    Thank you for commenting on my text. N.J. slot guy is how I heard about cowboy and what he used to do. To me very much like what he explains about poker machines. I will be 71 the 24th of this month and just one time I want a Royal. My play has cut down a lot because I take care of my older brother in the second stage of a bad disease that has ruined it mind and control of his body. I hate nursing homes but I'm doing the best I can Sir. By no means did mean to go on about my brother and I. But to be honest no one wants to help even his family members. I don't have a simulator so I watch and listen to a lot of players. I enjoy watching and listening to your information while playing. You are one of the players very helpful. Another one I just started watching is cowboy. He is very good at explaining the machines. I play at hard rock when I can. It's up and down like you said and have the money to play at your limit. You also have to have the other have of playing is LUCK that goes with it also. Enjoyed very much one thing I have never hit a royal or 4 ace's with a kicker. And believe me I have played a lot of video poker. One day, One Day

    • @johnsworldofvideopoker
      @johnsworldofvideopoker  2 роки тому

      If you have an iPhone you can pay a one-time fee of $5-$10 for the WinPoker App video poker simulator to improve your overall success in video poker. And you’re absolutely right, LUCK plays a big role in video poker wins. That Luck will become more frequent in the casinos as players practice at home to fine-tune their game for betters gains at the machines. Low volatility games such as 9/6 JoB & 8/5 BP along with daily simulator practice will reward you with the Royal Flushes that we all are seeking. Thank you for the the info, Walter, I’ll checkout cowboy, as you mentioned!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

    Another nice video John.
    Finally cracked my royal dry spell Wednesday for $4k. I've probably had 25 dealt 4 to a royal's in the past 6 months and finally converted one on BPD. I've been studying up on penalty cards and have really started to dial in my game on those odd one off hands. Video Poker Trainer on hard mode helps with those.
    Keep up the good work, I like your advice on and how you show discipline. Probably one of the hardest aspects of the game to master!

    • @johnsworldofvideopoker
      @johnsworldofvideopoker  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much for liking my content. Even more so, because of all your clear and concise information in your comments. I'm so glad you broke through your dry spell on Royals. It's the doldrums for sure when your stuck in one of those and I know what it's like. I like BPD too and that came can quickly come to your rescue if you're down in the bankroll. You switch to BPD and if you hit just any Quad at all, you're back in business. Slotmassacre is so adept at playing that game & using that strategy. I love your suggestion to use a simulator on the hard (increased difficulty) mode. I never would have thought of that as an aid to refining your skill level on the penalty card plays. You're very correct too, in your understanding the value of "patience", in 8/5 Bonus Poker. Thank you for such a thorough and thoughtful reply! Double Kudos to you!

    First off, we really enjoy your channel! This little series you are doing at Red Rock has really gotten us excited about getting back out to Vegas and trying this place out. My wife and I have gotten into video poker somewhat recently and do our best to practice at home every day. Still learning a lot, but Bonus Poker is definitely our favorite game to play when we go to Vegas.

      Thank you for liking & subscribing to my channel. If you’ve never been to Red Rock (& if you really like video poker) than you must check it out. Now it is 10 miles West of the Strip and a lot of folks talk themselves out of going over there for that reason, but I recommend going there to see what Vegas used to be like in it’s “video poker heyday”. Sure they have Slots at Red Rock, but it “Caters” to video poker players. It’s a “sea of video poker machines”. They have 8/5 Bonus Poker from 25¢ coin al the way through $100 coin. Then you can head back to where you’re staying on the Strip. Once you’ve been to Red Rock, then you can head to Palace Station (which is practically on the Strip) on your future trips if you don’t feel like going up to Red Rock on subsequent trips. Slotmassacre & I go there on virtually every trip to Las Vegas, at least once during our stay. I prefer to stay & play on the strip in the high limit areas of Caesars, Wynn, Mirage, Bellagio etc. which feature 8/5 BP at $5 and up. Practice, practice, practice is your key to video poker nirvana. Have fun. Let me know upon your return, how it went for you in Vegas! Take care!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

      @@johnsworldofvideopoker Thanks for the info. We've played at Palace Station once. I thought it was a good casino. In the few times we've been to Vegas together and played video poker, we've found the Boyd properties offer a good selection of games. But, we're now very, very interested in Red Rock and we'll probably stay there at least a couple of nights (if not more) when we go. I've been doing a little more research on the place and between the video poker, the rooms, the restaurants, and all the resort has to offer, it is its own little paradise. Can't wait to check it out!

