Back out and curl the bucket all the way forward, get the cutting edge in the ground and roll the bucket back while reversing out and use the curl power to push you out.
probably get some different tires as well, but its nice to see old equipment still running especially some of the old quarry equipment, alot of times it sits where they leave it or in salt mines they leave down below to rot in the caverns in some of them
Old loader with bald assed tires, operated by a complete amateur, in an environment of water, mud, wet long grass, spells tragic comedy. Then stalls it out!
First of these guys have more knowledge of heavy equipment in a left nut than you have in your entire body. If they wanted the loader out they would've backed it out and pushed it out with the bucket. Second,it didn't "stall out" he shut it down.
Back out and use your bucket to push your self by rolling it all they forward dig in then roll it all the back then repeat as needed. Question what were you doing out there in the first place?
that works with skid steers and almost everything every time! exept when you are someone like me and manages to somehow get a 2wd john deere 301A sunk in a dry maneuer pile! had to get the john deere 450C (bull dozer) to pull myself out!
@danthev8man People just don't understand that the bucket can't curl flush with the ground. The limited curling motion only allows the bucket to "tip toe" or hinge from that spot on the bucket tip.
Lose the water in the bucket and come out at an angle. Head on without speed is the faulty way out. As long as the tires don't spin and collect the mud....
1 month and 1 hour and 43 minutes ago i subscribed because my dad watched "Autocar starting and removing the trailer" and I said hey the guy has some neat stuff. Now that same vid is in the options over there >.
how about turning around and trying it in reverse using the bucket to push up the bank backwards, ive done that in a komatsu wa600 dozens of times playing in muskeg, mud and snow lol or was he just trying to do it fowards to see if he could
If you want water in the bucket to be useful fill it and go up backward......the counterweight and engine will provide the weight needed in the back and a bucket full of that heavy muck may help the front. Point is this old heavy ass machine had no business in that pond.
This reminds me of a mahut (elephant trainer/caretacker) giving his elephant a bath on a hot day. Maybe a bit of a stretch, but to me it seems clear. Bet the fish and frogs loved that! Ha.
@odmcarp The operator put forth more effort where he killed the machine at the end. I the camera man was told to get a backhoe to help pull it out , but he managed to get traction off camera.
That would be ok if u had some rice and canes on there we had Deere's that we logged with wouldn't go no where in the mud with those dam grader tires we had to put either skidder tires or rice and canes on them
No it’s not, they’ll sink right out from under you while you’re driving on what you think is a good road. I’ve had it happen more than once in about the same loader, 1976 87A
Back out and curl the bucket all the way forward, get the cutting edge in the ground and roll the bucket back while reversing out and use the curl power to push you out.
I had a 988 as my jungle gym growing up. Thanks grandpa for being such a badass.
I love your videos ! If I could spend an entire day just driving those beauties I would be happy for a long time !
That is an old machine... with the exhaust leak fixed it would actually sound pretty good... we run a lot of old iron and don't regret it
I love the old 988's , fixed a lot of them. Tilt levers and dog bones.
Rear end out first, use the front bucket to shove and work his way out in reverse.
THe old tractor brings back a lot of memories, old sluggish , slow revving things. I was building an HEB in San ANtonio, Texas
Not great traction by the looks of this, I would have expected a wheel loader to walk out of there.
Turn around ,use your bucket to push, not pull !!!damn
This gives stupid a whole new meaning!!!!!
lol, we use to do this with our old Franklin skidder, but the skidder always got out! gotta love em big knobby ass skidder tires!
Every time he drives back into the water, he makes the way to get out wet and more slippery
I think this is one of the most beautyful wheelloaders, I've ever seen!
If it were stuck it would still be there.
That is detained.
Some friend you are. Put the camera down and push!
Today's lesson, friends. A loader on yard tires with minimal bucket curl doesn't go well with soft mud . . .
i love those old cat loaders
It's a big machine. It is efficient. Thank you from Japan.
probably get some different tires as well, but its nice to see old equipment still running especially some of the old quarry equipment, alot of times it sits where they leave it or in salt mines they leave down below to rot in the caverns in some of them

