- I decided to spend the night in Pittsburgh on my way out east and I was quite pleasantly surprised by the amazing architecture as well as the city's overall beauty.
I moved to Pittsburgh in 2008 for college and never left. I love it here. The history is incredible and there's always something to do.
I think pittsburgh has the best architectural buildings as well as the city's overall beauty!
As pointed out Pittsburgh is a very beautiful city and boasts of an impressive skyline though it is underrated. The rivers and hills make it all the more beautiful
Such a fantastic looking city, I am so captivated by it. The view when leaving the tunnel looks so breathtaking, can't wait to study here next year
Just Rustic and Lovely!!!! Everythins is so amazing in Pittsburgh!!!! I watch this over and over again!!!
this video almost had me teary, cant wait to move back home
Aww, comments like that make me want to continue to make more videos! :-)
Yes, I would love to move back home as well. I miss my hometown.
I've been to all but 7 states in this country. Nothing beats coming through the Ft Pitt tunnel, especially at night.
So true! Did that last year and thankfully my friend had been through it so I was told to record a video of it on my phone. Very surreal!
I saw your comment on Jim's page, and thought I'd watch this video. Brings back many good memories from my 2008 trip out there. Thanks for posting this!
Nice shots of my home town! Left in 1971 but have visited since then. Great place to grow up!
Nice video! You got some really awesome shots! Love the old buildings and the night shots are cool as well!
I really love this city and I absolutely love it!
@empltgregg Thanks for watching! I had a great time during my visit there. I couldn't have been more impressed by a city...I can totally see why you're proud!
Thank you for sharing, I have been away from pittsburgh since 93, Thanks for the memories :)
Left in '93 too...missing it!!!
Thank you for the nice comment. Pittsburgh is such a wonderful city and I look forward to every visit I make there. Cannot wait to get back again!! :-)
Brenda Robinson uve missed alot. come on back!
The ‘Burgh is always in my heart.
I love Pittsburgh!!!
I LOVE IT, And The Lights At Night Aww
I've always appreciated the architecture in Pittsburgh. Some of my favorites are: Dollar Bank Building, Union Trust Building (roof is phenomenal), Allegheny County Courthouse, PA Union Train Station and the Cathedral of Learning.
Great vid! I am going there soon and wanted to get a feel of the city. A lot bigger than I thought!! :)
I was born in Pittsburgh! Its a great city
most underrated skyline of the US. because of the rivers it makes it my third favorite skyline in the US: NYC and Chicago are 1 and 2 respectively.
I happen to agree with you there...well, almost lol. I'm partial to Chicago as I'm from there and it's therefore my #1 ;-)
ScenicRoadTrip
but we can both agree for a city that was dying rapidly its a success story - the skyline is amazing and downtown has life that other cities of similar size don't have!
I completely agree!!
timosha21 The Burgh went thru some dark days, survived the mills going belly up, survived Bubby Brister, Neil O'Donnell, Kordell Stewart, and Tommy Gun-shy, survived the streetcars going underground, and came out smelling like a rose. Shit, in 08 when I left, dahntahn didn't look too purty. Anat. But I'm happy to see it looking up. Also, Baltimore is still a shit hole. I may not get to say yinz anymore, but you can take the man outta the Burgh, but can't take the Burgh outta the man. Plus, we don't get as much snow here in Virginia. My aging bones don't dig snow anymore.
Obviously this fellow has never been to San Francisco, Honolulu or Hong Kong. Chicago ? Come on, really ?
pittsburgh is awesome in the summer time.
Very nice! PNC Tower and the Gardens @ Market Square are the newest skyscrapers being built. They've done a great job on Market Square.
@IntoWisOutdoors Thanks! I get to travel to many cities all year round & there's good & bad all over, but spending a day in Pittsburgh, I realized this city is truly a perfect representation of all that's good in our country. It's culturally diverse, safe, clean & absolutely gorgeous...especially the view from Mt. Washington! As far as the laughing at the end LOL!..the gentleman had an...umm... "embarrassing mishap" before the ride back down & no one on the cable car could stop laughing! LOL!
this is an amazing city,,,i would love to be here,,,,,beautiful city
@FreewayBrent Thank you for watching this! I'm checking out your page now and I think I'm going to have to set aside a weekend and do nothing but watch your videos! I haven't driven much out west, as I stay mostly east of the Mississippi River in my travels, so it'll be real fun to check out some scenes from the western US!
Very cool, down to earth vid! Thanks a lot ♥
I think pittsburgh has unique architecture as well!
I think pittsburgh has great architecture and bridges as well!
my hometown I love it
.I found Pittsburgh to be beautiful.great job on this video.
This makes me want to move there right now!
Pittsburgh seriously, needs more and more street lights. At night the skyline disappears and it looks almost like the inside of a cave---- its so dark. Light! Let there be more light O' Pittsburgh!
I think pittsburgh has great architecture as well!
@bcneiman Thanks a bunch! It really is a beautiful city!
Pittsburgh has to be the most iconic American city. Based on industrial blue collar work. Moved into the 21st century with class. Not to mention the home town of Fred Rodgers, it's his neighborhood.
i cant wait to move to there
Its like a miniature version of Manhattan!
I moved away in 1987, but loved seeing the sights of Downtown Pittsburgh. Narration would have been nice, since there have been a lot of changes and additions to the buildings. You didn't show any of the sports venues, and I know Three Rivers Stadium and the Civic Arena have been replaced.
Civic arena... I went to the penguins game when it was being torn down and they were making christmas ornaments out of the roof. It made my parents cry for they had been to so many Penguins games in their college days and they were fortunate enough to watch the most skilled hockey player of all time.
Thanks for checking out my video, Robert Nathan ...I think if I were to redo this video today, I would add narration to it. I made this video right after my first ever visit to Pittsburgh and it was all very new to me at the time. I think a Pittsburgh - Part II video may be in my future plans :-)
ScenicRoadTrip There's to much to show in Pittsburgh to fit in 1 video, still this was cool to see since I only go to Pittsburgh two to three times a year. The city is a gem, it's unbelievable. Philadelphia is a garbage can with crime like every day. Pittsburgh is clean and just beautiful.
Pensfan JGL Hey, I would love to travel to Pittsburgh but were is that clean and beautiful part of Pittsburgh ?
Luis torres You'd be surprised.. It's actually not the same soot covered, gross place it once was haha. It's not the cleanest but it is beautiful and not a bad place. idk if you know of Oakmont CC but it is just north of the downtown area and is one of the most prestigious and beautiful golfing venues in the world.
Nice shots!
Thank you so much, Lourdes!! I appreciate you checking out my video!! :-)
nice I love to go there
Old with the new, nice.
@hajfrank710 I can see why you stayed! I plan on visiting again in spring or summer...maybe taking in a Pirates game when the Cubs are in town...can't wait to get back!
ScenicRoadtrip, can you send me the direction to this exact city? -sorry for the bad writting, I'm learning it :)