    John, good point of addressing the suited king, ten penalty card scenario. Many years ago, when I was a novice player. I kept getting frustrated with myself because I didn't understand why sometimes this play was an error and other times it was not. I learned all about flush card and straight card penalty scenarios. When I'm playing 9/6 JoB I have to look for another flush card and/or a nine. I look forward to the next video. BTW nice job on hitting those aces. I hate when I have a session in which all quads are the standard 125.

    My personal favorite of VP is 10/7/5 Double Bonus! Meaning, 10 to 1 for a full house, 7 to 1 for a flush, and 5 to 1 for a straight. It's a game that, in fact Double Bonus itself is a game a lot of people overlook, because they worry more about quads, than HIT FREQUENCY, so they end up choosing DDB or TDB; which are the more variant and risky games that eats at their bankroll quickly.

    • @johnsworldofvideopoker
      @johnsworldofvideopoker  2 роки тому +1

      Awesome! That game has 100.17% pay back. And you’re right, that is an excellent game, however, I’m sure that the game is not widely available with that pay table. If you do find one, they’re probably at the 25¢ coin denomination. The volatility is not too bad, although following perfect strategy, you’ll have to wait a little longer on hitting the Royal Flush (which on the average hits 1 in 48,048). I’ll keep my eyes open for it now that you’ve mentioned it. If I see it, I’ll play it and release it in an upcoming video. Thank you for bringing that game to everyone’s attention!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

      Thank you for liking my 'free" advertising for Red Rock. They have a great casino! They deserve it! The deeper I dive into making videos, the more I need to learn. It's unfathomable. Your pioneer Dad sure picked out a great career for himself and he made a great contribution to this country for what he did behind the lenses of Hollywood. I wish he had written a book about it. It had to be monumentally rewarding, as well as tedious & demanding a career that once could of gone into. He still lives & breathes through his legacy in films. I would have loved meeting him, touring the studios with him, and hearing about all his work in film. He was a great man. Take care, Paul, and all my best to that smart video poker playing Mom that you have. Please send her my best wishes.

      South Point has a very nice buffet & I have put on a pound or two because of it. (Lol) Their casino is also very good across many areas: there are a ton of video poker machines there, along with the Cinema, the bowling alley, the rodeo facilities, and their restaurants and bars. It is a very friendly casino as well. It's a very nice place. If I had any issues at all with South Point it is that their High Limit is lacking in full pay games and that they don't offer the $50 or $100 coin denominations in video poker. I do like that they have 8/5 Bonus Poker at the lower denominations. All in all it is a great casino, but for High Limit play, it doesn't measure up in any way near what you can find at Red Rock in the High Limit category which is my primary motivating factor is choosing to play at a casino.

    • @johnsworldofvideopoker
      @johnsworldofvideopoker  2 роки тому +4

      I’m glad that you find some value in my channel & have applied it your own video poker journey. If you practice on a simulator that “warns on mistakes” then ultimately you’re going to experience some great wins. Once you’re confident in your playing skills because you invested in sharpening them, you’re going to reap the rewards of that “effort”. Then while you’re playing at 25¢ coin level & if the machine is “rolling your way” with your skillset intact, you won’t be afraid of hitting the 50¢ coin machine as you just described & with good results. It is important to play a true 8/5 Bonus poker pay table where 2 pairs = 10, Quads = 125, 2,3,4,’s = 200, & 4 Aces = 400. Don’t play the ”hokey” pay tables where it’s a 6/5 & pays 150 on any Quad. Even 7/5 Bonus Poker is “acceptable” if you can’t get to an 8/5 BP machine. Avoid a 6/5 pay table at all cost! Don’t “reward” a casino for ripping its’ customers off. If no one plays those machines the casinos will be forced to “loosen” them up. 5¢, 10¢, 25¢ denominations ate great to “test” your skills if they are at least 7/5 & 8/5 pay tables. Pechanga here in California is very generous in that all coin denominations are 8/5 machines. Practice, practice, practice on a simulator on 9/6 JoB & 8/5 BP, and you’ll reap a decent harvest. Keep me posted. I love it when players invest in “themselves” and then reap the rewards of that investment. YOU are the BEST investment you’ll ever make. Do that and you DESERVE to WIN!!!🙌🏻🌎🌎

