Its always nice to watch a quality tradesman at work building things, its quite an amazing process when you consider the knowledge and expertise that has been developed over a few decades. nice work.
Yep definitely!
You've definitely made your GQ a unique one. With that colour combo, custom bar work, and huge tyres, no one will miss you on the road, that's for sure. Just make sure you invest in a very good anti-theft system.
Thanks mate! Yep have some trackers on their way
@@TylerThompson90 make sure you get ones with a decent back up battery so if the battery is disconnected you don't lose the tracker. I made up a little battery pack with 4 x 28650 batteries wired in series to give about 16v max and wired it into the 12 volt system. The alternator produces about 13.6 v so having it wired in system is not an issue and provides a power source in case the battery is removed or disconnected. The battery pack is small enough to be hidden where it cannot be easily found.
You definitely made ole mate work for it, he put in a lot of extra hrs outside of his weekend work. Great workmanship and pride in his work. Did a fantastic job
A slow process when customising a 4x4. So far it’s looking pretty good. Well done 🇦🇺👍🏼😎
Thumbs up to the man that made all of the bar
Love his craftsmanship, barwork looks good.
Paul is great at what he does! I've got custom sliders and a customised rear bar set up he worked on. Good dude! Loves a chat too haha 😄
Haha awesome mate!
Paul was hard work not offering his opinion on the looks etc. but obviously he’s done a great job. Absolute weapon 🤙
What great hand made custom bill bar and sliders. You must be stoked Tyler. Paul is definitely talented.
Cheers mate! Yep sure am
Just one thing I don’t like about it is the centre hoop, I would have liked a bigger pipe for the centre. But all in all looks great.
It was so good to see this Bloke do his thing as well, he is a very clever man 👍🏽
What a legend that guy is!
i got $50 of my Outback Equipment order for my snorkel and awning ,Thanks Tyler 🙂
Really great seeing how it's all done.
The guy has talent that's for sure looks stunning 👍 🏴
Think somebody has a fake account of you mate just got a reply on this from them
Man that looks absolutely beaut.
A true work of art and designed and fabrication done in Australia, bloody awesome mate 👍🍻🦘
The bar work looks brutal and unique.....G'Day from Switzerland / Dan!
Wow, so much work involved but so worth the effort for a smick end result. It's so great to see a real craftsman, do what he does best. Congratulations Tyler, your vehicle is looking so fantastic, I reckon is now belongs in a museum instead of roughing it up out bush! LOL 🤣
It's up to to you Tyler. And it's on camera to prove what you said.😂 Love watching good tradesmen doing their stuff. Measure six times, cut it, then cut it again cause Tyler changes his mind. 😂😂.
But it's it's not a problem cause your payen.
Sign of a great person to work with.
Love the GQ Patrol content. I've been following along with the progression of the build. It's turning out to be a bloody monster!
Thanks mate!
Hats off to the bloke 👍 looks mint. Very switched on!
Paul built my sliders and brush bars and rebuilt my tray, hes an absolute legend, fair on price and a top knotch boilermaker
FMD. That shed is decked out with some good shit.
That turned out mint!
Beautiful. Now to get it filthy
Always love the content and you're getting so much more relaxed with each video, you have a very humble approach and make it easier for the normal working man to attain to a level on their own 4wds
That blokes a legend
The bar work looks mint 👌👍
That’s looks killer Tyler !
Nice bar work..suits the chrome nicely too! It's b hard to get a good looking front bar on a GQ without them looking like a farm gate.
Cheers mate, was super happy with how it came out!
Its always been difficult to dress a dull brick up to look like a shiny buckle 😉
Been watching you and Tim build some awesome rigs. Can't wait to see the Tazzie trip.
Thanks mate! Keen to get down there
Looking sweet as mate, well done. The whole rig looking ready to hit the tracks. Enjoy for many years to come. Cheers mate
What a skilled craftsman ! Good build mate looks good
Looking good Tyler.
Wow what a great guy you have found to make these bars for you.
I would assume that someone out there would offer him a workshop, more machinery and and just take a percentage off the work he does.
His eye for detail is great
Thanks mate!
One of a kind ok...
It's come out looking unique and purposeful... Great bar work.
Nice episode. Well done 👍
Thanks mate
Wow! That guy did an awesome job.
Your rig’s turning out beautifully.
Congratulations Tyler and to your metal fab guy, top job and great skills. Cheers
Cheers!
Hey Tyler, did you write the comment below about a prise or is it a scam? Cheers Dav
Yeah. Top vid. Very talented individual.... 4x4 lookin good....
What a machine! Paul from OnTheSide Fab does quality work, and the GQ is looking like a beast of a machine :D
What a legend
That looks great mate. I love the backward bends on the outer hoops. Looking forward to seeing it bounce off a rock step or two ;)
Nice build mate
Man, what an awesome ride. These things were like awesome and still are. Make a fantastic hunting rig.
Looks sick Tyler good work mate 🤙🇦🇺❤️🙏
😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈 fantastic metal work having those gaps which he fills in the holes instead of v'ing the metal and bring it together gwtting a great penetration like 3 to 6 mil steel .... only know how to make industrial gear for machinery, tractors ect ... he puts alot of angles and sections to strengthen the shape and tubing is the new way guys generate cornering strngth ... its a pleasure to watch 😈😈😈😈😈
What an epic guy the man can fabricate!!! Love the work mate he should start a channel whaha. Much respect to you Paul! Rig looks awesome!