They did if for fun
'PRICELESS STUPIDITY!!'
@jeremylee99100 how did u get it out im just wondering how you got her out
Back out and use your bucket to push your self by rolling it all they forward dig in then roll it all the back then repeat as needed. Question what were you doing out there in the first place?
if she can spin tires that big then she has plenty of power. and for being 50 years old thats not too shabby. lol
O.K. O.K. how did you get the 988 out of there ? Did you reverse out and use the bucket to push the load out , using roll out roll in ?
perfect bass fishing platform
That's one good way to wash the underside of your loader!
gotta love them old 988s
You know them snapping turtles are like "HOLLEY SHIT"
The best thing about the video is the great engine noise!
It's a pity about the pond life being ruined, though.
great piece of machinery super!!!
This is one good, fast way to clear pond weed!
please enlighten us on your vast experience and knowledge of front end loader operation
I was watching suzuki van van :p and end up here, you tube knows what's best for me :)
Did you have to get the D9 and a big long chain?
@dimitrigregorieff This was made for entertainment.
@kennethrobinson123 How many times you have lifted old Caterpillar with own bucket? Lift and knick little too much and you have broken tilt cylinders.
It's still there... nearly 3 years later. Reminds me of the Titanic - LOL!
maybe bud bogging wasnt a good idea
I'd love to see a CAT 994F or LeTourneau L2350 driven in that pond!
If he was smart he would use the bucket as an advantage
good video boss. fun stuff..
Good thing the EPA didn't catch that fool ! That is a big time fine and probably jail time today !
@DieselPowerTV How much does this thing cost?
@kennethrobinson123 Where would he get traction from going forward?
The goo is always on the banks ?
that works with skid steers and almost everything every time! exept when you are someone like me and manages to somehow get a 2wd john deere 301A sunk in a dry maneuer pile! had to get the john deere 450C (bull dozer) to pull myself out!
backing out would have helped
Is that piston slap i hear????

Lose the water in the bucket and come out at an angle. Head on without speed is the faulty way out. As long as the tires don't spin and collect the mud....
Now THAT is four wheeling!
1 month and 1 hour and 43 minutes ago i subscribed because my dad watched "Autocar starting and removing the trailer" and I said hey the guy has some neat stuff. Now that same vid is in the options over there >.
Is that fishing Texas style?
KKKKKKKKKKKK
Yup
Na Texas is to stupid of a place to come up with this they would rather talk shit and hide no balls in Texas just punks

It was just for fun.

Man you have so many heavy equipment videos on here. What kind of work does the ranch owner do?
Yes the 988 was on land but it couldn't get enough traction to get out because the tires were slick. The only way to go was backwards.
That poor old machine can tell your not gonna have it much longer
pond clean - like a boss
"Hey Doug start the D9, the 988 is stuck by the pond"
Captain, we need more POWER.
This reminds me of a mahut (elephant trainer/caretacker) giving his elephant a bath on a hot day. Maybe a bit of a stretch, but to me it seems clear.
Bet the fish and frogs loved that! Ha.
No little fishes were hurt in the making of this video
Lmao....most of the time they get stuck in the water...how ironic. Good video!
shoulda got a short start then thrown her in high gear, use the momentum to carry him up to solid ground
omg and the sound is... godlike!
@odmcarp The operator put forth more effort where he killed the machine at the end. I the camera man was told to get a backhoe to help pull it out , but he managed to get traction off camera.
Smokin the tires! Wait a second...
People! DON'T drink and drive. "Missing Cat: Large, yellowish and not cuddly. Smells like diesel."
If I ever need a pond cleaned out I will definitely not call this guy. He turned it into a hog wallow.
Does it come with a differential lock?
Great way to clean the algae from your lake!
Lets be honest, a fresh set of tyres wouldn’t go amiss here!
they'll find his sketoton sitting in the cab in about a year
...and were driving in the pond because...
Travis Shrewsbury Ki
동물싸움
The were driving around in the pond because it was there. And. Because they could.
Toop
Water pollution at its finest by morons.
u were fishing with this WOW :D
new way of fishing
That would be ok if u had some rice and canes on there we had Deere's that we logged with wouldn't go no where in the mud with those dam grader tires we had to put either skidder tires or rice and canes on them
Damn, she sounds good!
D E M official's would be having a fit watching this
what year is this???? it looks very much like the one we have at our quarry, ours is a 1972
What is he doing in the water
"Man this operator is dumb", would be an understatement!
piece of art
That thing is massive.
This is how REAL MEN catch yabbies
looks like an old Holloway pit and machine.
This is one of those machines that you have to really TRY to get stuck.
No it’s not, they’ll sink right out from under you while you’re driving on what you think is a good road. I’ve had it happen more than once in about the same loader, 1976 87A
We don't see the ending, did he get out or did they just plant daiseys in the bucket to beautify the land scape.
The D9G will have that shovel out in no time
The all new way of fishing. KICK ASS I WANT ONE.
These are a real chugging, sluggish beastie. You guys are really rough bladers, I'll tell ya'. Muck the pond alright.
I guess nobody can think of going in reverse and using the bucket down to push.
this thing is a pile of farts if I ever seen one
just kidding this ole' beauty is a classic 4 sure
YEAH BUT BATHING IN SWAMP WATER WILL TURN THE 'OLE 88' INTO A 'PILE OF FARTS' IN NO TIME!!
Those tires are balder than my grandpa
Got my cat stuck once!! 'Came out with a tin of kite Kat.
Use your brain reverse in and use loader bucket to get to dry land
That thing has seen its last days,no power
