Great video of a professional installation. Essex flanges are not for the feint hearted! When I’ve fitted them I’ve used a thin bungee cord hooked onto the loop on the wire. I hook the other end of the bungee to the timber of the tank cupboard (or some other nearby immovable object). Their puts the cord and wire under light tension and prevents the risk of the flange falling into the tank. You have both hands free to work on the assembly and you can line up all of the components in sequence on the cord.
Good job,not fitted one for years but can still feel my heart beating before you get the lock nut on haha, you got balls taking it off to put the mastic on.
I recently did something similar my tank. I was a bit reticent to use the essex flange as it relies on a rubber seal which could degrade over time. I ended up using a standard tank connector and soldered it in. Flooded the thing with probably way more solder than needed but it worked a treat and I'm sure it'll last the life of the tank.

Brilliant ! Thanx mate! I agree with the silicon sealer. Good practice.
Cheers, a positive comment, makes a change

Nice, I’ve often wondered about trying that
Oh, man...is that a Bionicle WD character back there in the 1st shot?! Lol awesome cameo.
Ha, ha, you know it!
Ahhhh! My ears! Cheers.
If you did it per instructions it tells you to mark the 2 holes before you start then you know where to tighten up the flange
Educative
Nice work
well done no bs