Bet he's was over the moon when you guys figured it was the wrong measurements 😅
Very interesting process. Really beautiful bar work, definitely unique. Looks awesome on the Patrol.
Thanks mate!
Looks amazing. The icing on the cake
That's a nice looking bar Tyler the GQ looks smicko great job
Thanks mate
Wow Tyler you’re GQ bar work looks fantastic. I was so impressed with how he was just bending bars up and cutting out plates etc and how it all just goes together it’s incredible. He makes it look so easy. Definitely like your idea that you are getting a Rear Bar made up is well I guess you are getting your spear wheel hanging off it . I’m so looking forward to seeing the finish of your car
Loving the build Tyler, always great to see how it all works
She looks awesome mate!
Yay I've been exited to see this. I'm loving this truck
Be careful not to block the air flow to that radiator grille.. TD’s are all about airflow and efficient cooling... 👌
Bar looks mint though!! Craftsman at work
What a top guy! Great inspiration for my build, blokes. Nice 👌.
Cheers mate
Looks fantastic!!
Great stuff Tyler, you and Paul have created something special, well done 😃👍👍
That’s awesome job done
Tyler, Paul is your brother from a different mother yeah 😁
Looks sick Tyler.
Amazing work done here mate!
looks great
Great episode. Bar work looks sweet as. Was choice to see how it’s made. Excellent craftsmanship
Thanks mate
Great video. Very interesting. 👍👍
Mint.... Beast!
I have recently bought a grnadpa spec 97 GQ, and I was going to make my own custom bar work being a fabricator. Only thing that has stopped me is being defected, as without engineering certs cops can defect you on the spot. Other wise I want to build an aluminium Bull bar :)
Beast
Finished morning stretches, looked up and saw you uploaded. Fuck I was excited XD
Haha awesome!
Awesome video mate
Thanks!
Looks Mint 👍👍👍😍
Thanks mate!
Looks really nice, good for job
Good job
looks awesome
Bar work looks the goods... That Man has genuine good skills, all of his work looks 100%. Is he making your rear bar also?
Na just bought a rear bar mate, found one I really liked online
❤Patrol
@Paul, hey mate I'm keen to find out more about your compound pipe bender. Any links?
Great video. Looks great!
Cheers!
Looks awesome well done..
Demi, that was embarrassing for me @2:22 I dont know how you feel but its time Tyler was sent off to the gym!
Are your wipers on the wrong way around? Drivers on the Passengers and vice versa etc..See a lot of GQ's like this. They look weird and it is a pet hate LOL! I do not think they are interchangeable. Love the wheels
Looks ok for a Nissan. Did you contemplate no loops.
Mate, why another Nissan? Why not Toyota like LC 76,79, 80, 200, prado etc. No offense if you're a hardcore Nissan guy😃. I've never seen a GQ with non tube style steel bumper. It isn't available in the market or is it a GQ thing?
Nice one. 👍 Do you know if Paul of On the Side Fab would make simple brackets and a in-bumper winch cradle (to mount a winch behind the factory bumper)?
Hit him up his always happy to help
Yeah prob just send him a message on instagram mate, I'm sure he would sort you out
all you need is a f250 to carry the bar
😈😈😈😈 honestly though i believe that the bar work should be xovered with foam in case of worst case severity of a scenario 😈😈😈😈😈
Looking good how much weight do u think u have added jst out of curiosity?
Cheers mate, not too sure to be honest, would definitely be adding up
I'm in nz and I'm not lucky enough to win prizes so il pass
Noice Vid...
Cheers!
😈😈😈 thats fuking sick .... wish you lived around here ! You on sunny coast ? 😈😈😈
😈😈😈 maybe in future we can adopt a inflatable air bag that works on its own commanding sequence if a collision occurs ... eg driving past a school ..... a bit of road rash doesnt sound so bad right ! As the bag instantaneously deflates on contact. ... 😈😈😈😈 this has been an idea of mine for some time , beeen trying to generate .... that way its best to centre punch the object , so the object doesnt fly off in the wrong direction ...... 😈😈😈😈😈
What are the connectors called
Camburg joiners
@@michaelclarke4387 thanks
are we likely to see your dad back out on the tracks with you again?
He will be in next Sunday's episode 👌
@@TylerThompson90 nice one.👍
HI TT. JUST SO YOU KNOW. IVE BEEN RECEIVING, A TXT AND NUMBER THAT I HAVE WON A PRIZE.... NOT SURE IF ITS A HACK... CHEERS
Why didn't you make it from stainless to match the snorkel?
Prefer black bar work personally
It was tongue in cheek@@TylerThompson90 Had to write something to feed your algorithm
😈😈😈😈 i think those plasric bars are little to tough and not thought through without a connection to the chasis with a spring or a major give in a huge connection from hitting something 😈😈😈 a huge chunk of foam over the bar whilst in town and maybe easily taken off for use in bush ... just as nationally we shouod be able to lift high with 38 inch wheels and onwards with a clip easily release underneath maybe plastin bar with give , so the 4x4 doesnt mount a little car and tear the victims heads clean off ! 😈😈😈😈 it use to be a ruling in America in the 1980's
Go the Patrol! I want to find a fabricator like this for mine ! 🛻📹🤙😎
so you got 32NB I think he said . which is pretty standard or I think he meant the other type is the CDS tubing
I think your going to need the rear scrub bars more than the front ! have to get them done too next ! 🛻📹🤙😎
Yep I've got a rear bar on now and hoping to get some rear scrub bars connected to the sliders
Looks great
