The series focuses on a trio made up of the alien princess Ilana, the strict, but rebellious soldier Lance, and the robot Octus; the three are able to combine to create the titular Sym-Bionic Titan

Billed as "an exciting hybrid of high school drama and giant robot battles", Sym-Bionic Titan features "the adventures of three beings from the planet Galaluna who crash-land on Earth while attempting to escape their war-torn world". The series follows the lives of Lance (voiced by Kevin Thoms), Ilana (Tara Strong) and Octus (Brian Posehn), two alien teens and a robot in the form of humanoids who arrive on Earth, an "identical" planet to Galaluna, while fleeing an evil general who has taken over their home planet with the help of monstrous creatures called Mutraddi.

The three main characters include Ilana, princess of the royal family; Lance, a dark-hearted but capable soldier; and Octus, a bio-cybernetic robot, all of whom must now blend into everyday life in Sherman, Illinois. Posing as high school students, Lance and Octus work to conceal Princess Ilana from General Modula (Don Leslie) and his hideous space mutants sent to kill the sole heir of Galaluna.

When called into battle, the Galalunans are outfitted with individual armor that provides more than ample protection. Jesus, for a kid to have it this bad, I'm surprised he didn't become a villain. Losing his only family member at a young age, being tormented and bullied in his boarding school to the point where he almost died several times, becoming a loner out of fear because others think that he's dangerous, becoming a heartless brute with no one at his side, betrayed by everyone he's ever met, falsely accused of aging a traitor and not even having a home to go back to until it took the destruction of his home planet for him to meet Ilana and Octus. Lance deserves a hug or a frigging reward for all that hell...
He supplemented his negativity with training and discipline. And thankfully elana and octus are able to bring out the best in him after enough time.
My man deserves to be an Avenger ngl
And then we don’t get another season of this amazing show, ever since primal I’m shocked they haven’t brought this back

That scene, that whole sequence where Lance confronted the traitor is one of my favorites in the whole show! And Lance is a deeper character than you first think, proving his thankfulness to the king and loyalty to his people through every single hardship. That strong devotion highlights exactly who he is as a person
No it's more like being a soldier is all has and all he's got. After all if that king really did care, he would've gotten Lance someone to actually help him or at least gotten him some therapy after the funeral.
In the series featuring the clashes of giant robots with huge monsters, the sword fight is the most spectacular and unforgiving.
A lesson for others on how to create a narrative.

I genuinely started tearing up while watching this... Not only because of the good edit‚ but also because this masterpiece of a show got canceled out of corporate greed.
Did the show have huge losses or was it just ‘not good /enough/.
@@dawndarklight44 it was literally canceled because they couldn't get "toy merchandise" for the show
@ɦǟʟǟʟֆɛʀǟքɦ sadly Funko didn't exist at the time for what I know and also while they did make action figures centered around titan and the robot suits‚ it didn't seem profitable and so it was tossed.
They then canceled the show because they decided that if they can't profit off of toys then why bother with the show any further.
Corporate greed ruins a lot of things
Trauma creats two things victims or heros. Lance was a victim of circumstance. He became the hero everyone needed and deserved.
If Sym-Bionic Titan ever makes a comeback and the original voice actors returne along with it, I really hope we get to see a final showdown between Lance and Baron who by know most likely joined Modulas' retinue after his conquest of Galaluna.
So instead of giving him therapy or sending to a proper orphanage right after his father's funeral, the king sends the son of one of his best friends him to a military school. Nothing wrong with that.
Seeing as they come from a martial culture It wouldn't have been out of the ordinary for an orphaned kid to go through that.
Unless there was a political risk in alienating members of his court, I agree that the king could have done more.
He probably wanted him to get in the army and climb the ranks

This is incredible. This cartoon makes my childhood.
The episode with Lance's backstory is so infuriating. SPOILERS but I was so mad that the bully got to get away with all his crimes just because his father is a high ranker despite all the damage and pettiness he made. I feel so bad for Lance that he had to overcome this. Hope his father comes back if the story continues.

It was so infuriating looking back then but now watching this as I’m older I kinda like how they got away with it and lance just got over it. His whole backstory is just “life’s unfair” and lance certainly didn’t back down because of that truth, he was empowered by it to become the unstoppable force that he was in the present!

Really the best way when you are sword fighting on stairs is if you are first on the stairs then you can go low and disable your opponents legs. And it works for all ways of close combat.

I'm conflicted about where Lance should stand. I don't remember much of the few episodes I watched of this show but I do vividly remember his backstory episode, and that the King (and everyone else in general) are colossal duche bags. So I don't know if they had that take over coming or not. And with that, I don't know/remember where Lance should stand. He's too good for either side in my opinion.
Everyone was an ass because everyone in the academy were all rich kids. The only reason the king was kind of a dick is because he had no idea what to do with Lance. He thought he was doing him a favor, giving him purpose and to an extent he was, but at the same time he's very much... THE KING who stuck his neck out for someone seen as a nobody. He couldn't leave Lance alone, but he couldn't play favorites by any means either ya know?