    • @johnsworldofvideopoker
      @johnsworldofvideopoker  2 роки тому +1

      Playing low volatility games (9/6 JoB or 8/5 BP), daily practice on a simulator that “warns on mistakes” (to minimize errors), and a 1,000 coin minimum bankroll are the tools that I use to have a decent amount of success on the game. I think that Bob Dancer, Stanford Wong, Michael Shackleford (Wizard of Odds) & Anthony Curtis (Las Vegas Advisor) are the true “Professors” of video poker. I can’t even come close to their brain power. Nonetheless, I have been very fortunate on the games. I only have one true video poker hero in life and that is Andrew Baguley (Slotmassacre). A mutual friend of ours, Curtis, is another great player that is in his league too. We each developed our gaming styles independently of each other for at least 10+ years (without knowing each other) and before ever having met. But if it weren’t for Slotmassacre, I wouldn’t have this platform today. He’s the most genuine, most enthusiastic, most fun, most inspiring, most creative, and one of the shrewdest and smartest players of the game today. I’m lucky to have him as a mentor and as a true friend.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

    Great video as always but I would caution about the $10 or $50 coin. That’s $50 or $250 of each push of the draw button! I tend to play more constantly but will ramp up or go to a multi play if I have the funds and get bored. A session bankroll of 1,000 coins (5 each hit of the button) is good advice but don’t start on a $10 machine until you are prepared to lose $10k. My only royal so far was on a multi play dime machine but looking forward to stay in the game for more.

    • @johnsworldofvideopoker
      @johnsworldofvideopoker  2 роки тому +2

      Thank you, Henry, you are so right about the $10 coin and the higher denomination coin play. The machine that you're playing better be spitting out a lot of the frequently hitting hands (found at the bottom of the 8/5 Bonus Poker pay tables) or you could be in trouble real quick. That being said, a 1,000 coin bankroll ($10,000 for $10 coin play) still gives you a good cushion to "see" if the machine is rolling in your favor or not, before it can do too much damage to you. It only cost me $1,500 (out of a $3,000 bankroll) to hit my $100,000 Royal Flush last February. (It actually cost me “nothing” since that $1,500 was part of $10,000 that I won off of a single $100 Bill which was also won off of “free play”.😉) To be totally accurate (after they finally paid me the $100,000 (Big Wins ALWAYS take an hour to pay out), I took the remaining $1,500 left in the machine, switched the game to BPD and the coin denomination to $10 Coin. In just a few spins later, it hit a Quad (3’s), which pays 400 $10 coins for another $4,000 on BPD. When Slotmassacre hit his $100,000 jackpot, he had loaded $10,000 into the machine. His big win was hit while his bankroll was at $9,500 out of his $10,000 initial bankroll, so his $100K win only cost him $500! So as long as you're a well seasoned player & well practiced on the games (and you start with a 1,000 coin bankroll), you have put yourself in a great position to be able to receive a massive win when a good hit comes your way. I don't necessarily enjoy losing $10,000 in a session, but Slotmassacre and I are so well-versed on the games that we play, that we just see the loss as “only temporary”. We just come back with a bigger bankroll on an even higher denomination coin level to win that "loss" back in no time. I never see it or call it a loss, but rather, it is on "deposit" waiting to be withdrawn on another occasion. That's how we play the game!

