeing a Warcraft Renaissance
ok but how long does it take to fly back out from the bottom? ;3
I hope they don't rush the release, everything looks crazy unfinished, world is so empty
It's actually not at all. Everything is populated and ready to go pretty much. You just might not see it on the flythrough. You can quest from 70 to 80 with the MSQ and side quests, do all the dungeons and delves, plus the endgame stuff!
