Can I do this on SMBC covered cake? Will it stay for hours and wouldn’t wilt in room temp? How do you store the cake with this? I’m gonna travel with the cake for almost an hour so I’m a little concerned about it staying on the cake.

There are other tutorials that do put in the oven. There seems to be a few different ways to do these. It would be interesting to see a video done with a professional trying different techniques to show which hold up better/longer. I’ve seen some say thick is better, some say thin is better. Some say to bake, some say not to. Some say it can go in fridge, some say it can’t. Some have different techniques for colouring it and some use granulated sugar while others use a different type of sugar that I can’t remember the name of as I hadn’t heard it before. It would make a good video to see someone try these different things to see how the end result may be different and how well they hold up.
Will it stay hard and stiff if I leave it on the cake for few hours in room temperature, in a humid area, since I live in tropical country.. Thank you very much!
I have seen a video by another decorator that adds some tylose powder to it for use in humid weather. She also recommends American buttercream instead of Swiss Meringue and not rolling it too thin.

Metallic gold food paint. Get it at any cake store for £4.99 in the UK. It’s a cheap and easy way to add a bit of extravagance to your cakes and a little goes a long way. There is no need to actual edible gold leaf like the other commenter said unless it’s your purpose to make expensive things for rich people to waste money on.

I'd like to know what the gold stuff is that you use on the edges and how it's made or do you get them from the supermarket.
It's called. Edible gold leaf. U can find it in any cake shop and its around 1600 to 2k