If one machine takes it away, you can trust that the stability of 8/5 BP on another machine where the RNG is in a “favorable mood”, that it will deliver. Well done, Steve. When they start hitting $2,000 Royals (not a bad day’s pay, mind you), they become confident in playing the $1 coin level and become very good players as a result (assuming they practice on simulators to master “their” game. • @johnsworldofvideopoker
      @johnsworldofvideopoker  2 роки тому +2

      The best way to "win" in a casino (particularly in Bonus Poker) is daily practice on a simulator that "warns on mistakes". There are 2,598,960 possible hands in video poker. That's easy for a computer to digest, but not so, for the human mind. Imagine having to see, play, & memorize every conceivable hand in order to never make a mistake in video poker. The great news is that you don't need to! And Bonus Poker is not only one of the least volatile games out there, but it's one of the easiest to learn. That's why it's so profitable to those who approach the game properly. When you use a simulator that "warns on mistakes" you'll soon see that holding a suited K-10 never "works" if there is another card that is also of that same suit in the hand. It is called a card that "penalizes" the player by it being in that hand. They're called "penalty cards". It's not that selecting a suited K-10 is bad by itself, but it is bad when there's another card of the same suit in the mix. You might hold the K-10 in order to try to convert 2 to the Royal into a Royal Flush. That by itself is fine IF there is NOT another card of the same suit in the hand. By choosing to hold the K-10 for a Royal Flush means that you are NOT holding the "other card of the same suit" for just a regular flush, or even for a straight flush. Therefore by selecting the K-10 (but NOT the other card of the same suit) the player is essentially making it impossible for him or her to get as many regular flushes or straight flushes that might occur had he or she held all 3 suited cards & not just held the K-10 to ONLY go for the Royal Flush instead of making the other "other flushes" available upon the next draw. It's a game of probabilities, and adhering to near-perfect strategy gives you the best chance of winning long term. I have discovered on my own that even "sloppy near-perfect strategy" is good enough to make a fortune playing Bonus Poker ONLY. So if you have an iPad or an iPhone I recommend that you download an app called WinPoker by Zamzow on to your device. It's the best out there & very cheap: I've seen it at $4.99-$9.99. Whatever the price, it'll make you a fortune if you use it properly. If you practice 10 minutes everyday with it "warning on mistakes" you'll expose yourself to those 2,598,960 hands randomly. You'll constantly make whatever mistakes you're making over & over again constantly & it'll warn you that it is not the correct "long term hold". You push i for information & it shows you a chart with the correct hold, the 2nd best hold, the 3rd best hold, the 4th best hold, & so on. There are numerical values of all the holds there to see & their "expected value" IF you were to hold them based on what is "left in the deck" to be dealt to you in order to make the "best hand possible" with what you've got in your hand. So instead of trying to be a computer & memorize every possible hand (2,598,960) you just let the simulator "warn you" & after constantly holding incorrectly the suited K-10 in when there is another card of the same suit in your hand, you get tired of making the same incorrect hold, over, & over, & over again because of the "warnings". So eventually you'll just "accept" that you NEVER hold a suited K-10 with another suited card in that hand. After a while, you'll erase most of the mistakes that you & me & everybody else has redundantly been making in the casino (much to the casino's delight by the way) and you'll STOP making the same mistakes over & over, & over again in the casino, (much to your delight by the way) because your bankroll will last longer, you'll be exposed to many more 1,2,3, & 4 to the Royal Flush hands because of it and the "odds are" that some of those will convert to more Royal Flushes for YOU! Remember this always: "In video poker, the casino relies on the "built-in" House edge & PLAYER ERRORS to make a PROFIT." To NOT practice daily on a simulator that "warns on mistakes" is a gold mine to the casino & the poor house for the player. Remove your errors and you CAN beat the House! if people knew what I have made over the years from video poker they'd not only be shocked senseless, they'd be pissed! You can count on everything that I just told you. It's up to you now, if you'll follow through with it. By the way, that app is NOT available on Androids. That means GET AN iPhone & GET RICH! And that is the Gospel According to John's World.

    Also, a simulator is very much like working out at the gym. The more you do it, the more you get out of it. Even a little time on the simulator/gym is helpful. Once you hit your fitness goal, you continue to go to the gym to maintain. Just as in video poker, you continue to practice on a simulator. One reason why people are reluctant to practice on a simulator is many people learn to gamble from a family member (such as an Uncle) or they learn to gamble in the military. People tend to overestimate there gambling ability/intuition.

      Bonus poker made me the patient man that I am today, it also made me a small fortune. By the way, the earlier versions of video poker were mainly just 9/6 JoB & 8/5 BP. YOU make money on those games. All the other games were invented to “lure” you away from 9/6 JoB & 8/5 BP. The casinos love all the “other versions” of video poker games because they believe that “only” the suckers will play them. Hopefully, the answer I just gave you (in regards to your suited K-10 question) makes the statement that I just said here clear to you on what games you should play in the casino vs. the games that the casino “steers” you to in order to favor the House.

