Hearing this reminds me of a prayer made while standing in the shower, I had just begun to get to really know Jesus, and I wanted so badly to have that close relationship with Him like I’d read in the Bible so I prayed; Lord I just want so badly to have you as a friend like David did I want to know you as my friend. Facing the possibility of letting go of a friend today is a heartbreaking moment for me. Heartbreaking because I love this woman. Heartbreaking because I see nothing good coming of it. Now, listening to you sing this song, I realize that although the friendship is causing me heartache, I can not abandon this woman. It is not a sexual relationship at all. It is one in which I see the good in her, I feel her heart and it is good, and I know that her problems, right at this moment in her life, are more than she can bear alone. I wore out my highlighter reading it as so much of what he explains on why nice guys fail is amazing Hope this helps you. Charles we all need a friend in life, the kind of friend which you're referring to here in your comment and the kind being sung about. I know of what you write about all too well. Been there done that. Sometimes in being a good, caring, and loving friend we need to take a step back and give our friend some space but at the same time let them know that we're there for them if they should need us and all they have to do is call out our name. In the meantime we can pray for that friend and ask God to watch over and bless the needs of that person if it be His will. Not always are our prayers answered because He has other plans and lessons to teach and everything is in His time, not ours. Yet our prayers never go unheard and in that there is a blessing. I only just learned an hour ago that a very dear friend has come down with both Covid and pneumonia. Today my prayers are going out to her and to you and your friend ...... in the name of friendship I ask God to look after each of you and to hold you close in His loving care.

Facing the possibility of letting go of a friend today is a heartbreaking moment for me. Heartbreaking because I love this woman. Heartbreaking because I see nothing good coming of it. Now, listening to you sing this song, I realize that although the friendship is causing me heartache, I can not abandon this woman. It is not a sexual relationship at all. It is one in which I see the good in her, I feel her heart and it is good, and I know that her problems, right at this moment in her life, are more than she can bear alone. By alone, I mean that she has no other emotional support. I will ask God to give me the strength and the ability to help her find herself. I apologize for using your page in looking for answers, but, I believe you understand God guides us to many places for many reasons.

Charles we all need a friend in life, the kind of friend which you're referring to here in your comment and the kind being sung about. I know of what you write about all too well. Been there done that. Sometimes in being a good, caring, and loving friend we need to take a step back and give our friend some space but at the same time let them know that we're there for them if they should need us and all they have to do is call out our name. In the meantime we can pray for that friend and ask God to watch over and bless the needs of that person if it be His will. Not always are our prayers answered because He has other plans and lessons to teach and everything is in His time, not ours. Yet our prayers never go unheard and in that there is a blessing. I only just learned an hour ago that a very dear friend has come down with both Covid and pneumonia. Today my prayers are going out to her and to you and your friend ...... in the name of friendship I ask God to look after each of you and to hold you close in His loving care.