      I know what you mean on the TDB. I hear it all the time from, Andrew & Curtis, when they’re playing BP, and hit the good hands with kickers on them. They always say that “they’re on the wrong game” (that is of course, until they hit a Royal Flush on BP), then it’s the “right game”. I “collect” Royal Flushes due to my loyalty to Bonus Poker and its relative stability. In the near future, I will branch out to other games, but BP has been very good to me, so it’s hard to walk away from collecting another Royal Flush win. It never bothers me to see Aces w/kickers because I don’t play the other games. The stability of BP is what allows the Royals to become “collectables” and it’s been my “hobby” for the last 10 years. So this would work well when you have multi-denom game where the paytables are the same across all denominations
    So for example I play a lot at South Point and they’ll have 3 different denoms on any game king there…so IE .25c / .50c / $1
    So using your strategy
    Start on quarters and catch a run and then bump up to 50 cent and so on
    So with that being said given a decent bank roll if all the denoms will deal the same cards isn’t it better to play on the higher denoms to start so you catch the run and build up your bank roll faster? Or when you do hit it’s in taxable territory already etc etc?
    Like once I realized no matter what denom I pick it’s the same cards dealt on the screen I started playing the max denom on each machine more often. The only downside is when the cards go south it can eat you alive quick

      This is a great topic that you're bringing to light, Cameron, so thank you so much for that. Yes, you can start high & then "retreat" to a lower coin denomination (as needed) but keep in mind that the casinos (already have) "the upper hand" built into their pay tables. There are 2,598,960 possible hands in video poker. 55% of those "Favor the House" (that's 1,429,428 hands) and 45% "Favor the Player" (that's 1,169,532: that's a 259,896 hand "gap" between the two. They're all "randomly" shuffled together & then dealt out "randomly" to the player. In my practical experience (in the casino), I have won more money by starting at a lower denomination & "expanding up" to higher denominations from there, than I have had, by starting at a higher denomination, and then "scaling-down" from there. (That's just been my overall experience). Sure, you will have the occasional great "early big hits" sometimes, and then "coin-up" from there, but in my experience, if the game is on a "run" with good hands (initially), then just scale-up "faster". The point is to "preserve bankroll" long enough for all the Royal Flush combinations to pass through so that "ultimately" some of those will convert for the big win. Hopefully, those Royals show-up when you happen to be on the highest denomination possible. I was once on a $1, $2, $5, $10 coin machine in Bellagio, sliding up & down the denominations, alternately attacking upwards across the denominations & and then retreating downwards across the denominations, as needed. I started with a 1,000 coin bankroll (on the $1 coin level) and charged up & retreated down the coin denominations. The machine would sometimes be great at the $10 coin level & then again it would "chew me alive" (like you just said) so then, I would retreat down the denominations. The retreat monster chased me all the way down to the $1 coin level as my bankroll was nearing ruin. I had just been on $10 coin for as long as possible "grinding it down" off of "house money" when out of a last ditch desperate attempt to "save" my bankroll from being devoured, I quickly leap-frogged from the $10 coin denomination all the way across to the $1 coin denomination (skipping all the denominations in between) and then, as “luck” would have it, the Royal Flush finally hit on the $1 coin denomination for $4,000 (instead of the $40,000) that would have hit, had I been on the $10 coin denomination when it hit. But that's the way it goes sometimes, but the point is, that I still hit the Royal by alternately charging ahead & retreating to preserve the bankroll, while simultaneously exposing myself to potentially hitting the $8,000, $20,000, & $40,000 Royal Flushes that come off the other larger coin denominations from a $1,000 bankroll that was really only "appropriate" for the $1 coin denomination. (A 1,000 coin bankroll "minimum" is needed for "any" coin denomination to properly engage in multi-coin denomination play. In regards to taxes, I never "factor-in" the "tax consequences" into the playing of the games. You can't avoid paying the "Vigorish" of Local, State & Federal taxes. Just play to win & give Caesar (the government) their due.

      I find it a little bit challenging to ad lib “well enough” to entertain an audience while trying to focus on playing the game properly, so I prefer to overdub which I usually do in my videos. You’ll see in my upcoming series of 3-5 videos of high limit play at Red Rock (that were recorded “live”) and I “bumbled” my way through it, plus it affects my play. I’m barely familiar with filming & editing, let alone being a personality on camera. So until I “find my voice” live, I’ll be strictly filming in silence. That way, I’m just “playing” video poker. I play to win and with high stakes, there’s really no margin for error. So I’m not an “entertainer” in the strictest sense of the word. Not that I see anything wrong or bad in any of it, but it doesn’t come naturally for me, like it does for Slotmassacre. I’m a deep thinker & a writer of sorts, I guess you would say. If I were in Hollywood, I’d be “behind” the camera, not in “front” of it. Andrew is very good at being himself in public and he’s a lot of fun to hang with. In time, I’ll become familiar with everything and relax and find my groove, but that may be a while yet. Before I started my channel, I used to watch Andrew filming his videos. I started filming alternate views of his content to offer a different version of the same event. I always forwarded my videos to him & you’ll see that in his earlier videos. That camera man was me. I do have a passion for details in everything I do, so if I just stick to being me everything will work out. At some point in the future, Slotmassacre & John’s World will collaborate on future projects together. We sling a lot of ideas around between us and are essentially different sides of the same coin. See what I mean? I could write a screenplay but I wouldn’t do very well in front of a camera acting it out!🤣🌎

    You're right about two pair saving the bankroll, because when you switch up to Double Bonus, Double Double or Triple Double, getting only 5 credits instead of 10 (and only10 credits instead of 15 for three of a kind on TDP) can really sting and erode your stake right quick!

    • @johnsworldofvideopoker
      @johnsworldofvideopoker  2 роки тому

      Yes! The 2 pairs is an 8/5 Bonus Poker player’s meat & potatoes. If they’re not hitting frequently as they should, then I retreat to 9/6 JoB on the same machine and keep checking back on the 8/5 BP game to see if it “changes its mood”. If that doesn’t work, I’ll go all around the carousel or bank of machines until I find an 8/5 BP game that’s in a friendly state of mind, and then preferably it has at least 6 different coin denominations on it to make up for the 1st machine that was “stingy”! Thank you, John, for contributing to this channel with the wisdom of your experiences.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

    I have a theory why many reel slot players stay away from video poker, despite it's extremely low house edge (much better than reel machines overall). I like to use the analogy of fishing. Some people dislike fishing, because, like VP, it takes strategy, discipline and patience. Instead of just passively hitting a button (no offense to reel slot players...I used to be one before finding VP), like John demonstrates, you have to search for the right spot (change games or machines), use the right tackle/bait (different strategies for different games), and keep at it until you find that "honey hole" where they're biting. Once you find that spot (machine), it's a kick reeling in smaller fish (JOB, Two Pair, Three of a kind, etc.) then the thrill of landing a whopper (Full House, Quads and/or Straight/Royal Flush). I surmise any Old School VP enthusiast will agree that having exercised strategy, discipline and patience adds that extra gratification to a huge win that isn't as present in playing reel slots.

      Again, your analogies are always so practical and spot on. I love them! Great insights, John. Thank you!

      John’s World of Video Poker
      Hi Eric,
      This was my reply to another viewer that was asking about something very similar to your question and here it is: The best way to "win" in a casino (particularly in Bonus Poker) is daily practice on a simulator that "warns on mistakes". Therefore by selecting the K-10 (but NOT the other card of the same suit) the player is essentially making it impossible for him or her to get as many regular flushes or straight flushes that might occur had he or she held all 3 suited cards & not just held the K-10 to ONLY go for the Royal Flush instead of making the "other flushes" available upon the next draw. That means get an iPhone. If you practice on a simulator that "warns on mistakes, you will encounter the J-10, Q-10 situations that you're referring to. I believe in most cases you would hold the J-10 & the Q-10, but there may be some exceptions to this. I just let the simulator warn me & then memorize the exceptions. I need to dig deeper into penalty card situations more in order to give you a more definitive answer. Bob Dancer has a good book entitled, "Video Poker for the Intelligent Beginner". You may check articles on the subject by looking up he Wizard of Odds or articles by Stanford Wong on google to find your answer. The use of a simulator is the best way to learn about those situations. Great question. I wish I knew all the answers but I don't. I hope this helps you in some way.

      Let me know if practicing on a simulator helps you improve your game. Stick to 8/5 Bonus Poker ONLY for a while and get good at the game and the results that you’re getting in the casino should improve.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

    Your comment on not holding the King and the 10 same suit is STUPID!! I have got many many ROYAL FLUSH's holding the king 10, what would you do if you didnt hold the 10 and the rest of the cards came up??? that is dumb.

      Video Poker is a game of “long term probabilities” punctuated by “short term randomness” that can occur & can “reward” players who insist on “incorrect holds” in regards to the “long term” mathematical outcomes and returns from the games they play. It sounds like you enjoy a “short term” “random” strategy towards the game and have occasionally been rewarded for it (as we all have from time to time). Just as when a person investing in the “stock market” has a “risk profile” or “risk tolerance” not all people are comfortable with volatile short term risks when compared to less volatile long term risks. You may like putting all your money into a single stock and ride the rollercoaster everyday watching it soar & drop moment to moment, day in & day out. On the other hand, a retiree may diversify their risk into many different stocks to lower their exposure to “risk”. And not have to think or “worry” about their investment because of their trust in the “long term” averages (there’s that word again) to deliver a very stable return in the “fullness of time”. There are players who love 9/6 JoB video poker because of its low volatility, relative low risk, and its “stability”. Then there are people who love the extreme volatility of TDB which requires 5X the bankroll to play, is very risky, and is not a very stable game, in a word, it is a roller coaster ride. If you put the TDB player on a 9/6 JoB game, they’d be bored to tears and irritated by the relative “dullness” of the game. By the same token, if you were to put a 9/6 JoB player on a TDB game, they’d be a nervous wreck with cold sweats while witnessing their 5X bankroll plummet to near-ruin 3X-4X (within an hour’s play) before it rebounded back-up to “maybe” even again. It would be unkind to classify either person as “stupid” when in fact, they are 2 different players with different likes & dislikes due to the differences in their “risk tolerance”. I truly hope that your penchant for “risk”, (however mis-placed and adverse it may be) in the “long term” probabilities of the games, yields you the rewards that you’re anticipating. You’ll truly need “luck” to be on your side in your personal crusade against the “mathematical odds”. Thank you for your comments which allowed “stupid me” to clarify this point for other players. I’m sure this discussion will be of benefit to them. So thank you for that.

      Mostly all the Stations Casinos are good in the vein of Red Rock (since they’re all sister properties) there’s Boulder Station, Santa Fe Station, Sunset Station, Palace Station, Texas Station, but they’re all local casinos in outlying areas. The Orleans is good, M is ok on a certain cluster of machines, South Point. Aliante, The Californian & Main Street Station, and Circa, in downtown Vegas. Even the Rio, at least has 7/5 BP. If you’re not wanting to veer-off too far off the Strip, then your best bet is Palace Station (which is a mini-Red Rock) and is quite suitable. Stations is building a new local’s casino called Durango. If you’re playing $5 coin level & above, there are still good 8/5 BP games all over the Strip in the high limits areas. Even though there are a lot of crap pay tables at the lower coin denominations, there’s still quite a lot of good pay tables on the Strip at higher levels. Even the Wynn has 7/5 pay tables on quite a few machines. Go to Palace Station, you’ll enjoy it!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

      I don’t blame you on the DDB, it used to be my go to game at the beginning of my playing career. After I hit a few more benchmarks in BP, I’ll be integrating an assortment of games to include JoB, BPD, DDB, & TDB. This was a particularly dry session up to a point, but I try to tell it as it is to keep it real. I’ve played a few times at Green Valley Ranch (usually with Bigkats Poker & Docs Gambling) but it’s a little remote unless you live in that area. Red Rock is a little remote as well, but it has far more video poker games in all the right denominations, so if I have to choose between the 2, then Red Rock wins that coin toss. However, GVR is very nice. I also like Sunset Station. I have a host at Caesars Palace, The Wynn & The Mirage. Eventually, I’m sure to have one at Red Rock. Thank you for subscribing & commenting!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
